Is Steve McKinney still an option for the Texans?

i think we cut him cuz he's old and slow. i don't see them bringing anyone back. should we suffer another injury at the guard position then we'll bring in someone but i don't see it being someone older and slower.

No, he was signed by the Dolphins.

Edit: Nevermind,he was released today by the Dolphins.

I'm sure Rick Smith has his agent's number in his database, but I don't think the Texans are ready to pick up the phone yet.

Even though I see the possibility of McKinney backing up at both C and G for cheap.

He was very effective last year before his injury. Considering that we just lost Weary, I think it's worth it to get him back.

The only place the Great American is going to catch on is at Velocity, Freebirds, and a deer stand outside of Centerville.

Steve was just cut. With the injuries at guard is he still an option to play in our offense? I forgot why we let him go?

Kubiak let him go early (right after OTAs, I think) because he knew McKinney wouldn't be effective in the ZBS - especially at his age after a knee injury - so he let him "test the waters" to see if he could get work elsewhere.

I was sad to see him go because he's good people. But sentimentality won't get us in the playoffs; upgrading our roster will.

Good luck, Steve.

Only if we're looking at him playing Guard again. Even then I think the guys we have in the wings have more upside then Steve.

No thanks to him but hope he catches on elsewhere.

I believe weary is on the preseason IR not the season IR, Kubiak even said "we still have a couple a weeks" wich leads me to believe the decision has still not been made on weary.

Is he not on a Houston radio show that talks about hunting and fishing with another guy?
