is he still on the practice sqad? All i know is that he is fast as HAIL!! If he could ever make his way up the depth cart he could pose a serious threat on the out side. JUst wondering
 
For anyone who's watched the Horns while Thomas was on the field, knows about his big play capability. The rumors are true...the kid is SICK fast!!
 
Well he'll prolly have to impress the coaches first of all, and maybe he will have a REALLY good chance when bradford leaves this year !
 
Can't say I have payed much attention to him. I see that some say he has big play ability, but does he have dependable, make the catch hands? Is he a smart WR ie. able to read and make the right adjustments, able to find the open spot?
 
Well, assuming that he's as fast as everyone has stated and figuring that if he's got 50/50 hands then he could probably step into Bradfords spot with the Texans seeing little or no drop-off at that position. Not that this is necessarily a good thing mind you. Bradford isn't going to be hard to replace IMO but just replacing him with another guy who can fly and might catch the ball isn't going to be enough. AJ is fast too so I'd rather see a more sure handed but maybe less fast guy on the other side than another version of Bradford. Thomas will need to demonstrate good hands to move up IMO. Does he have them?

i dunno i never saw him play much and college and never payed attention to him when he did play pre season, but his hands cant be any worse than bradfords were IMO !
 
Sloan and Starling are both classic "3 year" WR projects. Most guys like them take around three years to develop out of College. I suspect one of them will emerge this year and could be someone we can count on by their third season.
 
My money is on Starling over Sloan. Starling had an excellent pre-season last year. He quickly became Banks' goto guy when the 2nd team was on the field. He also showed that he can blaze down the field as a special teams gunner late in the year.
 
I like Kendrick Starling and Sloan Thomas as well as any WR's coming out this year except for Braylon Edwards and Mike Williams.


Thomas is 6-2 205 and is faster than his old WR team mate Roy Williams. He didn't get as many passes thrown to him as Williams did, but he makes spectacular catches. When Williams, Thomas and B.J. Johnson were all at Texas they were asked who the best reciever was and Johnson and Williams both quickly said Thomas.

Kendrick Starling is also blazing fast, but a little shorter. He ran a 4.39 40 during his Pro Day back in college... and get this.... it was ON GRASS AND IN FOOTBALL CLEATS. And he's tough and has a year of playing for the Texans under his belt.

I'd give both those guys a chance to play before drafting the latest flavor of the month WR... unless it was Williams or Edwards.
 
I'm all for giving both these guys a chance. Gaffney & Alexander, although both awesome slot receivers, could probably handle #2 until we can groom one of these guys.
 
I haven't payed much attention to him but if he is quicker than a hiccup wouldn't he make a great return man as well as WR,kinda like a Dante Hall,I mean I like Moses and all but if we can improve our special teams as well as our offensive threat wouldn't :thud: that be a plus especially on the salary cap end?
