Sometimes Alpo just doesn't cut it.

Buddy, a 3-year-old Labrador retriever opted for high-end snacks - two Super Bowl XLII tickets.

Face value: $900 each.

Why would anyone leave SB tickets where a dog could get to them? :um:

I'd have those things locked in a safe deposit box!

Kinda hard to lock something in the safe that was just delivered by fedex.

ahhhh, had not read that part. d'oh!

****edit added:

The mishap occurred Wednesday when Chris Gallagher requested that a courier leave the anticipated package under the doormat of his Avondale home.

I still blame the owner. I would have found a way to make sure that a person was there to sign for those bad boys! Heck, I'd take a day off of work to ensure my tickets are safe.

the shotgun needs to be used on the guy who put two $1000 pieces of paper in reach of a dog, kid, or whatever. I mean, would you leave two thousand dollars in cash in a place the dog could get to?

As it turns out the courier driver should be shot...

The courier instead slipped the envelope under the front door.

Buddy accepted delivery.

Are they still valid? I'd be following that dog around until the rest came out.

Reminds me of "Up in Smoke"

Or the scene in "Gone in Sixty Seconds" where the guy pulls out a huge knife and about to cut the dog open.

That's what I'm sayin'! I get freaked out about my Texans season tickets, and they get delivered to my office! I can't imagine just leaving two SB tickets at my doorstep!

Snatch.

"Open the dog Tony."

"Open the dog? It's not a tin of beans!"

It's delivery guy's fault. Why is it so hard for people to follow simple freaking instructions?

Reminds me of what happened to my cousin, though it wasn't quite as bad as this. For Christmas gifts a few years ago, my grandma gave me and my cousins all $100 bills. Well, apparently my cousins dog likes to eat money and the day after he recieved the hundred bucks, he left his wallet lying on the floor and his dog ate it. They had to wait for the dog to poop it out to get the serial number and take it to the treasury. Well, since they couldn't get the full number on the bill they had to mail it all the way to Washington to get a new one. He eventually did get the $100 back

Really not that big of a deal. You call the box office, tell them what happened, and they issue you new tickets.

We can't really blame the delivery guy on this one sorry. If you had 2 Superbowl tickets coming to you, why would you say just leave them by the door? Get them sent somewhere where you know you will be or make some kind of arrangements. I'm sure this dog has torn up other things in the past and if you know your dog is like that, tape the damn mail slot closed and put a sign by the door to leave them somewhere if you can't be there.

Maybe the guy who purchased the tickets has certain circumstances, arangements, obligations that wouldn't allow him to be able to physically recieve the tickets himself....

Everyone isn't able to take off work or have them delivered to their work place...

Maybe the delivery guy/delivery company should have just followed instructions. Problem solved.

I don't think you can blame the guy for making a specific request in order for this to be avoided and then the delivery company eff'ing up...

Maybe it was raining and the floormat was soaking wet? So instead, he slid them under the door in order to keep them dry. Who knows? Who cares for that matter?

If dude was able to afford almost $2000 for Super Bowl tickets (in addition to travel expenses), he could probably find some way to have them delivered to a safer destination.

Sometimes logic works out.

Most of America could probably "afford" $2000 Super bowl tickets.

That's not really saying much.

I could afford the tickets, and I'd have nowhere else besides my home where I could have them delivered seeing as I am am never in one place longer than two hours. And even if I were at my office I still wouldn't be able to have them delivered there.

But why am I putting myself through the ringer trying to find a delivery place when I gave clear instructions for them to safely delver them at my home.

Sometimes logic doesn't work out.

Riiiiiiiiiiight. :ok:

So you don't think most Americans have $2000 dollars to spend ? Maybe not everyone has the desire to spend their money that way, but I'd venture to say most Americans have the available money.

But besides that, how do we know this man can comfortably spend that. He may be stretching his budget as I'm sure a lot of folks do when they want something badly.

Then why did you say it? :um:

It was in reference to the statement you made.

Saying that "he can "afford" the tickets" isn't really saying much.

I'm not sure how having the ability to make a 2,000 purchase equates to being able to have something delivered to your work place, or somewhere safe (besides your home) ?

So you don't think most Americans have $2000 dollars to spend ?

No.

And it is a bit naive to believe that most Americans have $2000 in disposable income for an entertainment event.

I'm glad you're special and can afford it, though. I'm happy for you. See, a smilie to prove it. :)

It was in reference to the statement you made.

Okey dokey, if you say so. See, I'm still happy for you, too. :)

I'm not sure how having the ability to make a 2,000 purchase equates to being able to have something delivered to your work place, or somewhere safe (besides your home) ?

I'm not aware of too many places where an employee is forbidden to receive a courier package.

But I'm sure they exist, and I will defer to the obvious expert on the subject.

p.s. Look up the word "probably" sometime, and it could assist you in the comprehension of my original point. It is not a black and white statement.

Enjoy your trolling efforts and have a wonderful day. :)

I know a few couples out there with younguns that would be offended by the statement "most Americans can afford $2,000.00".. In fact, with gas prices the way they are, recession looming in the near future - I will venture to say that the majority of average Americans do not have $2,000.00 in disposable cash...

But anyway, that's way off the main topic...

I have my season tickets delivered to my office because I do not want a FedEx package sitting by my front door... If for some reason, I could not accept the package, I would have them sent to my folks house (Dad's retired and home all day), or a freinds office that could sign for them - for me.....

Wow.

If i had 2000 in disposible income right now I wouldn't buy Super Bowl tickets.

Wouldn't you first have to have logic for it to work or not work?

You throw in hotel, food, plane tickets, parking, rental car and souvenirs it would be more like $3,000. The majority of the US owes more then they are worth. It is one of the major contributors to the issues with the market right now.

If you can spend only $1,000.00 on the other stuff - God Bless you man.. In my minds eye, I was thinking when its all said and done, it's 5 grrrrrrrr.

*of course, I like gentlemen's clubs:)*

No doubt about it. Having available credit on a card does not necessarily equate to 'affording' something.

I use to work customer service at a large bank ... no joke you would be surprised how many people believe that or something similar.

I hear ya, I know first hand.. Years ago, I had an ex that operated that way... :gun: suffice to say, we didn't stay together...
