The Colts have said publicly they want to keep their Triplets together, but recent comments by running back Edgerrin James may have them reconsidering that plan. An NFL source with knowledge of the Colts organization told the Miami Herald that Indy is considering sending James home to Miami in exchange for cornerback Patrick Surtain and the second overall pick in the draft. Another source told the Herald the Dolphins might be more agreeable to a trade that had Miami and Indy swapping first-round picks in addition to the James-Surtain exchange.

if they do that.. then twice a year we will be facing the colts with either Ronnie Brown, Benson, Williams, or (god forbid) Derrick Johnson.

I'm gonna pretend I didn't find out about this until tommorrow. I was having a good day, now look what you went and did.

I would hope that Miami wouldn't be that stupid. Nothing against James, but andI know Miami needs a RB..To me Miami is rebuilding.. and James will give them what 4 years?l Surtain is supposively pretty good and to give him and a 2nd seems kinda steep in my book..
Esp with the rb's coming out.. Miami could possibly move down and gain a pick or two and still get quality.. Yet I do realize that James is established and there is no guarantee that any of the draftees could make it.

It would seem so, there are three running backs coming out that are worthy of the no. 2 pick. Miami has their choice between all of them and they would be giving up way to much, even for Edge. Wont beleive until I see it in writing after its a done deal.

Even if they swap picks with Indy, it's still a monumentally stupid move by the Phins. Giving up the 2nd overall pick and not getting anything other than James in return would be beyond comprehension.

Yeah, I don't know how much water this holds. But now that Edge has signed Drew Rosenhaus as his agent, it doesn't look good for him returning to the team. Trades are possible, and I would hate to give up a top 3 back. But the colts need D, no matter how we get it

This is exactly the scenario I saw coming for the Colts. They made the right choice IMO by signing Harrison first and then seeing if they could squeeze in James. WR's have long careers and RB's don't. The Colts would be smart to put some of their money on D and get a RB in the 2nd or 3rd round. They won't get to that final level until they find some D.

The difference is that Miami never had a passing game.

Now the Colts, I *think* they have a decent QB and a few dependable WRs he could throw to.

If that rumor does go down, watch Peyton beg the GM to draft ANOTHER receiver.... at which you'll be facing 4WR sets all season long....

In truth, not possible. But kinda scary if you had to face Harrison-Wayne-Stokely-Edwards/Williams two times a year.

Naw, I'm pretty sure Peyton is smart enough to realize the Colts biggest need is on the defensive side of the ball.
