Send Sharper and 2nd rd pick to Seahawks for 1st rd (#23)

I think Lovie Smith has publicly stated that they aren't interested in drafting a LB high.

A few thoughts:

If Minnesota has a choice between Braylon and Mike Williams, they'll take Williams...With Moss gone, they'll be missing a red zone threat and Williams is a much better red zone guy than Edwards...

I really, really don't want Barron...I'd take Williamson, Rogers, Thomas Davis, and Travis Johnson all before I take Barron...

I don't think Seattle would make that trade, but I like the result...I think if we were to trade Sharper to Seattle, we would package one of our thirds and Sharper for Seattle's second rounder...

I don't think Green Bay will take Frye...They want a guy with a big arm to take over for Favre when he retires, and Frye doesn't have it...

I'm not sure Mathis will make the jump to the first round, but it's possible...

As for our picks, I don't know much about Fields, but Bartell will be gone in the fourth, Butler will be gone in the fifth, and Jacobs will be gone in the sixth...I like the Curtis pick in the seventh, though...He seems like a good developmental prospect...

I think a better idea would be to get Channing Crowder. I think ILB is where the help is needed.

I like the picks but I wold also go with the Crowder guy too instead of Pollack maybe. But Murphy and Barron would be great but I'm probally close to being alone on that.

no way we get #23 for Sharper and our 2nd - Sharper has less value than a 3rd rounder right now (if we do not trade him teams know we will cut him - plus, he is only under contract for one year so they will not give up much for a one year player - plus he is 30 which means he is starting the downhill side for a LB) - so , the most value he could have is a 3rd or maybe a 4th

So, for us to deal up - it will cost a lot more drafts or another player (I am not opposed to Gary Walker ot Robaire being dealt)

Also, Pollack will go in the top 20 (probably top 16)

There is no way we cut Sharper...If we have no takers, then he'll play out his contract here...

We won't trade Walker or Smith...The cap hit would be deadly, and I don't think there's much of a market for either guy...Both of them will be starting on our D-Line this year...

Why would the Saints take a DE? They have Grant, Howard, and Will Smith...

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Cadillac Williams, RB, Auburn
OMG!!!!!!! People need to stop making mock drafts with the Bucs getting Cady! They are getting a Williams, But not that one! BMW!

Wow, seven exclamation marks. Your guess is no better than mine at this point. It could very well be Carnell. It could also be Mike. They are interested in both.

My point is, dont come in here yellin at people who think differently than you. You only come off as foolish.

I think Williamson is best for Texans. I have heard Barron, Davis, Crowder but i doubt it.

One more thing bengals they wont go Johnson. They have a full team of DT. They might go DE.

I don't understand going Barron in the first at all...CC has said that we're confident in Wand, and I think that if the interior line steps their game up, it will make our tackles look much better...

I also don't understand Morrison in the 3rd...If we're looking to add speed to our LBs, why would we take Morrison who timed 4.75 in the 40? I realize 40 times aren't everything, but I think Robert McCune would fit our system better...

Well some just started callin him Big Mike Williams so it became BMW and I'd rather own a BMW than a Cadillac any day! Ha I crack myself up!

2 OL g didnt someone do this earlier. Williamson is gone on your board. OK
i can ACCEPT Barron. but not Baas. Lets go WR in 2nd or trade sharper and our #2 and get a late round #1 and get Blackstock, Gibson, Brown, or Browner.
then depending on what we do with the 2nd round pick. We would go either LB, WR, or CB

you have a point with the two o-lineman in a row but remember oaklands draft from last year...i honestly think ours will be similiar

why barron? because even if he isn't our starting LT can you name our back up OT's...i can't...remember we haven't re-signed marcus spears yet...so far we have jones, knutson, and bearly (something like that)...we need depth at OT in the worst way...with Baas you are also seeing a more capable back up to both wiegert and mckinney...and maybe one of their eventual successor

but ok i'll revamp the second round and third round picks for ya under the same draft day trade for sharper

1st. alex barron...evental starter at LT pushing wand to the back up role
2nd. fred gibson...number 2 guy with a year to groom
3rd. jonathan babineaux...g-funks successor
3rd. robert mccune...give him a year or two and he'll be starting next to greenwood
3rd. corey webster...wow how far can one guy fall...with john hoke he can be coached up
4th. cedric houston...powerful runner...look at what tennessee backs have done in the nfl and we might have a real steal on our hands
5th. anthony bryant...i see him coming into training camp and actually taking over the main back up role for the NT position
6th. jonathan jackson...capable pass rusher given a few years to learn
7th. daniel loper...most experienced LT in the draft just without the natural gifts

I agree...I brought that up in another thread (I think the Adam Terry thread, not sure)...I think if we're going to draft an OT, we should go for one in the second or third round...Possibly Adam Terry in the second or Wesley Britt in the 3rd...I think Barron would be a waste in the first because he wouldn't even see the field in his rookie season, and it has been established that most of the line's problems stem from the interior's inability to pass block, so if anything, I would keep the Baas pick and pass on Barron, but that's just me...

I agree.... with you on Baas. But its one or the other. I had a 2 hour long conversation with a guy from New England yesterday on how Barron or Davis would be the best pick for the Texans instead of Williamson. If we go Williamson we can hope Baas will be there are #47. I am not to sure on that. If we go Barron we cant be sure Gibson will be there at #47. Your talking the top picks of 2nd round here. Wheither we go Barron or Williamson we will have to trade up to get the man we want. Sharper and a #2 to me adds up to 28-25 pick. At this time in the draft there are some excellent LB, WR, S still out there and also some OL we can take.

Check out this Draft...

http://www.insidetheeagles.com/2005mockdraft.htm

Ill atleast give him props for getting the first 2 picks correct.

After that it becomes a real head scratcher, I am amazed that this is updated as of 3/27, I have no idea where he is pulling this info but there are a lot of names I havent really heard going in round 1.

I hate that mock...Jammal Brown in the 1st, who has never even played LT, and Bill Swancutt, who would make a terrible OLB in a 3-4 in the second...Terrible...

What I really find intriguing though is that miami is holding a lot of private workouts with a lot of different players. 9 total - I wonder if they are pondering trade out of the #2 slot for more picks in the draft.

I think it is possible since they are working out both Auburn backs which could mean they are willing to trade down and pick up williams and add more depth at other positions and let some other team take the #2 pick...
