The city of Houston will not allow people to line up outside the gates before the gates open tomorrow per the email I just received!! Just wanted you guys and gals to know!!





"We hope you are as excited about Battle Red Day as we are and don't forget to wear red. We anticipate heavy traffic on Thursday, so we are urging everyone to arrive as early as possible for Battle Red Day. As an alternative don't forget the Metro Rail is available for you to ride to Reliant Park. Also note, the City of Houston will not be allowing vehicles to line up on Kirby, Fannin or Main St on Thursday afternoon prior to the parking gates opening. "
 
Yikes. Honestly, if commuters are too oblivious to find an alternative route...

Silly COH, all that means is people will be driving in circles waiting for the gates to open, cause even more traffic.

I hate it when my car breaks down on Main St. It usually takes a while to get it running again. Hey wouldn't be funny if I got it fixed right when the gates opened?

They pulled the same thing prior to the Packers Sunday Night game back in '04. It made even less sense then because it was a Sunday afternoon. We all just lined up on Westridge (for the Blue) and they left us alone.
 
This is another time that Platinum pays for itself.

I hated when they did that to us. It seems like they think everyone can show up at at the gates @ 3 PM and traffic won't be affected.

Don't have any type of medical emergency during the hours of 3-4 PM.
 
Durr, the Mrs. pointed out the line ups will be at 3 and not really affect rush hour traffic. I don't get CoH some times.
 
My daughter just called and told me they were shutting down Kirby exit at noon. What kind of crap is that?? Kirby is the only access to Platinum lot.
 
I was just on Kirby. It took us exactly 23 minutes to get from the Blue Lot entrance - gate 9? to the red lot entrance almost to the Holiday Inn. It is a nightmare going from the freeway in as there is only one lane open. Coming toward the freeway, there are two lanes open.

If possible, stay away from Kirby.:gun:

Due to the genius CoH closing hald of Kirby down? NO IDEA why they do that every game.
 
2:03 p.m. Texan_Bill just called and he said it was NO problem exiting off of 610 onto Kirby one lane into the Platnium Lot and wanted everyone to know.
