Best Player of Every NFL team

stingray

Hall of Fame
Check this out. ESPN had a poll on which player is the best player for every NFL team. People could vote for any player past or present. Andre Johnson is the face of the Texans. I agree with this since Texans history is so brief. Earl Campbell was the face for the Oilers/Titans. No brainer on this one.

I had a problem with this. Its really the same reason Earl Campbell refused to be in the Titans ring of honor.. He was never a Titan, they should have a seperate one for best Oiler in history. If they were saying best Oiler/Titan then it should be someone who was on both teams ie Eddie George... But for best titan they should just put someone who was the best in the franchise's history since they moved to Tenn.

Matt Stover for the Ravens?? Really???

I think that should be Ray Lewis.:twocents:

And I would like to add what HJam already said but I still needed to repeat it......

Earl Campbell was not a Titan and he will tell you that himself!!!

Steve McNair or Eddie George should have that honor.

You are both wrong.!

Bruce Matthews was the greatest player to play for both the Oilers and the Titans.

I'd go with Bruce Matthews over George.

Best player of every NFL team eh?

That just demands another list of the "worst" player of every NFL Team.

I'm looking for that one guy from each NFL team who stands out and represents dashed hopes, abject failure, and/or possibly grossly overrated talent. In short I want the other 31 teams version of David Carr.

Quincy. Carter.

Nope. Not Quincy. At least he got to start.

Drew never even made it and Ryan couldn't even make it when they were desperate for QB.

Quincy had it so much better than either one of them. IMO.

And yet Mr. Mittens started for 5 years... :foottap:

I vote Vick for the Falcons lol. He may have produced on the field while he was there but has since royally screwed up their franchise.

Edit:
Falcons: Mike Vick (also because he left a huge black eye on the Falcons and NFL).

Damm It, you must of posted that while I was writing in my comment.

Patriots: Hart Lee Dykes

One of my brothers played against him. As a 15 year old, I watched in admiration while Dykes ran up and down the field. That guy was a beast in Bay City.

Now he's just another very gifted athlete that screwed himself up.

Eh, carry on. :tiphat:

He was highly touted coming out of high school. His head size went Barry Bonds though. He also got a couple of schools in trouble "bidding for his services" IIRC.

Carter got to start because Jerrah drafted him in the second round (#53 overall). Drew Henson was drafted by the Texans in the 6th round and traded for a 3rd rounder IIRC...

Anybody else find it ironic that the title of this thread is "Best Player of Every NFL team" and yet we're talking about the worst players...

Well we all know that the Texans have all of the best players, so it only makes sense to talk about other teams worst players.... :wild:

Yeah, I think A&M, OU and a couple others where involved in the bidding episode.

He was also involved in a bar fight which ended his career. Screwed his eye up or something.

I know for sure A&M was involved.

The bar room fight also included Irving Fryar.
