Ravens fire Billick after disappointing year

Time to see if we can get some better assistant coaches from the fallout. Every time a head coach gets fired and a staff gets blown up we have the potential to upgrade our own.

That would be so good if the Texans landed Rex Ryan. With our young talented defense, I am sure he would want to come here.

Rex Ryan is the best DC candidate out there at the moment. problem is that the Ravens may have fired Billick so they could hire Ryan at HC.

there will be regime changes in many cities, so Ryan will probably be in the running for a HC job. If he doesnt get the Baltimore job we need to pay him near head coaching money to come here before the rest of the teams come after him as their HC.

san francisco, miami, baltimore, kansas city, carolina, atlanta all may have HC vacancies and Ryan's name is a hot one right now. getting him as a DC would be a coup though maybe short-term as his name climbs the ladder of HC candidates.

Do you guys think he can find his old touch as a OC with Dre and our receivers? I wonder if he can get along with Kubes and his coaching philosophy. We should definitely look at Ryan as DC, but mabye he wants to be a HC. BTW, I'm not too surprised he got fired. If it wasnt' for his defense, they would have gotten rid of him years ago.

Billick lost the team this year.IMO

Brian Billick never came close to duplicating the success he enjoyed early in his career as head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, and it finally cost him his job. Billick was fired Monday, less than 24 hours after his team concluded a season of high expectations with a disappointing 5-11 record. His entire staff, including defensive coordinator Rex Ryan, also was dismissed.

Whoa!! So Rex Ryan is currently unemployed? I thought he was part of the Raven's head coaching search. Obviously not or maybe he thinks to highly of Billick to do him like that.

Whatever the reason, we need to bid for this guy NOW!! Obviously we cant offer him a Head Coaching job like other teams, but we could simply outbid the competition in securing him as our new DC. Make this happen Mr. Smith. Please. Even give him the defensive head coach title if that gets the deal done. Please Rick. Get it done.

I don't want a Denver/Green Bay retread either. Someone outside of the Kubiak clique needs to fix this defense. It is broken.

An aggressive hard hitting defense that plays whistle to whistle, man Christmas was last week, but that's what I want!

Honestly, it wasn't that Billick was an offensive genius, it was just that he had Randy Moss. Anyone looks like an offensive genius if they just had to call toss-ups to Moss.

Did the Ravens fire Ryan? Maybe they kept him like we kept Joe Marciano and Jon Hoke.

The entire staff was fired
