Worst Free Agent Signing???

You cant say you overpaid someone until he has played. If he is a pro bowl player this year then we did not overpay him. I think the Texans saw something in him that they think he will work in our system. These guys are just writers, and they dont see everything the coaching staff sees.

Free agency is always a crapshoot anyways.

However, for Prisco to rank Greenwood ahead of Kendrell Bell is just...... dumb.

I mean, c'mon. Even if Greenwood busts, he's serviceable bust who can play 16 games a season. Bell..... 16 the rest of his career. >_>

Let's see how ignorant this is--the basic opinion is concerned about his size at 229 lbs--problem, he is listed at every source as 238 lbs. Hard to see how he is less able to stand up to duty than Foreman or Sharper both at the same weight.

As for Bell and Hartwell being available--Bell, after failing a physical, got a $10 mil signing bonus--pay more, get more (of if the injuries continue--get less). Hartwell has been demanding so much money he hasn't been signed yet.

Last and perhaps most important--who fits the invisioned system? Greenwood brings a speed to the position that may suit him and the Texans more than other options.

Prisco, likely all of the so-called experts on teh sports sites and talk radio are paid more to give an opinion then to be right. And how is it pooible to grade free agency before any of the players have played a down for their new teams?

Most writer only look for whos signning the big names and calls them the winners in free agency. I mean mostly everybody thought the Patriots were crazy until they started winning super bowls.

let the writers say what they want, kinda like Ditka, but at the end of the season they all change their tone and say they knew it all along !!! Thats what i love about those guys haha ...

its true. by the middle of the season they will be talking about how Greenwood has put some fire in our passrush, and how they have been keeping an eye on him in Miami and he is one of the best young LBs in the league.

The reason anyone in the media thinks that Greenwood was overpaid is because they are applying the salery and bonus we gave him, to a player of the same caliber who is on the same team that drafted him. The flaw in this is that to get a player via free agency, you have to lure them over. JMO

These "experts" only care about big name guys. Like Minus67 said, they look for the big names, and even though they paid considerably more for the player, they are the free agency winners.

I think Prisco is also looking at how we have used our ILB's over the first three seasons. I heard they plan on doing more ILB blitzes this year. If we draft James, we will have significantly increased our speed at the LB position.

I'd love to see us cut Foreman and Sharper, sign Burress (around 3.5-4 million a year) and draft James.

I never listen to Prisco. He'd find fault if the Texans traded Wand to the Chargers for Ladanian Tomlinson.

Prisco: This trade makes no sense for the Texans who have an upstart left tackle in Wand. And they get a running back on the downside of his career.

j/k
