Year after year, we continue to get disrespected and get passed over for MNF while teams like the Oakland Raiders and Arizona Cardinals get their time in the limelight.

It's complete and utter BS, and I for one, am not going to take it any more!!!

We had better get one this year or there will be hell to pay!

NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE!!!!

IMHO, I think the Sunday Night Footballl game has more prestige, now... Better announcers anyway....

Between Thursday, Sunday and Monday night, I predict we get two this year...:hmmm:

Fire on ship, sinking.

Can we have more poll choices than torch the city & I don't care?

Sorry, I'm not from L.A. - Rioting just doesn't appeal to me. :bat:

I voted for rioting because it's just good clean fun. But on the other hand why would you burn the city? The city has nothing to do whether or not ESPN gives us a MNF game.

I'd be upset, but realistically until we have a winning season I'd doubt they'd consider us. Maybe a game against the Tacks, but that's still unlikely.

Look, according to our place as the team with the 18th selection in the draft, that means only 14 teams are better than us (32-18=14). So, we're the 15th best team in the league, at least based on draft position. Now, if there are 16 weeks with a Monday night game, that means there are 32 opportunities for a team to participate in a Monday night game. Of course, each of the 32 NFL teams are not going to get to play on Monday night so some teams are repeat participaters. Nevertheless, if winning percentage has any bearing on the selection of participants, wouldn't it seem to reason that the 15th best team might "squeeze" into the lineup of 32 participants? There is no excuse whatsoever if we do not get a Monday night appearance this year.

If we dont get it...it will be kinda like mario gettin snubbed from the probowl but after this upcoming season they wont have a choice but to put us in primetime. TEXANS4LIFE!!!!

Hey Yankee ya want to go with me and burn a couch if we do not get a MNF game.

:fans:

Just having fun man.

I voted riot and burn the city. Hey, it would give the firefighters some action AND give the city incentive to clean up some parts of the city that really need it, not to mention be a whole lot of fun....win-win-win situation. Just no looting. That leaves a bad impression and it's just not right.

Won't riot here. To be honest, I hate waiting the extra 33+ hours. I want our team to get the respect and relevance that it takes to get a MNF game because that means they will have become a winning team that can win a big game. I am just not sure we are there yet.

I wouldn't turn it down but I am not gonna get bent if we don't get more than the obligatory exposure. Don't get me wrong, I love my Texans and we are close and could make a big jump this year due to our youth and continuity, but I really don't want it till were ready. Do we want another KC or Seattle embarrassment? Granted, we no longer have the scrub DC at QB, but our defense is still pretty much a sieve. The Broncos win was nice but that wasn't MNF or even SNF. Just win and everything gets taken care of.

Kornhole, Kiper, etc. and the rest of his Catskills pals that run ESPN don't like the Texans because they've still got egg on their faces for savaging them and their pick of Mario over their commercial propery little Reggie Bush back in '06 and looking amazingly foolish for it to this day.

The teams announced for MNF that had the same or worst record than the Texans are: Broncos, Raiders and Vikings. The other team is the Packers the only team with a winning record last year.

SO WHY NOT THE TEXANS!!!!!!!!:fans:

MNF sucks. I really don't want that game at all. SNF, on the other hand .......
I would love to see an SNF game. I think the Raiders got one last season, so the Texans should be able to pull one out. Maybe at home against the Titans. That's always a big game.

Sure there is. It's called TV ratings. We won't draw much nationwide.

aaah... sanity.
thank you.

Fact is, its got nothing whatever to do with standings. Its all about ratings; i.e., will we draw anyone outside of Houston? The honest answer is "no"...

We haven't been around long enough to have an established fanbase like the Giants or Steelers or Packers or Chiefs.
We're not filled with drama queens like Cincy or have a sob story (and I mean that in a nice way) like New Orleans. Nor do we have an owner who can't stand being out of the news for more than 5 minutes at a time like Jerry Jones or a crazy spendthrift guy like Al Davis or Daniel Snyder.
Heck, they couldn't even get Kubiak to give the hype mongers enough ambiguous quotes to start a Matt vs. Sage QB controversy
Nobody on suspension or coming off jail time

Face facts gang; Our boys just play hard and that's not very hype-able.

But our day will come.

....and soon.
cause Playoff games aren't on MNF but they are must watch TV. And given a choice, I'll take a string of playoff appearances over MNF.

Arizona had a monday night football game week 1 last year.

vs the 49'ers who were supposed to be a playoff team.

San Francisco 20, Arizona 17

I know people like to think that Houston wouldn't attract a lot of viewing, but there's 5 million people just in this city. I think plenty of football fans would tune into ESPN to watch the Texans play anybody. I don't think the Thursday night football game the Texans played suffered from terrible ratings.

They played SF. SF has the national following. And there's the Matt Leinart hook; USC-exes (especially national champion winning, Heisman winning QBs) also bring the L.A. audience.

Yeah, Houston's metro area is near 6 million, and Southeast Texas along is near 7 million. That is more than like 30 states. Take Houston, and have a game against Chicago or Cincy at home. Away, a Cleveland or Pittsburgh matchup.

Arizona had a monday night football game week 1 last year.

And it was the 2nd game of the Monday night doubleheader. I didn't even stay up to watch that, and I doubt I'm staying up to watch game 2 this year. Game 2 isn't the "real" Monday night game anyway, IMO.

Yeah MNF has lost some of it's prestige, but it's still the only game of the day. Wouldn't mind it at all, but it matters not to me. I think I'm looking more at getting more 3:00 games, especially at home, than getting a Thursday, Sunday or Monday nighter.

Not to split hairs here, but to split a hair I voted no, I could care less. The reason I could care less is because I care enough to be a little miffed we haven't had a Monday Night'er with the Tacks. If it said no, I couldn't care less that would be inaccurate, and the other choice was riots, and I quit rioting when I was 10 after I couldn't go out and play. (Dad came home and took the riot out of me)

one of the options should have been, "would you overload the computers and switchboards at abc.com?"

but since we haven't gotten organized as a fanbase and done that, I guess the answer is already "no".

we will get one soon enough

the AFC South divison is the best divison in the AFC

we have to get love

I'm with you. I want later games...and as many night games as we can handle. The night time tailgates are the very best!

Speaking as a guy who LOOKS LIKE a suspect to quite a few things (I guess I have that kind of face) I can tell you violence isn't the answer. If we want the men in blue on Monday Night Footbal I suggest we write a motivating letter to the defense suggesting they all take Dunta Robinson's attitude of laying in beautiful vicious hits and going out of their way to make "hit of the week" type highlight reels on ESPN. Deny offensives points. Refuse to give marquis running back big yard games, light up receivers like Christmas trees on even the shortest receptions. Let them know that we the fans would LOVE to see this, we're behind them 100% and that we believe in them and get as many signatures as possible on it.
Bear in mind this is only the 6th season of Texan football. Many see us as being an expansion team and they're still earning respect. I believe one of the best ways to earn a man's respect is to put him on his back.
