Hello Mr. Anderson

Hardcore Texan

Magnet Man
David Anderson is gonna make this team. Granted I have only seen up to 1/2 of the 3rd quarter of the game at this point, but man is this guy a weapon.

I know, a lot of you have liked him for a long time, and kudos to you. I have always thought of him as having great hands but nothing spectacular besides showing tremendous heart. I think he could be the perfect compliment to Jacoby, Walter, AJ, etc. He provides a matchup problem in that role, he is very shifty, very agile, has explosiveness, and shows tremedous toughness to go with those great hands. Color me impressed. I really like this guy, we have been pulling for him, and tonight I got reminded why. I think he makes this team in 2008 and makes a huge impact.

After watching jacoby lose that ball i will bet he will lose the punt returner job and he better be paying attention because he might find himself on the outside looking in .

He certainly out did J.J. today, that's for sure. Barring a meltdown in the preseason to come, I would certainly say there will be room for him on the roster.

Yup. Jacoby is losing ground fast IMO and needs to step it up. Hell Tim Carter outplayed Jones today. And if Anderson is that much better a receiver... well, we don't need another Mathis.

imo....gary is a product of working with our team over the last few years...& believe it or not guys... our coaches are damn good.
I Have a feeling he is our new #4 WR... It's time to give him some punt return duties

I think Jacoby just got too eager on that punt return and didn't take care of the ball. You may have noticed that he almost didn't catch that punt; it bounced off his shoulder pads and then luckily into his hands. To his credit he did catch that pass that enabled them to get one of their field goals. Congrats to Anderson though, he was great.

all of you people saying jacoby is in danger are nuts.

yeah, he lost a punt. HOWEVER

He was blocking, setting picks, and screening off defenders phenominally. HE was running crisp routes, and made a nice adjustment on the ball on a deep catch. Tim Carter is the one that lost ground tonight.

JJ is not going anywhere, IMO. He has a talent, he does need to prove it over a longer period of time, but he will be on this team. I can't wait to see him reach the next level.

I didn't mean to imply Jacoby should or will be cut, but he's falling to 5th mighty fast, which means he is barely hanging on to a roster spot. I'm just disappointed he seems to be making the same mental mistakes he made last year. He should be progressing as a WR, not stuck in neutral.

I completely agree, He's not going anywhere and is a young player still trying to develope. He fumbled b/c he was trying to do to much. The top 5 WR are all safe.

Jacoby made a huge mental mistake, but I didn't feel Carter outplayed him. They both made good plays (Carter with a tough catch in the middle right before getting sandwiched and Jacoby on the deep pass from Rosenfels.) They both also had drops (Carter with one that might have been a little high from Boyd, but he has to come down with it for a first down; Jacoby with the fumble). Jacoby will still make the squad this season. He will need to take that next step to ensure a spot going forward, though.

I think Anderson is the leader through 18 for the 5th WR spot. Assuming, of course, the team keeps 5.

I think Anderson was a safe bet to make the 53 before last night.

AJ, Walter, Davis, Jacoby and Anderson are a solid Top 5 right now. The only way a bubble WR makes the roster is if they keep 6 (they didn't last year entering week 1), or someone gets hurt. And that bubble guy must play special teams.

I didn't notice Carter play special teams last night - he may have and I just missed it and I'll catch it later during my re-watch - but that's what WR 5/6 must bring to the team. I did notice Carter's tough grab when he almost got knocked out - but I also noticed his drops at the camp sessions I attended plus the drop of Boyd's flutter ball last night (it still should have been caught). I saw Carter try to shag a few punts in camp and it wasn't pretty in relatively tame practice conditions. Health and hands - in that order - are the knocks on Carter since he's been in the league.

I've always been impressed with Anderson when he's gotten playing time at WR. He's not big or particularly fast but the guy knows how to get open and catches everything thrown at him. Those guys always have a place on an NFL team. I am confident he'll make the 53, just not as confident that we'll be activating 5 WRs on gameday.

We need to find a solution though because he needs to get on the field on Sundays. He can be a great weapon for us in the slot in the redzone and on 3rd downs.

Kudos to young Mr. Anderson, he played really well last night.
When Kubiak drafted him out of Colorado State a couple years ago, I thought it was another one of his crony decisions, but turns out the kid is a real playmaker. And like Sage said in the Chron article this morning, he kinda reminds him of the Pats Welker, with whom Sage played with when they were together with the "Phins. I can handle that.

I'm not surprised by anything DA did....

I thought he should have made the roster last year...Been tooting this guys horn for a while...

Certain colleges you know what they were when they went in. I've always been a fan of Sunny Lubick's football teams. Got a bunch of over achiever guys who would rather barf up a major internal organ than lose. You may beat them because of lack of tallent. But you had better pack a lunch . Because the are going to come after you for sixty minutes or until they are dead. Aggies use to be like that.

Colorado always has them outmaned and they always play them tough.
