1 Miami 0-12 - Glenn Dorsey, DT LSU
top prospect for a 3-4 defense, a no brainer unless Capers is shown the door
2 New England (from San Francisco) 3-9 - Darren McFadden, RB, Arkansas
rich get richer, causes mulitiple mis-matches then rest of the draft can focus on defense which is looking old to me
3 New York Jets 3-9 - Howe Long Jr. DE, Virginia
lots of holes to fill (four picks in 07 draft) prime trading partner if McFadden is still available but see them addressing pass rush as #1 need with top prospect
4 Atlanta Falcons 3-9 - Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College
had Petrino selecting his former QB Brohm but then it occured he passed on Okoye so throw loyalty out the window & go with Brady clone.
5 St. Louis Rams 3-9 - Jake Long, OT, Michigan
Pace has been hurt, the offensive line has struggled both in pass protection & the running game which Long should help immediately
6 Cincinnati 4-8 - James Laurinaitis, ILB, Ohio State
playcalling leader in the middle of the defense along the lines of Willis & DeMeco
7 Oakland Raiders 4-8 - Ryan Clady, OT, Boise State
long term protection for franchise QB JaMarcus Russell
8 Kansas City Cheifs 4-8 - Malcolm Jenkins, CB, Ohio State
if Malcolm comes out he will be the top cb in the draft, watch for him to show his stuff against LSU rising up the boards.
9 Baltimore 4-8 - Sam Baker, OT, USC
tempted to go QB but they need to also address protection & Ogdon is not getting any younger.
10 New Orleans 5-7 - Aqib Talib, CB, Kansas
secondary is a need, Aqib looks like a very solid NFL corner who should start day one.
11 Houston Texans 5-7 - Vernon Gholston, DE, Ohio State
why surprised? everyone knows the Texans like to draft defensive linemen in the 1st rd. the top 3 rated LT's & top 2 CB's are gone. with Mario finding home @ LDE the Texans need a high motor, speed rushing, workout warrior coming off the right side. Gholston is a solid 260 with 4.5 speed sack machine.
12 Denver Broncos 5-7 - Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC
need help everywhere defensively, would love Gholston but with Ellis still available this would insure improved interior run defense
13 Carolina Panthers 5-7 - Calais Campbell, DE, Miami
bookends of Peppers & Campbell should really help the pass rush, sick really
14 Chicago Bears 5-7 - Andre' Woodson, QB, Kentucky
they draft a QB. Woodson may be good enough to return them to the Superbowl sooner than later
15 Philadelphia Eagles 5-7 - DeSean Jackson, WR, California
Westbrook needs another playmaker to spread the offenese
16 Washington Redskins 5-7 - Kenny Phillips FS Miami
hard not to feel a huge hole now exists & another Hurricane just could be part of the healing process
17 Arizona Cardinals 6-6 - Jonathan Stewart, RB, Oregon
DE is their biggest need but the bpa is JS who would compliment their biggest strength the OL. maximizing time of possesion & keeping the D rested
18 Buffalo Bills 6-6 - Malcolm Kelly, WR, Oklahoma
addressed the backfield last draft, still need weapons this time @ WR
19 Minnesota Vikings 6-6 - Gosder Cherilus, OT Boston College
protection @ RT for the RB
20 Detroit Lions 6-6 - Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida
by draft time Jenkins will be the next corner off the board & the Lions need the best one available
21 Dallas (from Cleveland) 7-5 Reggie Smith, CB, Oklahoma
basicly get the same pick back as they traded in 07 (22) Reggie is a mature defensive upgrade that can cover or play safety
22 Tennsesse Tacks 7-5 - James Hardy, WR, Indiana
Vince gets a big target (also like Missouri TE Martin Rucker) that can look him in the eyes (6-6)
23 San Diego Chargers 7-5 - Early Doucet, WR, LSU
looks good in LSU uniform should look good as a Charger. while he has struggled somewhat with nagging injurys he remains a big time WR
24 Seattle Seahawks 8-4 - Kevin Smith, RB Central Florida
have the feeling Felix Jones will return to Arkansas despite the coaching change to be the #1 RB in the 09 draft. Kevin Smith is a "nice college back" that should fit in Seattle causing sleepless nights for oppossing defenses
25 Tampa Bay Bucs 8-4 - Brian Brohm, QB Louisville
Gruden never has enough QB's. in this case the value is too great to pass on or they could trade down like Dallas did last year with Cleveland
26 New York Giants 8-4 - Jeff Otah, OT Pittsburgh
if they don't address protection for Manning he may go the way of Carr. Otah is a physical specimen who keeps improving & stepping up to each challenge
27 Jacksonville Jags 8-4 - Dan Connor, OLB Penn State
would be a great fit if still available in the same mold as the coach
28 Pittsburgh Steelers 9-3 - Adarius Bowman, WR Oklahoma State
would take Otah if still available but adding WR is also a need. Bowman has good NFL size for the position
29 Green Bay Packers 10-2 - Antoine Cason, CB Arizona
excellent cover corner is a need. Cason has proven he is 1st rd. talent
30 San Francisco (from Indianapolis 10-2) Rashard Mendenhall, RB Illinois
need depth & compliment to Frank Gore. Mendenhall looks like 1st rd, talent similar to Joseph Addai who was taken #30 in the 06 draft
31 Dallas 11-1 - Steve Slaton, RB, West Virginia
high risk reward but Cowboys can take the chance. seems like a given they let Julius Jones walk (would try to resign him & address cb)
32 New England (pick forfeited) 12-0
top prospect for a 3-4 defense, a no brainer unless Capers is shown the door
2 New England (from San Francisco) 3-9 - Darren McFadden, RB, Arkansas
