Sausage given away in Blue Lot

Does anyone know the brand name of the smoked sausage that was given away in the tailgate lots throughout the season. We were in the Blue Lot and pretty much every game, two young ladies with a cooler would come by our setup and give us a free package of sausage.

It was pretty good stuff but I can't remember the name. Can anyone help me out?

Holmes... I beleive.

Was it Holmes?
The one's I got (from two young ladies as well) was this "Texas" brand sausage sold only at HEB.

Unfortunatley, I have not been able to find it at HEB.

I remember that (HEB promo), but it was just that one time I thought... Typically it was the Holmes sausage that was given out on a weekly basis... You know the one Marc Vandemeer pimps on 610.

We decided it was horrible marketing, unless the brand name was "boob sausage"

What do you know about sausage other than they like lying on the ground with AA batteries?

What a bunch of hijackers!

Now back to the sausage.
Anybody remembers the one Bum Phillips was endorsing during TC?
I thought that one was pretty good too!

Our little friend Gary just couldn't have enough of it! :devilpig:

Yumm it was great.

EARLS makes it to every tailgate. More out of honor to the greatest Houston fb player to ever play the game, but, it's very good also. Truthfully, in six years of tailgating, I don't think EARL has missed a TEXAN tailgate!!

Holmes is pretty darn good, but I prefer Eddy brand. Food Town has it for less than $2.00 per pack. Kroger puts it "on sale" for like $3.19.

Thanks Ted. I didn't pay attention to the name, but I thought it was quite good.

I'll try the others when I have the chance.

Anyhow, got to the website, and there's a couple of quotes from Bum (that I've seen before), pretty funny:

"There's two kinds of coaches, them that's fired and them that's gonna be fired"

"You don't know a ladder has splinters until you slide down it."

Good marketing technique if you ask me, I would have never tried (Sweet Baby Rays BBQ) sauce if they didn't pass those out one year. That's all I buy now.

After getting home and looking in the deep recesses of the deep freeze, I found a link that we had. It was Blue Ribbon Texas Tradition... now if I can just find it in the stores, I'll be a happy camper.

nflnutswife... you are correct... Sweet Baby Ray's is some mighty good sauce... wife likes it because its not too spicy... I sure missed them passing that out this year!

Actually my alltime favorite sauce is Rudy's Sause... used to be only able to get it at the Rudy's stores in the San Antonio area or through mail order, but I heard they just opened up a store in Spring near Splashtown... may have to check it out!
