OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP)-The Baltimore Ravens are doing more than merely fighting for jobs at their first mandatory minicamp under new coach John Harbaugh.

They’re fighting each other, too.

Nearly all 85 players in camp were involved in a squabble Saturday that began when offensive tackle Oniel Cousins and defensive tackle Amon Gordon threw punches after running back Allen Patrick was taken down hard on a burst up the middle. All the players surged toward the middle of the field, and it was nearly two minutes before peace was restored.

“Guys are competing, so tempers flare a little bit,” Harbaugh said.

Later during practice, which was held indoors because of rain, defensive backs Corey Ivy and Frank Walker came to blows during a blocking drill.

“Man, it’s intense out there,” tight end Todd Heap said. “Everybody’s trying to learn what’s going on and everybody’s a little bit on edge.”

In a way, that’s how Harbaugh likes it. Seeing two players fight on the practice field is nothing new, but to have the rest of the team join the fray is a sight not often seen on the football field. Yet none of the coaches immediately sought to restore peace, and defensive coordinator Rex Ryan was actually laughing as he stood in the background.

i thought it was big nasty and babin???

so it was big nasty and big failure

i have found that the number of tattooes a guy has is inversely proportionate to how much of a badass a guy is

babin was and is a chump...he fooled Cass and Capes but he looked like a total dbag from day one

Peek got into it with Moran Norris.

Why get personal about it? Casserly and Capers fooled themselves. No reason to be insulting just because he didn't turn out to be what they wanted.

That is his method operandi.

Uh oh, I feel another brawl comin. :doot:

Travis Johnson was fighting an undrafted rookie lineman just about everyday during his rookie training camp. Capers hated it and fined them after each fight.

I know the guys on the radio talk about some fights that have happened in the locker room that never made it public. So, I'm willing to be it happens more than we know

Robaire and Flanagan on the first day of OTAs in '06. Scary not just in terms of the fisticuffs or the follow on body plant that Robaire put on Flanagan, but for what was being said during the fracas. It all ended up about 10 feet in front of me - I was part intrigued and part terrified (think Mike Tyson rant). Kubiak wasn't happy and he let everyone know about it after practice, making Robaire and Flanagan stand up during post-practice huddle and take more than a few choice "I don't care who you are" words of warning from the coach on how that wouldn't be tolerated. Robaire didn't make the final cut. TJ was so crushed that his mentor in locker room lawyering was gone, that he ditched Hall of Famer Deacon Jones' number 75 in protest to take on the cause of 99. And they all lived happily ever after.

This is old school but does anybody remember Lamar Lathon and Spencer Tillman getting into it at Oilers training camp?
