Last Austin Watch Party- vs Jags!

BigWig

Bigimus Wigimus
Well this is it y'all its our last game and we are playing one of our most hated enemies, the Jags and its also Battle Red day. So come on down to www.3rdbaseaustin.com and hang out with whatever is left of the Austin-Texans fan contingent. A little birdie told me we would probably have a new home next year so this might be the last time we all get together. Anyway I will be out of pocket over at a compadres new casa viewing the game there, so give some hoot and hollers for me and lets get a win.
Later y'all and GO TEXANS!

I am actually going to the game!! :fans:

As far as next year's venue is concerned, I don't know...I kinda like 3B. But I really like the folks too. So, the calculus is difficult. Now, if there is a sportsbar that happens to be, say, 3 miles, from my house, then my selfish gene might activate :) As yet, I have no such luck.

Anyway, good times and good memories this year. And I am stoked about going to my FIRST GAME AT RELIANT!! :pirate:

well, justy like a few weeks ago, when the titans were on fox so cbs here played the raiders instead of the texans, it is becoming apparent they are just shoving their midle finger at us!! today, ten. will not be on cbs since they are the late game, cbs website says "Teams TBA"...what a bunch of bull, i'm just planning on going to 3rd base, that way i don't get bent over by cbs! hope to see any of you there. we'll go for .500 then later, watch radio and the titans lose to the colts and end their season...that would be a happy f-ing new year!!!:texflag:

Eh. I'll be there. I liked a lot of you guys and I missed that over the season. Our last hurrah for the season! Win or lose... GO TEXANS!

I went to Reliant today. That they had the roof open was just SICK (ie, good). What a great day for football. Surprisingly, the crowd was a little subdued (especially during the first couple of Jags possessions). I remember making a mental comparison to that Carolina game at 3rd Base. (wow, was that friggin' off the hook or what?)

Anyway, my buddy and I were way up in the nosebleeds today. But I gotta tell you, if that is the worst seat in the house, then there is not a bad seat in the house.

Spec, Wig --- the guys at Blue Crew were great. Ted welcomed us and made some introductions. Everyone was...how shall I say this...having a good time. Yes. Having a good time. Apparently, we had just missed a very special pinata. You will have to ask Joe Texan about that, but I don't know how much he will remember. :)

(Sorry, Joe.)

One thing still troubles me...was today Battle Red or not? The team wore red jerseys, but white pants, and the fandom certainly did not seem committed to wearing red today, although I did spring for a #12 Jacoby red jersey. (They did not have a #11 Davis. :) )

I hope you all had fun today.

All the best,
Rick

Can someone who went to 3rd Base please give us a bit of a feel of what it was like for the two Andre Davis returns? Wish I coulda been there... I bet it was similar to the Panthers game, which was CRAZY LOUD.

From the looks of your post, you were still partying when you typed it.
Sounds like it was a very low turnout, and typical of what was late in the season the last 5 or 6 years.
I will work on a new plan for next year but trust me I am not going to stand for any bandwaggoners when we show just waht we are made of next year!
Awesome game, totally gerat feeling going .500 and setting some records, glad I dvr'd this game it will be a keeper.

On a side note if anyone wants to watch some of the playoffs, send me a pm and maybe we can get a group together. Last year our group traveled from bar to bar to check some out and thats how we added a few new crew!

Very low. It was just me and Specnatz and I left at halftime. It was good seeing him though. Definitely cannot wait until next season.

So.. I hear you're talking about moving to another place next season because the price of beer is too high or something like that? Did I understand Specnatz correctly?

If so, what options did you have in mind? I'd like to come along and help find a place. I really missed seeing the guys during the season. We have plenty of time to go out and 'test drink' these places. Mmmm yeah.

If I may... there's a sportsbar on Slaughter in that huge shopping center... great food. Decent prices. Wallopped with TVs. I have absolutely no idea what the name of the place is though. I went there about five weeks ago and watched the rest of the games at home. I had fun. They got the closed captioning under full control over there so I was real happy with that, of course.

Drop me the name and a little closer proximity and we can check it out.
After all Slaughter is a big street ya know, besides I thought you lived North?

I now live in Del Valle and will be here for a long time to come. We had to wait on the home to be ready for move in so we stayed in a hotel in North Austin for about two weeks. That's all it was.

It's Slaughter and 35. That's where it is. That big shopping center where Target is. I'll get the name for you this evening. I'm actually headed over there to pick up some TEXANS STUFF.

Targets in Austin are Texans fans. I love it.
