Prediction time: Baltimore at Houston

List of injury report: http://www.houstontexans.com/gameday/InjuryReport.asp

I'd say we'll take this game by two tds. Going against a team with a young, rookie QB is a very good thing for us. We need to disturb his game early and often with our d-line, we cannot let him get his game going, and we must make him make bad decisions. If we can't do it with just our linemens, then we need to blitz, blitz, blitz with our backs. Instead of having those extra LBs cover receiver, we need to send them blitzing in.

Offensively we need to run the ball effectively, of course. Matt needs to make better decision by throwing the ball away and getting outs of harm way if the Ravens close in on him. He can't stand just stand there and get hit, because we all knows he's as fragile as an egg and will crack easily like one.

I say we'll be up 17-7 at half-time, and finish them off in the 2nd half.

Final score: 27-13.

can I get an amen?

Texans - 31
Ravens - 20

Slaton 54 yard TD run, OD 23 yard back-of-the-endzone TD catch, 2 more sacks for Mario, pick 6 Freddie B

I'll be happy if any two of those happen.

:texflag: :homer:

I'll say ..... 24-16 Texans.

I think after watching last weeks tapes Smith will wake up and stop sending LB's to cover WR's and DE's to cover backs and use them to put more heat on the QB instead.

21-14 ravens (hate to say it)

their defense is going to give our offense fits, the ravens defense imo is better than the steelers

Texans 14
Ravens 10

Probably going to be a sloppy game by both offenses. Our defense should give us a sigh of relief.

Texans 13
Ravens 10

If we can't stop the Raven's rushing attack, we're in for a long (actually, short, since the clock will run constantly) day.

Are you guys the same people that said we would win the first game by a big margin?

Just kidding.

I'm going with the theme of this thread and say the TEXANS WIN as well.:kingkong:

Texans 13
Ravens 10

We struggle to score, but our defense finally pulls a good game against a mediocre offense. We get a turnover or two that turns into points, but only one TD for the good guys.

Go Texans

ravens 13
Texans 10

The confidence in this thread is similiar to the fans of the cinncinati bengals before they played us...they said the same things:

1.) joe flacco can't beat us
2.) there offense isn't good
3.) there d is old

LOL@ the person who said slaton runs for a 54yd TD!!!

You guys do realize what defense ur playing right? You have a better chance of ice skating for a touchdown against or run d.

I'm going to be a contrarian here and say that I hope that we don't bring the house against Flacco, I think the best way to confuse a young QB is to mix up the coverages, disguise the looks and force him to find holes and thread the needle with passes.

If we bring a lot of people it just means that we will have more holes in coverage and therefore easier completions. I also think the Ravens OL is decent enough to give him the time to find the dump off guy or the hot route receiver.

I don't see this being a high scoring game, I hope that Texans return game sparks into life and Andre Davis or Jacoby Jones get us some field position/points and we win a squeaker on the boot of Kris Brown.

Texans 10-9 Ravens

TEXANS- 175
ravens-3

...and we still complain how the national media never gives us props even though we are clearly the cream of the crop

Ravens 31
Texans 27

Ray Rice rushes for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns. Flacco tosses 1 to Heap, and their defense gets the other one on a sack/strip/TD.

The Texans cant stop the blitz, and are down 21-13 in the first half. The Texans pass for 2 touchdowns in the final minutes to make it seem like it was really a game.

My pick is Ravens-24 Texans-17. But that could change quickly if Flacco gets pressured or Heap still can't figure out how his hands work this season.

No matter what, I'm betting on a hard-hitting, close-scoring game.

First, let's get one thing clear. The Raven's defense is for real. That being said, I believe the Texans can pull this one out in a squeaker. Our offense is better than their's and I predict Matt Schaub and his receivers will have a big day. Ahman Green inactive will give Darius Walker a chance to show what he can do. I thought he looked pretty good in preseason. If the Texans OL can hold up against the Ravens' DL long enough to give Schaub a little time, he can throw for some big numbers. I look for Andre Johnson and Kevin Walter to have a big day against their corners. I sure hope we can get our running game untracked against these guys. If we can, it'll be a long day for the Ravens. Glass half full.

Texans win it by four in a 21-17 victory. Won't be too exciting, but anything to get a W, and start erasing that game that we played a week ago. I think the calls on Kris Brown having a good day might not be far off the mark...he's getting me mucho FF points this week :)

I think the switch to Monday night can help both teams..Houston gets one more day to work on protecting schaab. Ravens get one more day try to fnd ways to put the ball in the endzone.

However if this game gets broadcast on espn2 nationally and not just in related markets...I'm giving the edge to the ravens who tend to play better when more eyes are watching. I didn't say they win but they play better..take for example last years pats game.

It can work both ways though...texans might be starving for some national exposure and teams love the lime light.

Texans are usually good for an embarssing loss in national coverage. Anyone remember the Seattle game? Yikes

As for the game, i think it will be an ugly-fest. My prediction is 17-14. Could go either way, hears to hoping its the Texans

I remember Seattle, but I also remember Dallas, Denver and while Green Bay was a loss, I remember playing a decent game as well as against KC.... I think that makes us 2-3 in prime time... Not great, but not embarrassing either...

Dude, check our record for Sunday and Monday night games. It ain't pretty.

first I need to know which Schaub is gonna show up...
will it be the guy who threw two picks into double coverage or will it be the guy who had his way with the Saints in pre-season?

I doubt very seriously the Texans and Ravens play this week. This will become the bye week for both teams and the NFL will adjust the schedules.

I hope there is a game. Too early for a bye. Plus I don't want to have a bye week after an ugly loss. But, not much you can do about the weather. Eventually they'll have to play, so I'll say:

Texans 23
Ravens 13

Put me in the 0-0 camp. I don't think they'll play, but I could be wrong. If they do play, I thought we would win this one handily, but with the players minds burdened by the storm, they lose 17-10.

Yeah us going against a rookie QB is def. in our favor but there is a bigger problem...we CANNOT stop the RUN. And we're going against McGahee? ouch.
