I think you guys are right about MT. bad timing to go free agency with all the good young RB's coming out in the draft deep into the 2nd & 3rd rds you can sign for much less. Best offer maybe to stay in San Diego & back-up LT.
Yes and no on the bad timing, remember a couple years ago when Shaun Alexander was shopped around the most I heard that was even offered for him was a third or a second. Now looking at this years crop of prospects n the draft would it not be conceivable that the price might be lower than some here are projecting? Looking at teams that need a running back that are not the dredge of the league right now he might be able to be signed for a halfway decent price and still have space to get other players like a CB or Safety depending are which tier of talent could be had.
With injuries the Texans need starting .... RB, CB, FS, RG, and a nickle CB. I am hoping Demps is signed for the starting SS spot because he did a better than decent job unless you compare to what we have had then he did tremendously better.
Teams who need a RB:
NY Jets - Thomas Jones did ok but I am sure they will take one in the 4th.
Oakland - Fargas (FA) Rhodes did not do crap and Bush was IR all year.
Chicago - Benson has been a huge dissappointment
Detroit - New OC why would MT go here as a FA
Denver - They change rb more than most women change hairstyles
Philly - they need a bruising rb to compliment Westbroke
Tampa Bay - Maybe? But Graham did very well and Williams coming back.
Miami - Injuries could be a concern, they have holes why would MT go here.
Seattle - Possible Alenander is on the decline, is Morris the future?
Houston - We all know the issues here and we are a team on the rise.
So Adding the deep class he might not be as expensive as some might think because of the lack of bidding war.
