Ohio State tailback and Heisman Trophy contender Chris "Beanie" Wells injured his right leg and was carted off the field during the third quarter of the second-ranked Buckeyes' game against Youngstown State on Saturday.

Wells fell to the ground in pain before he was even hit, fumbling the ball away on a first and goal at the Youngstown State 2. Wells writhed on the ground in pain while he was attended to by several doctors and trainers, with his teammates standing around him watching. Coach Jim Tressel also ran onto the field.

The junior had 111 yards on 13 carries, including a 43-yard touchdown burst as the Buckeyes rolled to a 26-0 lead at the time of his injury.

Its Ohio St their season won't be over because someone gets hurt. They have top 10 recruiting classes every year they someone capable waiting to play they will be fine.

nevermind, USC wins big

Hrrrmmm.... I don't know, in 2002 UC (Cinci) took us to overtime. We looked so horrible I'm pretty sure we'll be prepared for USC. Not sure if everyone got drunk the night before or what. It was pathetic. Everyone except our DB's.

Looks like after this USC game it their title hopes are likely over. Nothing personal against OSU. I like the school but I'm tired of them surviving a weak Big Ten, getting to the title game almost by default, then getting embarrassed by an SEC team.

As an freshman at OSU, the game was a disappointment. But one less team for Oklahoma to compete with!

lol glad i saw Burn After Reading instead of watching this game

Haha. So did I. My girlfriend wouldn't let me watch the game after I put my fist through her coffee table during the KU game. I did see the last 8 minutes or so of the game; Sanchez was already out.

OSU - FL, LSU, OU, and USC have proved - we don't have the speed to compete with fast teams.

I bleed Scarlet and Grey - I love Tresell. But, time to learn to compete with speed.

We had to go downtown to find a place that MIGHT have the game. It was like it had rained glass. The bar didn't have the feed (ABC had hurriance coverage). The manager found an audio feed and played it (Live Sports Cafe' downtown). At halftime, a guy with a laptop had the game and displayed it. We left after 3rd quarter because we played so sad.

After OU, USC, and Texans/Steelers, I need one of my teams to play well....

USC doesn't even run a spread offense its a pro style and Ohio was just out matched by Trojans speed on defense.

speed is the ultimate decider at the college level. it's how upsets happen. small colleges grab speedy guys who otherwise don't have the football smarts to play at the big level and they build 'em up and bring down the big boys. and schools like USC get the absurdly fast ones who know what they're doing, too, and dominate

They were overrated the past 2 years and they were overrated again. Time for them to lose and drop more than a couple of spots.

lol did anyone actually think OSU had a shot. this has nothing to do with OSU being overrated, but USC being able to dismantle any and every team

.

Ok , so it wasnt Stanford and I didnt watch it .... but they did slip up and I find it funnier than Cheech and Chong going up in smoke.

It has happened to USC before against the same team in the same place. Oregon St. on the road is a tough game for USC I guess. It happens. Great game for college football as there is no "run-away" favorite now. Maybe OU.

I would say whoever takes the Big 12 (OU or Mizzou) has to be the favorite...

OU looks great in all aspects of the game.

Mizzou has the best offense in the country, but a very suspect defense.

I think Texas can make noise too. They have a chance against Missouri, but they won't get by Oklahoma this year.

Does UT play Mizzu this year? If so, best case = UT crushes Mizzu; KU beats UT; Mizzu v. KU game is close/KU wins hopefully; Sam Bradford is discovered working at suspicious car dealership and is suspended from OU v. KU championship game. End.

Yes, Texas plays OU & Mizzou back to back.

At the Cotton Bowl against OU in week 7.

Get Mizzou at home in week 8.

Then at Kansas in week 12.

I hope the magical BCS treats us better than the coaches. Apparently they didn't watch us play Saturday.

Sadly I think we're headed to the Rose Bowl against USC?!?!
