"Tarnished Heisman" - look for it in your Book Store next month

A book which chronicles improper benefits Bush allegedly received while playing at Southern California will be released next month, according to a report late Thursday night by Yahoo Sports.

According to the web site, the book, "Tarnished Heisman" details Bush's relationship with financiers of a sports marketing company and could hurt the star running back's chances of keeping the Heisman Trophy.

Whether or not they take Little Reggie's Heisman, what I want to see them do is nail USC.

I really dont think anything is ever going to happen here.

Nobody cares & the NCAA is looking the other way.

They've never taken a Heisman away. O.J. still has his Bush shall have his. Had someone presented those facts PRIOR to the vote Reggie wouldn't have gotten it but right now it's not only sour grapes but it's too little too late.

I'm sick of the OJ comparison. It has no relevance in this case. OJ is a sick human who killed multiple people, but he did that after he retired from playing in the NFL. Reggie was violating NCAA bylaws when he won the Heisman. If he was ineligible to play then he is ineligible to win the Heisman. OJ didn't kill anyone while he was at USC or do anything that made him ineligible to play in NCAA games.

I know a guy whose brother played for U.T. a couple of years ago while Vince was their offense. Boosters bought the guy a truck, gave him a VERY well paying summer job [for which he never had to show up] paid for his off campus appartment and frequently gave him pricey little "gifts." The guy was a second string offensive lineman who played special teams.
Now if a second string offensive lineman is getting such great "perks" from the Boosters what are the odds that Vince didn't get the same OR BETTER!? That being said quite a few programs are doing illegal stuff. When I wrote for the Daily Cougar at UH a bud of mind uncovered something that could have gotten the entire football department fired. The athletic department basicly broke some laws to hide key pieces of evidence so his story never ran.
If EVERY program that was doing something ILLEGAL was called on the carpet about it there would BE no college football.

That's great that every program does it. The fact remains that Reggie was caught red handed and whether other programs turn a blind eye to what's happening is another discussion. I also don't think that every player was receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars from a prospective agent like Reggie was too.

The "everyone does it" excuse is lame in every argument it is used in and this time it's no different. Reggie violated NCAA rules by accepting a boatload of money from a prospective agent, he screwed the agent over, and now the agent is paying him back for screwing him over. Reggie made his bed and now has to lie in it.

NEW YORK -- One says that rules are rules, and Reggie Bush should lose his Heisman Trophy if he broke them.
Another says Bush's parents -- not the former USC star -- should be punished.
A third warns about rushing to judgment before all the facts are known.

has been in the past.
