ok ill take J. Long from michigan to sure up our O line and start building it.

and i sign asante samuel for obvious coverage reasons in our division

Home: Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Chicago, Detroit, Miami
Away: Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, Minnesota, Oakland

10-6 and maybe take 1st in our division, though i dont think we will. i say 4-2 inside the division because we are more of a team and will cut down on turnovers. slip ups include cinci and chicago catching us off guard at home...

1. We trade all of our picks to get McFadden. He goes on the cover of SI with Kubiak wearing a wedding dress. Oh, and promptly tears both ACL's in a freak training camp accident.

2. Free Agent? To replace the now damaged McFadden we go out and sign Onterrio "Whizzinator" Smith. He goes off for 47 yards and 0 TD's during the season.

We lose to everyone but Oakland. Why Oakland? Because Al Davis finally gets Lane Kiffin to sign the resignation letter and coaches the team himself realizing a dream he's had for ages.

Al Davis WAS the coach of the Raiders.

I've already posted this somewhere.

FAs Dansby and Randal Gay if the patties don't tag Gay.

1. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Tenn St. FS/CB
3. Oniel Cousins OLT, UTEP
4. John Sulivan C Notre Dame
5. Cory Boyd RB South Carolina
6. Marcus Smith New Mexico, Wr/ RB
7. Glenn Sharp CB, Maimi or Jack Ikegwuonu CB Wisconsin

Way too early to predict records. I will predict if they don't scramble up the o-line we will get swept by everyone in the division agian....no matter who they draft at RB.

1. Texans draft RB Rashard Mendenhall due to CB - Leodis Mckelvin being drafted by the patriots as the top cover corner.

2. Texans sign CB - Nnamdi Asomugha he is the best man to man corner in F/A but will come much cheaper than Asante Samuel. The raiders might try to put the franchise tag on Nnamdi so or backup choice will be Drayton Florence.

3. The Texans will go 10-6 if we sign the right free agents and draft good.

Home Wins: Jacksonville, Tennessee, Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, Miami

Away Wins: Tennessee, Cleveland, Minnesota, Oakland

FA: il go suggs too- gary seems to know getting to the qb is vital
Draft: mike jenkins

next yrs record: 10-6 not sure if we make the playoffs

1. McFadden, since he's the best running back and you said we can draft anyone even if you don't think we can land him.
2. Asoumogha from the Raiders, the guy is one of the best CB's in the league.
3. Finish up 10-6, and in the playoffs.

1. Kenny Phillips - Gets us the ballhawking safety we have lacked since McRee was sent packing by Asserley.
2. Justin Smith - Trufant or Samuel would be ideal but too cost-prohibitive. Justin's motor and technique could rub off on Mario improving him even more.
3. 9-7 and on the 'bubble' as a playoff team. 5-3 at home losing to the Colts, Jags, and Bears. 4-4 on the road losing to the Colts, Titans, Steelers, and Green Bay.

I can't wait to see the Texans play Favre in Lambeau and I can't wait to see the Bears play in Reliant Stadium.

2-4 in the division keeps us out of the playoffs....again.

3. 9-7, and i think it's too much to guess who'll we beat and who we won't. haha.

Like Chris just realisitically don't think we got a shot at him. My pick would be LT # 18.

2. Asomuagh or Trufant would be my pick as FA. When/if Dunta makes it back full speed we'll have the corners 3 deep to compete with the Cotls and Pats. Samuel IMO is overrated but he'll prolly get a nice payday or tagged again.

3. If we play smart in FA and make good draft picks we could win 9-10 games next year. We absolutely have to do better in division next year if we want any shot at the playoffs. At least 3-3 cause 1-6 isn't going to cut it.

Drink up yall, its the Texans!
1. I'm going to sure up the line with Ryan Clady (OT Boise St. 6’6 317). Small snipit from the write-up "Clady is the prototype left tackle. He has a long, lean frame and is an excellent athlete. He easily mirrors defenders in pass protection, and shows excellent lateral agility. He is an excellent pass protector, and should keep his quarterback’s jersey clean on a consistent basis."

2. Asante Samuel, UFA, New England Patriots. From FootballsFuture.com, "Samuel is quickly becoming known as one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, having posted a league-best ten interceptions last season. He has followed it up with six interceptions this season, and while his interception totals have been impressive, so has his ability to stick to receivers on a regular basis. He’s shutdown quality receivers, helping the Patriots to an undefeated record through so far. If Samuel is not signed to an extension, he’ll command big dollars on the market."

Personally, I like Demps and think he'll nail down the FS spot for us next year (particularly with better corner play then Faggins could give). Brown is a better SS then FS and is servicable. This FA is here to replace DRob who I don't think will be fully recovered from his unjury until 2010 (just a gut feeling, but I bet DRob doesn't play at all in 2008 and doesn't get back on the filed until late in 2009 season).

3.Home:
Indianapolis - L - its Indy and they are still an very, very good
Jacksonville - L - I'm very impressed with Jacksonville. Reminds me of the old Raiders.
Tennessee - W - Young is still a one man show and that defense is over rated.
Baltimore - W - Old defense, No QB
Cincinnati - W - No defense, shaky o-line
Chicago - W - Still no QB and the defense lost something when they release Tank
Detroit - W - Its Detroit, do I need to say anything more
Miami - W - Tuna will change things and get this team moving forward but its a long uphill climb.

Away:
Indianapolis - L - Its Indy and it there
Jacksonville - L - See first comment on Jacksonville
Tennessee - W - I think Tennessee will become our whipping boys. Can you say red headed step child?
Cleveland - L - Tough call here. I really like what this team is doing. I think we are very close to them physically but since its there, I'll give them the win.
Pittsburgh - W - I think this team is losing its identity and falling apart.
Green Bay - W - If you can't run, you can't win. Last year was a fluke. Brett should retire.
Minnesota - L - I like what this team is doing as well. I'll give them the win since its there.
Oakland - W - Its Oakland, we better win.

I think if everything goes right, we can go 10-6. Until this team starts playing a more physical style of football, we're going to have a rough time in the AFC central division. A more likely record is 9-7.

The best we will do is 10-6, but I would like to see at least 9-7.

I will not at all be surprised if we have another 8-8 season. That's a tough schedule folks, and the Texans are not quite the team some of us think they are. They are NOT going to fill all the holes on the team this offseason.

I think the intangible is the RB position. If we get a really good RB and he produces, we could do very well in 2008.

Let's at least wait and see who everyone drafts before starting to make predictions.
You're trying to ground your predicts in reality. If you read the rules, this thread has very little to do with reality. That's why I find its very existence amusing.

Last year I had a 2-yr prediction. Texans go from 6-10 to 10-6. They went 8-8 instead, but I'll stick to the 10-6. Tougher schedule this year.

I tend to agree with you on all points except the record. I would love for us to sign Jake Scott if we don't have to break the bank to get him. I think in the draft Stewart and Mendenhahl would be an upgrade at RB but if they arent there then probable OL then CB. I think if we have a good offseason/training camp and everyone absorbs the new system, we could do as good as 13-3, but nothing less than 10-6 is acceptable. I also pray for the return and success of our injured players, Dunta, Spencer, etc. I think we may actually have a chance to take the division. I can't wait.
