David Terrell?

TigerV1

Rookie
I know he has been a disappointment in Chicago, but what about giving him a new start here in Houston as the number 2 receiver?

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Texans are looking to get better right? Signing David would be a huge mistake, and cost the team time and money. I will pass.

I've got an even better idea. Let's lure former Redskins' WR and 1st Round pick Micheal Westbrook back into the NFL. I'm sure he'll bring a positive attitude into our lockerroom, and he'll have no problems dropping that payperview/UCF fight with another former NFL star to become a Texan. Anyone see what he did to Stephen Davis during a fight in practice several years ago? Imagine what he'd do to DD. That would surely toughen him up, and make him the workhorse back we desire.

poor attitude and worse hands = No thanks

Can you elaborate a little for me Vinny. I have to confess I've paid no attention to him whatsoever but my first thought (like a lot of people I bet) was "well who in the blazes did they have throwing the ball to him in Chicago anyway?" and I began thinking that maybe his numbers weren't something you could totally lay at his feet. Then of course I read some about the showboating which I think makes him a real longshot to be a Texan to begin with, good hands or not.

Do you think he'll get someone to give him some $$$$ in spite of the attitude/hands or is he on his way out of the NFL?

I still think Terrell would be ok in somewhere else besides Chicago...I'm not saying the Texans should get him, but a new zip code would help him alot. He might get a new attitude somewhere else....besides...

HES 6-3,220!! :thumbup

I still think he'll be the next Reggie Wayne...take him 3+ years to really get good.

Attitudes can be corrected....sometimes. I think he would be either one of those pick ups where he will either do really well or continue to spiral downward. I still think he has a lot of upside.

I think he would be ok with the Texans but I rather see us pick up a 2nd or 3rd round reciever in the draft instead of overpaying for someone who has so far shown nothing at all.

He’s 6’3” 220 and runs a 4.5 40. Armstrong is 6’2” 206 and runs a 4.5 40. Would he really be that much of an upgrade over Armstrong? I thought you were looking for a speed receiver to replace Bradford?

Terrell has A LOT more natural ability than Armstrong. He just never ever puts it to use.

I don't know what Texans games you watched this year of Armstrong, but he is VERY ATHLETIC and has great ability. I would take Armstrong over Terrell every day and twice on sunday. He has great hands but the only problem with Armstrong is that he played college at alittle college called Arkansas-Monticello, where Terrell played at Michigan.

Here are some of Armstrong stats from the CFL where the Texans signed him from.

2002-Started all 18 games at wide receiver in 2002 with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the CFL…finished the season with 70 receptions for 1,104 yards and five TDs…named Western Division All-Star…caught seven passes for 142 yards and one TD in East Semifinal.

2001: Spent first eight games on practice squad roster with the Roughriders in 2001 before starting final 10 contests at wide receiver…recorded 30 receptions for 436 yards and one TD.

COLLEGE: Played senior collegiate season at Arkansas-Monticello…participated in 11 games, leading squad with 65 receptions for 1,200 yards and 10 TDs…added 68 yards on five kickoff returns with 42 rushing yards…earned All-GSC honors…spent previous two seasons at Tyler (TX) Junior College.

I think we found a diamond in the ruff in Derick Armstrong and I believe he has earned a chance of winning that second spot!!!

PLAYED at Michigan? He set school RECORDS at Michigan. He played his biggest in the biggest games of his career for the Wolverines. Many people seem to forget/ignore the fact the kid drips of talent because he's played on terrible Bears teams after being called on to produce unrealistically.

Any way you slice the pudding, last year he was the Bears best reciever, it's not saying much, but he had noone to get him the ball anyway. He is a major disappointment, but the guy is skilled.

I do believe he led the Bears in recieveing last year. He had no quarter back to speak of and his run game was inconsistant. I admit he can not shoulder the team but with Johnson to do that he may flourish.

Armstrong is a very fluid athlete. The one knock on him is that he doesn’t have the 4.40 speed. He's closer to 4.50. I haven’t seen Terrell play that much but he’d have to be a pretty darn good athlete to be better than Armstrong, but as an 8th overall pick I’m sure he’s no slouch. I agree, however, that Armstrong is a diamond in the rough. He came from nowhere with us even as a great athlete but just a young, raw kid, and he blossomed with us and has carried it on with you. It’s been good to see.

Um, what he said. No way in hell. Terrell's iq is much lower than his jersey number. He's Chicago's Freddie Mitchell.

People change. I dread the thought of the guy signing a small contract to play with Indy. Manning might just extract the best of this guy that the Bears just couldn't do. Or he could the next David Boston. I know I was on the Boston bandwagon for a while, but I have matured a little. I think a team willing to risk inviting a potential virus into an organization might get a decent payoff. Another team that I think of is Arizona signing him.

There is no comparrison to Stokley and Terrell. Terrell is every bit as immature as Moss, has the dedication of a Lawrence Philips and has the skills of a Freddie Mitchell. To put it simply, this guy is a bust. Hope you saved your pennies David. Doubt it. Maybe Chicago Street and San. is hiring?

Terrell is one of the leagues more selfish & immature players. I agree with Chicagotex...he can't do anything but turn us into the Terrell era Bears...LOSERS. :loser
