Second Glance this is really pathetic even Ron Dayne beat him.
 
I love how all the people who chastised us for taking Mario over Reggie either are unheard from now or switched to saying that we should've drafted VY over Mario lol.

Uh... what the hell is a slot RB? To me, that's always been a third down back but those guys are usually known for breaking big plays to make up for the fact that they can't bruise you inbetween the tackles.

Reggie, for the most part, does neither.

Regardless of the fact that Reggie Bush is not an every down back, the fact that Trent Green has a longer career long than a first round NFL pick at RB is a little sad, is it not? I could bust a larger run than Trent Green. Come on now. There are quite a few of those that do not inspire a lot of confidence. Josh and Luke McCown? Is there a soul left on Earth that is still going to argue that Bush is not a bust?
 
i love how people say Bush has to be "accounted for" at all times. unlike any other player on the field, of course. here's the thing: if you don't account for Bush, he'll get a lot of yards. great. so could anyone. but if you DO account for him, then he does NOTHING. there is absolutely NO big play capability in Bush at ALL. he's NOT a weapon, he's all the ability of a 3rd down back.

I was on the draft Bush bandwagon during the draft. I was an *****. While I haven't self-flaggelated, I have repented.

Me, wouldn't be worth a squat as a GM.

You know, I got that at the beginning of the year and it cooled off towards the end of the season. The national media has changed their tune from Bush to Young, but a lot of them are starting to credit Michael Smith for being supportive of the Williams pick.
 
Here is what a delusional Saints fan said on another forum:

"Fact is that Reggie Bush is a modern day Gayle Sayers. You put Gayle in the current NFL and he would probably do about the same Reggie is.

Fact is that defenses do plan for Reggie Bush. They have to. You keep talking about his lack of rushing yards per carry and his inability to break a long one, but you conveniently leave out the receiving yards where he shines the best. His 74 yard reception against the Bears was the lone highlight for the Saints in that playoff game against the Bears defense when it was dominant. Without Bush, Brees goes back to being average because the defenses don't have to worry about anyone in that backfield.

You also conveniently forget that Reggie shares rushes with a very good runner in Deuce. Let's face it - on most teams Reggie would get the lion's share and his numbers would be higher (not necessarily in avg. but in quantity alone). So once again calling the guy a bust is flawed reasoning at best. "

I think if you looked back Reggie's numbers would look much better when he was sharing carries with Deuce.

I just thought this quote was pretty funny:

Reggie Bush does get hit hard every once in a while, but not because he trying to run someone over, hell even Dunn ocassionally tries to run individuals over, and not try to bring AP in this because AP looks for contact he tries to run people over even when it's not necessary.

So true, so true. We all know that oeterson only got all those yards because Tavaris Jackson is such a monster at QB...well that and the sheer badassness of the Vikings WR corps.
 
If I was an NFL defensive coordinator, I'd plan for Reggie Bush... no doubt.

I'd plan for the Saints to try to get him the ball as often as they can.

That way, they don't put the ball in the hands of their playmakers, and we win.
