I hope not!!! I hope it is the Dallas Cowboys!! The Mexicans should love the Cowboys. I don't want my Texans to lose a home game.

a regular season game at that.

I would hate to lose a home game to mexico. Not that there's anything wrong with mexico, but you don't get to have your fans

lets keep our team and fans in the friendly confines of reliant park :thumbup

I imagine it would be one of our away games.. and one of the other team's away games also. I mean.. it certainly isnt a HOME game.

thats not possible (having 2 away teams in one game) one team would have to sacrifice a home game

It would be unfair for the Texans or the Cowboys to play in Mexico. It would be like 7 home games and 9 road games.

Pre-season is ok.

I really don't think we have to worry about this. The league is trying to spread the popularity of the game worldwide. So they are probably going to be wanting to send the "Elite" teams over there. In their and the media's eyes we don't fit that bill and sending us over there would be the equvilent of sending the Clippers over there. It's not going to happen. If I was a Pat fan our Colts fan I would be worried. I'm pretty sure however, that they are going to be sending one of the overly hyped media driven NY teams.

ESPN Deportes confirmed that they will be a regular season game in Mexico City.
Since the Cowboys have an intense following among Hispanics, I think that the Cowboys will/may have to sacrifice a home date. Somehow, the NFL would have to reimburse the Cowboys for revenue lost. Also remember, the Cowboys play the Raiders, and the Raiders should also have a following. Next year, we play the Cowboys in Dallas.

man why would u send me something i cant even read lol

The Cowboys have a huge following in Mexico.

Same for the Steelers.

It's all about money and I imagine if the league "asks" a team to go there they would be almost obligated to do so.

It's also a very good way to recruit new fans. I see the fans point of not sacrificing a home game though.

I don't think Jerry Jones would think twice about taking the Cowboys there. In fact at one point I remember a note somewhere about the Cowboys and Texans playing a preseason game there like the Oilers and Cowboys did years ago.

I think it is a bad idea all the way around. The NFL normally is the league that all other leagues follow because the NFL normally makes the best decisions. I think having regular season games, even just one, in another country is a bad idea. I hope they don't do it.

I'm a Mexican and lived in Mexico and I know that over there its bout 80% Cowboys 10% Raiders recently bout 5% Broncos and the other 5% is split among 49ers Steelers and some Dolphins, so if a team is goin it would probably be the Cowboys because with the amount of fans they have over there it would probably feel like a home game for them.

I think the idea STINKS! Don't take one of my home games away unless they are willing to pay my way to Mexico! :heh:

i wouldn't worry, if it happened to the Texans, you know that it would KILL the public relations department the day it came out with emails, calls, and other things.

NEW YORK (AP) -- The first NFL regular-season game outside the United States is expected to take place Oct. 2, when the Arizona Cardinals face San Francisco in Mexico City.

The game is expected to be a Sunday night contest televised by ESPN. It would be a home game for the Cardinals, who rarely sell out their stadium but could draw 100,000 or more in Mexico City.

``We're working on it but it's not finalized yet,'' NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Tuesday.

Commissioner Paul Tagliabue said at his annual pre-Super Bowl news conference that a regular-season game outside the U.S. was likely this year.

Michael Bidwill, Cardinals vice president and general counsel, declined to discuss specifics but told The Arizona Republic that playing such a game is ``very unique and appealing prospect.''

``It would be a historic and unprecedented event,'' Bidwill said.

Geeeeeezz!! How much more GREEDY can the NFL get??! That simply SUCKS!! I thought it was called the NATIONAL Football League! What they gonna call it now? Next thing we know they will put a team in Mexico! I think I will just lay LOW and not express my TRUE opinion on this subject!

I like how the NFL picked the team with the poorest attendance to call the home team--seems to send the message support your team or you may not have any option but watching football on TV.

I thought the NFL was gonna send pro teams, but I geuss they're sending the cardinals and niners

Don't knock my Niners now colty!! :) They will rebuild sometime before I go on to football heaven! Not so sure about the Cardinals! :heh:

As much as I like the Niners, I will PROTEST, by not watching!! Preseason is OK, but leave the regular season in the USA, where it belongs!! JMHO!

During the first Texan season, I was amazed to find out that a large number of people from Mexico City fly to Reliant Stadium during the season to watch games live.

Having football games played down there just doesn't seem strange to me.
NASCAR has found its way there, so why not NFL football?

Aren't the Cardinals going to be playing in their new stadium this season? Or is it next? If they do open up their new stadium this season it would be a bit odd for them to lose one of their home games in their new stadium. It will be fun to watch 100,000 fans watching an NFL regular season game for the first time on Sunday Night football.

You know I hate it when others bring up the proverbial "slippery slope" argument because it is so . .so overused.

But that's exactly what we have here. If this game in Mexico City goes off like the NFL wants, you can bet your mother's life that they will do it again, and again, and again with different NFL teams. And don't think for one single second that the NFL doesn't recognize the hispanic popularity of the Houston Texans. We will playing a home game there eventually, so get your plane tickets ready.

It's all about the Benjamins.

You know what I don't find the NFL weird any way and I think they should be sending teams to play in other countries every once in a while and I personally woulnd't mind if the Texans went and played in Mexico, Canada, or Cuba. I was taught to share and I'm sure that applies to this too so why don't you guys not be so selfish about this.

Because they're called the HOUSTON Texans. They play home games in HOUSTON.

Let Mexico start their own football league, like Canada!! It's all about MONEY, and if the NFL wants mine, they better not take my TEXANS to MEXICO!!!!

Yes, I am selfish! The NFL is unique to AMERICA! Why take that away!? Just so a bunch of billionaires can get richer?!
