Looks like Jason Taylor....

This TOTALLY sucks. It would almost be worth it to go after him ourselves just to keep him off the Jags and still address an area of need for our team. I don't see any player at #18 that I would rather have than a Jason Taylor especially if it meant that we kept him off a division rival. How can the Jags afford him and we can't? Unless a Keith Rivers, Brandon Albert, or Derrick Harvey were available at #18 I wouldnt be upset at losing our 1st Round pick if it meant Jason Taylor opposite Mario Williams. The guy is in great shape and still has a few good years in the tank, especially if a move to a new franchise re-energizes him.

I guess we will have to wait and see what the price is....if the deal is just Jacksonville's 1st Rounder we should try and step in and do the deal ourselves and maybe ask for a 6th Rounder plus Jason Taylor for our 1st Rounder. The 6th Rounder would help compensate for the 5th Rounder we lost addressing Center in RFA.

How can you go from Miami to Jacksonville...that would be just brutal culture shock.....South Beach hotspots > bar at Jacksonville's Applebees

actually the talk is now he'll go to the Bucs, so says some local Miami station.

i got no problem with that at all. i feel sorry for you though kast. an extra few picks are gonna be nice but players with heart like Taylor don't come around often. its probably better for everyone involved though. the fins get compensated, Taylor goes somewhere he has a better chance at winning, and for Taylor he probably needs some more team success in his career in order to be considered for Canton. His numbers are on par and is a great ambassador of the game/sportsman but probably lacking in the overall package presently.

One good sign for Fins fan is that it seems obvious that there are more than one suitor for Taylor's services in 2008. That will only drive the price up higher and higher. With the amount of picks the Vikings gave up for Jared Allen that only sets the bar higher. You probably won't get that level of compensation (1st and 2 3rds) but a mid-1st and a 4th seems like its not out of the question.

meh...he doesn't want to play here and his play will never be as high as it was a couple of years ago, getting a potential first day draft pick out of em sounds fine to me.

also according to Rotoworld, miami offered Taylor to the redskins for their #1 pick, #21 overall. but they turned it down

Maybe his little stint on "Dancing with the Stars" has messed with his feet, made him a little prissy!! Never know!:splits: Actually, the dudes not a bad dancer. Jerry Rice, Emmett Smith, and now Jason Taylor, all showing it takes a GREAT DANCER to be a GREAT football star!!!

CRAP!! Something stuck on my pc. Don't know how to delete all those post. I'm trying! Sorry bout that!!

The server backs up at 10:05 or thereabouts and sometimes does funny things. It is what it is.

Kind of an odd time for a central time site to be backed up. 2-3 am are typical. Server not located locally or you guys just don't have any say in the timing?

Yep. Some players take dancing classes just for that reason.....

If any teams gives up anything higher than a 3rd for Taylor I will be shocked.

Can't believe the Jags traded all the way up to #8! So they took DE Harvey and DE/OLB Groves ... but do they have any other draft picks this year? they trade up to get both of them.

Not that I'm excited to be facing Harvey twice every year, but I'm glad they are getting rid of all their draft picks.

They also got Quentin Groves.

I am envious of the Jags front line..... but I wouldn't trade Mario for anything.

I wonder if Miami would take TJ (26 y/o) or Weaver (27 y/o) in exchange for Taylor (33 y/o)? If not, how about a 3rd round pick next year?
