Senator wants Answers from NFL

This is hilarious. Senator Arlen Specter sends a letter to Commisioner asking why tapes were destroyed that the Patriots turned over. That is not the funny part it is the letter he sent to Commissioner Goodell.

With the New England Patriots about to playthe Philadelphia Eagles again, as they did in the SuperBowl in January 2005, I would appreciateyour advising me what your investigation showed, if anything, on the Patriots' stealing Eagles' signals during that Superbowlgame.

If a senator is going to ask questions you would at least think he would get the question right. How in the hell does he not know who is in the damn Superbowl.

*ahem*... I'm sure he was referring to Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005 - Jacksonville, Florida... Eagles v. Patriots....

Okay.. then the actual letter was probably written a few weeks back when they met in the regular season (Pats won 31-28) - and is just now being reported by the media...

What's funny is a Congressman worried about the integrity of a sports league. I would think he'd be more concerned with the lack of integrity amongst his own peers.

I'd hope he would be more concerned with the CIA's missing footage from the American concentration camp interrogations.

Thats Specter for you, this guy comes up with some real goofy stuff all the time. How he keeps being re-elected.

Or the missing footage (missing frames) of the "plane" hitting the Pentagon...

Goodell should be suspended for an entire season. At week 10 the NFL should review his progress. If he keeps his nose clean he might be able to get reinstated.

I believe Sen. Arlen Specter had a brain tumor removed some time ago. Might explain how things are worded.

Another example of money being wasted. 45m people with no health insurance, a war that america cant win in iraq and afganihstan, and this old ass guy wants to see the nfl commish.

For the legal experts amongst us, what jurisdiction does a senator have over a professional football game any way?

What they have over the NFL and MLB is that both have Anti-trust exemptions and that has a lot of pull.

Funny but the citzens of Harris County paid out 200 million for indigent patients according to the county comptroller of phiscal year '06...somebody got some kind of health care. Tell the lie big enough, long enough, eventualy perception becomes the fact. The health care issue has nothing to do with health care and has all to do with controll. By the time you figure that 1 out you'll be the one waiting in the looooong line.

HONOLULU (AP) -- NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is willing to pursue any believable information in the Spygate case.

Goodell said Wednesday the league has been in touch with representatives of former New England Patriots assistant coach Matt Walsh, now a golf pro in Maui. Walsh, who did video work for the Patriots when they won their first Super Bowl after the 2001 season, was not interviewed as part of the NFL's investigation into New England illegally taping opposing coaches in the last two years.

"If there is new information that is credible, new material that could be credible that would help us," Goodell said, "yes, we'll look at it.

"We've had people come to us over the last six months with material that we pursued and it didn't lead to anything."

Just another part of the Election year Circus in DC..

While Andy and Roger are up on the Hill on the Steroid Investigation, Spector "Mr. Magic Bullet Theory" wants to grab some headlines as well...

He is another "McCain".. a "rebel"...and he gets lots of press for stuff like this..

He is also one of the most liberal "Republicans" in the Senate, and that seems to go well with Pennsylvania voters.
