I know Bass is getting the attention but what happened to Wilkerson? I know he got injured, but I thought that he was highly rated at on point but know I am seeing in some mock drafts that he could go in the 3rd or so. Was his injury that severe?

I believe he tore his ACL earlier in the season. So it's pretty severe. He's a very talented center, and arguably the best one in this draft. The fact of the matter is there are several very talented centers in this draft, and most of them don't have the same injury concern that Wilkerson does. So that's a big reason why some mocks have him falling to the 3rd. That's still pretty high for an injured center though.
 
He looks like he could be a solid pick. I think that if he could stay healthy that he could compete for center immediately.
 
well if you ever got a chance to watch any of the ole miss games you would know that the best center/guard is chris spencer

i'm telling you at 6'3'' 309lbs this kid can flat out play...he's strong and athletic the total opposite of steve mckinney...and for a 2nd round pick he would be an awesome pick up for us...not that david baas wouldn't be i just think spencer is the better player

any thoughts
 
I would take Ben in the 3rd. If he doesnt make it back on the field next year, stick Mckinney out there. But if he is able to take over, I think he will be a bigger bang for the pick.

I dont want to use a 2nd round pick on a C like Spencer. We have bigger needs than Center.
 
Wilkerson is pretty darn good. And as a 4 year college starter, he'd be a great candidate to displace McKinney day 1. Assuming, of course, that doctors say he can play at all.

I just hope that we get some center on the 1st day, because as far as I know this draft is deep with Center talent and I would love to get one of those talented centers for the Texans O-line.
 
great player and is a leader on the field. i was hard to see him go down late, but from what i hear it wasn't that bad of an injury and i think he is working out at the second pro day with marcus and cory. i tried to find an article about the injury because i don't think it was as bad as an acl, maybe patella tendon?
