For playoff implications:

*Texans eliminated with loss OR
1. tie + Bills-Browns tie
2. Browns win + Jaguars win or tie

What happens if Cleveland wins the division and Pittsburgh loses out?

We would have to win out and 3 teams - Cleveland would have to lose out AND Buffalo and Tennessee would have to lose at least 2 of 3. The best we could do with Jacksonville is tie them record-wise, but they have the tiebreaker (better division record), so IF we were to make the playoffs, it would mean 3 teams out of the AFC South were in.

If we want to make the playoffs, here is who you should cheer for:

Texans (7-7) over Denver
Buffalo (8-6) over Cleveland (8-6)
Kansas City over Tennessee (7-7)
Pittsburg over Jacksonville (9-5)

Next Week:

Texans (8-7) over Indianapolis
New York over Buffalo (8-7)
Cincinatti over Cleveland (8-7)
Oakland over Jacksonville (9-6)
New York J over Tennessee (7-8)

Last week:

Texans (9-7) over Jacksonville (9-7)
San Francisco over Cleveland (8-8)
Philadelphia over Buffalo (8-8)
Indianpolis over Tennessee (7-9)

Then we're playoff bound!

Basically, Cleveland, JAX, and Tenn must lose out for us to have even a slim chance of the playoffs.

Obviously, winning the next three games is required, as well.

JAX losing out does nothing for us. We need Cleveland to lose out AND Buffalo and Tennessee to each lose at least 2 out of their last 3.

I just hope we win 7 games, we have a very small chance at making the playoffs this year...but look at it this way... a big play in a few more of those games we lost and we are in it. We were only blown out twice this year, Jags and Chargers, so a lot of hope going into next season.

Always good to dream, but unless the Tacks, Browns and Bills do a complete nosedive I doubt we are going in. At least we are on the bubble instead of being out of it.

The Texans are in if and only if;

The Texans win out AND Cleveland loses out AND Tennessee loses at least 2 AND Buffalo beats Cleveland and loses the next 2.

That's it. The Texans lose head-to-head tiebreakers with Cleveland and Tennessee, and they'd lose the tiebreaker of conference record with the Bills should they beat Cleveland, which needs to happen because any Cleveland win and the Texans are out. The best the Texans can do regarding J-ville is tie, and I think they lose that tiebreaker on record versus common opponents. I'm not 100% sure on that though.

If Pittsburgh loses out, they will be 9-7. If Cleveland wins the North, our game against them doesn't matter. So let's say Houston and Pittsburgh are both 9-7 and tied for the last spot....how would it be determined?

I think it goes to division record, in which case we are outta luck.
