Hall of Fame Press Conference

Just letting everyone know it starts in 5 minutes on the NFLN.

Probably on ESPN News too, but I don't know.

EDIT: So people don't have to scroll down to see who's voted in:
Fred Dean, Art Monk, Darrell Green, Gary Zimmerman, Emmitt Thomas and Andre Tippett will be the 2008 inductions.

Sorry if i'm incorrect, it's hard to type as they list them. lol

Just the other day, I was thinking Art Monk doesn't really deserve induction, but i'm sure the decision was close.

I can only guess that some yahoo decided since he never even made it to a Super Bowl that should somehow cost him his first ballot induction.

Agreed though, if it were me he'd be in today.

Cris Carter, makes no sense in my opinion.

I am glad Art Monk got it. In my former life as a Cowboy fan, he was one those guys that I admired and respected on a game by game basis.

Green was fast, had endurance and did it with class.

Hall of Fame selection processes are weird in any sport. Fred Dean made the Hall of Fame on his 18th try...I mean if you're waiting that long to get selected, are you really a Hall of Famer? Same with Art Monk. Now I'm sure there's a bunch of wheeling and dealing among the selectors (i.e. "You vote for my guy and I'll vote for yours") but still, IMO it takes some of the luster off when it takes that long. If you don't make it within the first 3 or 4 years you're eligible, then maybe you don't belong.

He remains 2nd all time in Reciveing TDs and Receptions. I have not heard anyone making a comparision between him and Jerry Rice. On the merits alone how can you say he was over rated?

Yeah, thats like saying that Dan Marino is a bit overrated since he isn't most prolific passer in history.

You know who else is overrated? That Babe Ruth fellow.
