If we get 2 of any of these guys ill be extremely happy.
#79 Dan Connor, OLB
#89 Jamaal Charles, RB
#118 Charles Godfrey, CB
#151 Brad Cottam, TE

This would be a badass draft.

You betcha!
not sure why you guys think Godfrey is that great of a talent that he wouldn't slide that far.
It's not so much that as it is people are always looking for good talent at that position, and he's one of the top ones left. That above list has him MUCH lower than other remaining player lists I've seen.

I could see him lasting to our first 3rd round pick... but not past that.

Top 10 CB's left:

1. Justin King
2. Reggie Smith
3. Tyvon Branch
4. Charles Godfrey
5. Orlando Scandrick
6. Antwaun Molden
7. Chevis Jackson
8. Jack Williams
9. Trae Williams

4. Steve Slaton
5. Chauncy Washington
6. Mike Hart
7. Anthony Aldridge
8. Justin Forsett
9. Dantrell Savage

I would be extremely pleased if we came away with a RB and CB from these groups:

Jamaal Charles - Prefered because he dances less behind the line.
Kevin Smith

Tyvon Branch - My top CB left. Will surprise.
Charles Godfrey
Orlando Scandrick
Antwaun Molden

There is a good group of players left available, and we should be able to net two starters out of the third round. Have hope Texan fans.

A lot of talent left, I am glad we got another 3rd rounder (althought I thought we should have had a 2nd instead of a 3rd and 6th.) Think we'll get a CB next. I like Reggie Smith, that's who I would like to get.

Chris Ellis would be nice depth at defensive end. He can get after the QB. He played at VT so if our scouting department was watching alot of VT, this guy had to pop out at them.

I'm just not a fan of choice at all. I do not think he is an NFL running back. I'll be fine with either of the CB's you mention, but not so much with Choice.
Who do you like of the guys left on the board? Especially the guys after Choice who have a better chance of still being on the board when we pick.

im mixed on him too.. saw some stuff and didnt think he was great but his strength are his vision and cutting back

btw... who are the top speed rushers left?

Pencil Neck, these are my choices for where we are. I would go Slaton over Choice, but I think Slaton will last until the 4th. Charles is the cream left, but we have two picks in the round and I'm very comfortable with our FO making second day picks.

He's not great. He has good strength yes, but his decision to cut back is slow and he isn't explosive. He also seems to enjoy running to the backs of his linemen. He just isn't a good RB IMO.

btw... who are the top speed rushers left?
I'm not sure which of these guys are speed rushers but here are the top 10 DE's that are left:

1. Jeremy Thompson
2. Chris Ellis
3. Kendall Langford
4. Darrell Robertson
5. Brian Johnston
6. Johnny Dingle
7. Curtis Johnson
8. Kenny Iwebema
9. Chase Ortiz
10. Dorian Smith

And the OLB's are:

1. Dan Connor
2. Bryan Kehl
3. Tavares Gooden
4. Cliff Avril
5. Xavier Adibi
6. Erin Henderson
7. Marcus Howard
8. Shawn Crable
9. Geno Hayes
10. Stanford Keglar

I really have no idea which of these guys are edge rushers. Maybe YTF or Kastofsna can fill us in.

A lot of the DE's that are left are tweeners by definition. A lot of the tweeners are the speed DE's that lack ideal size. I'm just fine with a slightly undersized DE as my bookend to Mario. I think Ellis, Langford, and Johnston are the best DE's left on the board for us. I would also be excited if we picked either Adibi or Henderson before the 4th round is over.

THIS YEAR
I would like to get Jamaal Charles if possible. I think his so called fumble problem dropped him this far. But that can be corrected by good coaching. Dude is really explosive though.

I think that's why Mendenhall wasn't even on our board.

The draft still has lots of talent at CB and RB left. I think the Texans really like that DE Brian Johnston and will use one of the 3rds on him then take a CB/RB with the other 3rd/4th.

that extra 3rd is a real nice boost with this staff
Yeah and I'm thinking with the extra 6th they could take a flyer on the first round tallented CB with the wounded knee. another thing I'm thinking if someone is going to have to cover Chris Johnson on third and long a speedy under sized LB might be in order. almost threw Woodyard up there on my twenty.

Throw Tommy Blake among the 7th rounders.... he did loose 20 pounds
and worked his but off for two months. Get the kid on meds...put manning on the ground. I don't care if he is muckabey duck as long as he has a first step.

I wouldn't blow a gasket if they take flyer on Jake with the sixeth. Can't have too many good CBs.

I'm not worried about taking a flyer on the guy or having him sit on IR for a year, it's his attitude that bothers me.
