Yeah I'm glad to see him back too. He was very versatile for us last season, and he improves our depth at S.

Does this mean we are set at corner? Looks to me more & more that Texans will trade down. I expect most we would be interested in will be gone.

Anyone else have any info? As a Browns fan, I thought he was ours, but now I'm seeing he signed in Houston? I sure hope not, as I love the guy, he is very underrated, and has just been hurt by injuries.

Double identity? :hmmm:
He'll get worn out when the Texans and Browns play each other!
After re-reading the Cleveland article, sounds like he slipped away from them.

Davis, Coleman, Sanders sign deals
By Steve King, Staff Writer
March 8, 2005

The Browns took major strides Tuesday in addressing their efforts to beef up the interior of their offensive line and convert to a “3-4” defensive scheme.

Linebacker Andra Davis signed the club’s one-year tender offer, the Browns inked unrestricted free-agent offensive guard Cosey Coleman to a two-year deal and they re-signed cornerback Lewis Sanders.

When he’s been able to stay healthy, Sanders has been productive since being drafted in the fourth round in 2000. And he was able to stay on the field more in 2004 than ever before, starting five games and intercepting two passes.

Bringing Sanders back was important after Anthony Henry signed with Dallas in free agency last week. Crennel said Sanders could play corner or safety, but probably would begin the offseason at corner.

Looks like Crennel is doing a good job of fixing his interior OLine. Andruzzi and Coleman. They were trying to shop Faine because he wasn't able to keep his weight and power up.

The Browns may still have him, who knows, I give up

Yeah, it is nice we are finally making the line a priority. I don't like the QB situation there though, we shouldn't have let Garcia go, but oh well, so is the life as a Browns fan ;)

The O-line has been a huge weakness for them. I really like the change in leadership on that team. They will be weak at QB, but they have the foundation to get better. I'm curious how mouths like Winslow II and Antonio Bryant will do under Crennel.

I hope he gets them to shut up truthfully. Anyhow, it should be an interesting year. Do you guys like Chris Palmer there? That is one guy I think got a raw deal, he was set up to lose in Cleveland with the expansion team and no talent, but I think he's a great coach and hope the best for him.

they were right to get rid of Garcia, but their mistake was in letting Holcombe get away from them. On the bright side, Dilfer is better than Garcia, so you have that to look forward to.

In other free agency news, the Texans announced on Wednesday the signing of unrestriced free agent Lewis Sanders. Terms of the agreement were not immediately available, but the Cleveland Plain Dealer had reported that the Browns had reached a two-year agreement with Sanders on Tuesday.

Sanders, who will be 27 before training camp opens, is 6'1" and 210 pounds and was a fourth round pick by the Browns in the 2000 draft. A reserve cornerback, Sanders started five games and played in all 16 last season. His signing likely means that free agent Kenny Wright, another tall corner, has played his last game as a Texan.

Also on Wednesday, the Texans annouced the signings of fullback Jarrod Baxter, defensive end Corey Sears, and free safety Jason Simmons. Baxter, a restricted free agent, had been been tendered a one-year offer by the team for $656,000. Sears and Simmons each likely signed for the veteran minimum.

In addition to McCree and Wright, the Texans' other remaining unrestricted free agents include: QB Tony Banks, LB Marcus Bell, WR Corey Bradford, DL Jerry Deloach, and OT Marcus Spears.

Gotta have 4 cover corners with the spread offenses today. This ought to upgrade the CB4. Looks like my madden franchise is going to make a trade today.

so when our defense is out there with 2 cbs its AG and dunta. when we go to nickel, dunta moves inside (alot of the time to blitz) while 'petey' plays the outside opposite glenn.

that is understood, but when we go into dime to cover 4 WRs what does glenn do or what will sanders do? should there be any position changes for certain packages? or will it just be as simple as sanders covering the slot receiver? :um:

basically im wondering what a CB covering slot recievers needs (size, speed, technique). well i think thats what im wondering. but good signing, i guess this starts the 2nd wave of signings that add quality depth or challenge the starters for their positions.

all i know this is the only time i've ever seen kffl have conflicting annoucements...normally they do pretty good research...this has been a very weird ordeal with sanders...what i do know is this...he is a solid corner and we are lucky to have him if we indeed signed him...if cleveland still has him they are lucky

Sander's name since the conflicting reports has fallen off the Cleveland Browns roster.
There is an identical thread to this over on Dawg Talk (Browns message board)...and since the mess up, their main article was about the signing of three different players...and now they've taken Sander's name off of it and only made it two. Other posters on there said his name was still on the roster on the website, and then an hour later it was gone.

So my guess is that 95% sure that he's a Texan now.

lord after reading the article on the texans homepage and now this thread i am confused, i guess i'm just gonna assume that sanders is ours now !

I disagree. Houston is a great place to play. We have great fans, great facilities, and a great staff.

Why would you say that? Is it because being honest with Sharper and Foreman is a now perceived to a big problem? Just curious....because I perceive we have one of the classiest most straight forward front offices in the NFL.

its funny, at first i looked at what Casserly said to Sharper and Foreman and thought, what a jerk! but Casserly is giving Sharper and Foreman a chance to rework their contract, or find someone that wants to pay him what he is due to receive. he gave them the opportunity, and if they are not going to take it, then he is going to do what is best for the franchise. and it is better that he is upfront about it, rather than doing this behind players backs. He is even allowing the players to basically choose where they want to play, as long as a deal can be worked out between the two sides
