STEEL BLUE TEXANS

Hall of Fame
This will be the thread where you can make predictions, post outlandish thoughts, or anything else you want and see if you are correct and rub it in everyone's face or have everyone rub it in your face. Please keep it to football though; things like how a certain team will do next year, who a team will draft or not draft, who will break out next year or who will fizzle, and stuff like that.

Here are some of mine:

The Texans will make the playoffs as a wildcard team.

The Arizona Cardinals will win the NFC West.

Justin Miller will end up being the best CB from this year's draft.

Terrell Suggs will win Defensive Player of the Year.

The Chicago Bears will win the NFC North.

Rashean Mathis and Dunta Robinson will make the Pro Bowl.
Carlos Rodger then Justin Miller will be best CBs, Pacman=bust
Giants will go over .500
Chargers will not make playoffs.

Arena League Star QB - Adrian Macpherson Takes The reigns of the Chicago Bears and wins 10 straight games.

The Rothlisbuger with all that grease will be introduced into the subway sandwich line, Killing long time spokesman Jarod Fogle after 3 bites.

NE - Suffers a humongous collapse as they go 4 -12 after failing to replace Charlie Weis and calling offensive plays by committee.

Houston Texan QB David Carr Leads the league in passing yards with 4300+ for the year.

Peyton will again lose to the patriots despite their losin record.

Herm Edwards - will get in touch with his sensitive side.

The Texans draft Alex Barron at #13.
The Texans, Raiders, and Bills, make the playoffs.
The guy on the cover of Madden has a horrible year.

Vinny said:
That would be a heck of a year. Only Daunte Culpepper, Trent Green and Peyton Manning threw for that many yards last year. This is the outlandish prediction thread though.

I'll offer up a short term 'outlandish' prediction. We draft an inside linebacker at 13, Converted Safety - Thomas Davis.

You could be right about Davis. I think that may happen. Some others:

Texans will sweep the Jags and tacks.
D-Rob will make the Pro Bowl
Jeff Fisher will get fired
The Saints will be 6-2, then fail to make the playoffs

The dim shine in houshmanzadeh will ignite

The AFC EAST(one with broncos) will be the most competitive section

Miami Makes playoffs, with a solid rb in from the 1st round and ferotte as the qb

Seattle receivers start catching the ball again

Also known as the AFC West...

My predictions:

Alex Barron is taken in the 1st 10 picks
Cedric Benson is not

This is Chris Palmer's last year as Texans OC (because he takes a college HC position)

Playoffs? Playoffs? You gotta be kidding me! Playoffs?: The Texans play their 1st playoff game in the RCA Dome against the Colts.

Charlie will trade the second, one of the third, and a fifth or sixth round pick to move into the first round. Then tons of fans and pundits will write that it cost too much. idonno:

Here goes:

Braylon Edwards will be a top 4 pick.
David Pollack will go in the top 16.
Fred Gibson will be drafted and then sell his jersey and hat on EBAY. :loser
JJ Arrington will be taken before Ciatrick Fason.
The Texans will draft at least one player from Georgia.

David Carr will go to the Pro Bowl.
Gary Walker will have someone put him in "position to make plays."
The Texans will play Sharper's team and DD will run him over.

Division Winners: Jets, Ravens, Texans (yeah, I'm a homer), Chargers, Eagles, Vikings, Falcons, and Cardinals, with the Steelers, Jags, Bucs, and 'Skins as the wild card teams...

The Ravens win a hard fought Super Bowl against the Eagles...

Pay-me-a-ton suffers a career ending injury early in the season...

New England goes 6-10 after losing both coordinators and Tedy Bruschi...

Offensive MVP: Vick, Defensive MVP: Derrick Brooks, Offensive Rookie of the Year: Mike Williams, Defensive Rookie of the Year: Derrick Johnson...

First Round Busts: Braylon Edwards, Travis Johnson, Pollack if a 4-3 team takes him, Dan Cody, Fabian Washington, and Roddy White...

Steal of the Draft: Adrian McPherson in the third round...

Babin, D-Rob, Carr, and AJ all make the Pro Bowl after leading the Texans to a 10-6 record...

If we finish worse than 7-9, which I don't predict, heads will roll...

1. The Texans will have a winning record.
2. Jim Haslett will get fired.
3. The Dolphins will win at least 7 games (call me insane).
4. If Rex Grossman is healthy, he will have a big year (3000+ yards).

Steve McNair will retire after the beating he takes this year.
Dunta Robinson goes to the Pro-Bowl.
The Texans will make it to the playoffs as the wild card.
Steve Foley won't be as good this year.

WR Mark Clayton of OK is our top pick in next months draft, Bennie Joppru
finally has an injury-free year and becomes the all purpose TE we have
wanted and needed so badly, and the Texans make it to the playoffs.

*Texans go 10-6
*Texans actually beat the Colts
*DD leads the league in rushing yards
*We draft wr at #13
*Carr, Johnson, Davis, Robinson make pro bowl
*Our first round pick will be rookie of the year(we havent missed so far, why start now)

Looking into my magic 8 ball, i found the following

the texans draft carlos rogers at 13. Period

The colts continue to make us their B*tch

Drew Brees shows up as a one year wonder

The Texans get in a position to enter the playoffs, but a dominack davis fumble in the final game costs us the spot.

Steve Mcnair will break more bones than the titans win games

The Tampa Bay Bucs will return to super bowl form after drafting a running back.

One member of the oakland raiders will be arrested before week 4

Jason Babin will get another Tattoo

Suprise Receiver of the draft: Nehemiah Glover, Texas Tech.

I'll make a few predictions too.

The Bills' JP Losman will struggle mightily next season, and will be compared to Rob Johnson by years end. He should rebound next year.

The Bengals will grab a wildcard spot.

The Redskins will have a winning record.

TO will cause some sort of controversy at some point during the season.

The Steelers will struggle early on next season.

Dick Vermeil will retire after this season.

Ciatrick Fason will outperfrom Cadilliac and Benson.

Peek will have at least 6 sacks next season.

The Rams won't acheive a winning record.

Andre Johnson will become a household name.

Peyton Manning will get hurt for the season.

Steve Mcnair will retire.

you heard it here first...

our line will solidify after three years of shifting positions and ridicule. the weak link is still mckinney but he has a decent (for him amazing) last season as a starter (upgraded through this years draft, spot taken next spring). we are still going to wince and complain when david gets sacked but by the end of the year it will be less than/equal to 35 times!! 14 less than last year!
their executuion of zone blocking is still not 100% (mental errors) but it's enough for DD to gain 1325 yds+ rushing. he goes down as we push for the wild card sometime in the last two weeks, although he is 100% to start the wildcard game. in the game he is injured (week 13/14) he goes down in the begining of the second, only to come back in and punch it in from the 2yd line in the fourth to a standing ovation by a packed reliant to give the texans a 3 point lead with less than 3 minutes left. defense does their job and forces a turnover to seal it. wells and our late round RB selection are adequate in his absence and split 125 total yards rushing to end the season.

no major WR changes, but with the improved o-line, everyone 'round these parts begins thinking "that's why we kept bradford". corey is third on the team in yards but has a monsterous yds/catch avg (25+). jabar is mr. third down and is second only to dre in TD receptions. dre makes second consecutive pro bowl and keeps embaressing DB's all season long. DD goes over 2000 total yards with 675 recieving and scores 3 times (and consequently the phrase "game breaker" is used 93% less on these boards to describe what DD lacks)

defense is solid (top 15) and dunta makes the trip to hawaii. we draft carlos rodgers and have our two shutdown corners for the next 5-8 seasons. babin comes along, has 8+ sacks, 2 int's and 3 forced fumbles. greenwood causes problems in the backfield regularly but the majority of the stats (tackles for a loss and sacks) go to our 'big 3' (majority going to payne who stays healthy). wong flourishes inside, and polk has his biggest year ever in heavy rotation between wong/greenwood. peek is our new 'starter' but leaves alot to be desired in some instances. he miss-reads almost as much as foreman (struggles with TE's and slot recievers), which causes him to get pulled in some passing downs for cheatwood (as 'punishment'). peek finishes with 5+ sacks while cheatwood gets at least 3.

as whole, texans sweep jags and titans again while splitting the colts series (with our win coming at their place and is a beatdown). we make it past the first round of the play-offs but with our condfidence high get demolished in the second round...and then in august '06 the phoenix rises from it's ashes once more

Texans will finish 10-6 and be # 2 in AFC South(make playoffs)
Andre Johnson will catch 12 touchdowns
Texans will draft a RB on the 1st day
Morlon Greenwood will play very well and quiet some critics
4 Texans to the Pro Bowl ( Johnson, Dunta, Carr, Coleman )

Texans draft WR or a CB. Sharper dealt in a draft day deal. Texans barely make playoffs with a solid offense and amazing defense.

Texans go 10-6
Dunta leads the leauge in picks and goes to pro bowl along with Carr and AJ.
DC throws 3500+ with around 20 tds and under 10 picks
The Texans go past the first round but lose the second playoff game in a close one.

Around the leauge,
NFC Champs-Carolina
AFC Champs-Ravens if they get a WR, if not then (going bold here) the Bills if they play the same as they did in their playoff run.

-Dunta gets his Pro-Bowl trip
-The line gets their **** together and DD gets his first Pro-Bowl trip with 1400+ yard and 15 TD's plus 500 receiving yards and 5 TD's
- AJ continues his domination and has yet another Pro-Bowl season
- David Carr becomes the QB we thought he could be but misses the Pro-Bowl
- 10-6 record, wild card spot and we sneak into the second round

Super Bowl - Pittsburgh vs. Atlanta PIT wins 24-17

Offensive MVP - LaDanian Tomlinson
Defensive MVP - Ed Reed

Offensive ROY - Ronnie Brown RB Dolphins
Defensive ROY - Derek Johnons LB Texans ( :heh: ) 150+ tackles, 5 sacks, 3 INTS 1 TD

Greenwood has a big season and everyone will say, once again, "Casserly, you are a certified genius."

Gaff will have over 900 yards recieving which means Carr will stop with the AJ-not-open-dump-it-down-to-Davis read. (Please god, let this one come true)

And maybe the bravest: Bennie Joppru catches a pass in a regular season game!

Steve McKinney will have one game where he dominates and allows David Carr to step up into the pocket.

And the #9 pick in the 2004 draft, Reggie Williams, will have around 300 yards receiving, up from the 268 his rookie year :heh:

sorry to dissapoint you, but the only way we will be playing in reliant is if we win the afc south

Texans will just miss the playoffs, as Jaguars barely finish ahead of them.

Dunta will make the pro bowl.

Andre will make the pro bowl.

Morlon Greenwood will lead in tackles if Sharper is traded.

Glenn Earl will prove to be a solid safety in the NFL.

Babin and Peek will both put up good numbers at OLB.

Carr will finally have a breakout season.

Mike Williams will win rookie of the year.

Raiders will just miss the playoffs.

Cowboys will have the same record as year before.

Detroit will be this years Panthers if all stays healthy.

Marlin Jackson and Corey Webster will prove up to their hype as their years before as they were the top 2 corners for a few years untill they dropped.

Derrick Johnson will force 6 fumbles atleast.

Benson will gain 1,000 yards and 8 td's.

Ronnie Brown will prove to not be as good as people thought.

Matt Jones will suprise people with some really big plays in only his first year.

Patriots lose in the superbowl to the Eagles, in a rematch...

Pittsburgh will bust and miss the playoffs.

Despite all of their acquisitions, the Raiders will be a wild card or worse.

The Vikings will win the NFC, the Ravens will win the AFC.

Babin will have 8+ sacks.

Peek will have 6+ sacks.

The Texans Defense will rank in the top 10.

sorry to dissapoint you, but the only way we will be playing in reliant is if we win the afc south

in the game he is injured (week 13/14)

i always thought the regular season schedule was concrete and made before the teams even started playing :thumbup i re-read it and see how you missed what i meant. DD will get injured in week 13/14 and wells and our 4th round RB selection will pick up his slack. they will rush for 125 yds+ and ensure us the wild card spot. davis will then be back to help us win the wildcard game at 100%.

The Cowboys will win at least 10 regular season games and one playoff game. The team's free agent signings, 3 high draft picks and Big Bill kicking the players' behinds will lead to success.

The Texans will win at least 9 regular season games if the offensive line can do at least an average job. If the O-line is as bad as it was in 2004 and Carr gets hurt while he's back to pass, heads will roll among the offensive linemen and coaches.

Hassel will be fired by the Saints before the Super Bowl, and not get another job in the NFL.

The Texans will win 4 consecative games.

The Texans will split the 2 games with the Colts

Casserly will make a draft day trade

Finally, D-Rob will lead the AFC in INTs, returning atleast 2 for TDs

hmmm i got a few:
Texans win the AFC south
J.P. Losman beasts with McGahee and Evans...become the new young trio
Ravens win the superbowl
Jason Babin records 10 sacks
Dunta Robinson leads the league in INTs
NO IDEA WHO WE ARE GOING TO DRAFT.
drew brees IS NOT a one year wonder, and along with A. Gates, return to the Probowl.
Peyton has a decent year, throws more picks than anticipated.
Carr finally emerges as a consistent, correct choice making, run n gun QB.
i will win the lottery, and buy all of you a slice of pizza and a cold one.

What i was saying is you mentioned DD, will get roared on by Reliant Stadium in the first round of playoffs with us being a Wildcard team. Wildcards never play at home, unless there are 2 wildcard teams playing against each other.

Despite never reaching the potential that the Texans had hoped for when they took him in the supplemental draft, Tony Hollings rips off the longest run in the Texans short history. I think 60+ yds will do it.

NFL Schedule will be released April 12 or 13 (unreleased before just now) remember where you heard it first!

Draft party may just be moved into the Reliant stadium first level...again, I know nothing...maybe...

Texans go 2-2 in the preseason, beating Oakland and Dallas back to back

No regular season predictions for me until June 8th

With the first pick in the 2005 NFL draft, the SF 49ers take Braylon Edwards, reciever, University of Michigan.

Texans win the division!!! only because Edge gets hurt and blames payton for his misfortune
texans trade up and grab DJ and sharper is traded to cinci
carr throws for 3600 yds 32 td's and 8ints...can you say pro bowl
andre gets 2000 yds recieving and 20tds( hey ya'll said outlandish)
dre, carr, d-rob, and dj go to the pro bowl
steve "air" mcnair retires due to another concussion
texans make it all the way to afc championship game then remember that we don't have an o-line
roethlisberger carries the steelers to the superbowl and wins
t.o. does another stupid endzone dance
randy is put on IR after two games as a raider
al davis yells at nerv turner...shocker!!! :shocked

and for my final shocker

g-funk, glenn, wiegert, and mckinney all retire after this year saving the texans a ton of money where we go out and pick up the right players
