As usual, when Rick Smith talks, you're ready to suit up yourself. Promised a good game Sunday. Wants fans in early, loud on defense, quiet on offense.

Brown had troubles in Pitt with the noise level. Had thought he was used to it. Said Pitts helped him out a LOT during the game. Hurt, a LOT. Will get used to it and KNOWS you have to play through general pain and soreness.

Sage was eating very healthy. We disturbed him as he tried to be sneaky and eat his breakfast in the back.

J.J. Moses is doing well. We all saw him. Talked to him for a second. Told him we really miss him, it's not the same. I swear he got a look in his eyes like he missed being a Texan, then said thanks. He's now a Texans ambassador, hopefully he'll be around a lot.

Brown and Okam talked about how they were a little surprised at the level of NFL skill + speed + technique - that they needed to improve their technique and take it to the next level. Sounded like both of them were a little surprised on Sunday (this is my opinion).

Okam said in college he now realizes he had been relying on his size, and there are guys much bigger than him in the NFL.

I've been around football my whole life, but I don't know how to be 'Load' on defense... ;)

Thanks for the JJ update. I was wondering what he was up to... :secret: (especially after a couple of J. Jones fumbles in the preseason)...

I really enjoyed the breakfast, was kind of expensive since two people didn't show up.

I talked to Rick Smith about the running backs coming for a try out today and he said it wasn't Cedrik Benson or Shawn Alaxander.

He said Daurius walker will probally be back first and mention Davenport and two other rb I heard of but can't remember their names.

Glad you all had a good time. Must have been difficult for those guys to face the fans after such a major mess up on Sunday. I'm forgiving though, and will be there Sunday ready to show those rooks what a LOUD stadium can really sound like!! Maybe it's help add some fire to their butts!!
 
I think Sage got the "veteran memo" that said...FREE LEFTOVERS!! and snuck in wayyy at the back. Kudos to Yankee for spotting him...1 more autograph down. (Slaton missed the memo that your signature should include your NUMBER!)

The Texans were a lot more friendly about letting everyone 'mingle' and get things signed than they have been in years past. There wasn't some "shepherd" trying to get them outta there ASAP this year!

D. Brown also mentioned that he was cramping up in the 3rd quarter and needs to keep himself better hydrated.

F. Okam was most surprised w/ Mario's "knowledge of the game", even moreso than his SPEED, which he said was incredible for a guy his size.

Like Yank said, JJ Moses almost seemed a little 'misty-eyed' when he saw Preston - he said he was disappointed that he never took one to the house for us, but that he LOVED hearing us chant his name.

(Vandermeer even stopped by the table, but I think that was just an excuse to stare at Lil Red for a few minutes!)

Golf Tourney went over well

Sorry I was a no show but I had committed to this tourney way back

Over two and a half years ago you called me about a golf tournament and people were waiting. Nothing ever happened. It was due to Debbie Clemens I started my foundation and had the golf tournament. I was sorry she could not come but I have her to thank and I did that.
