LSU... *sigh*

You know, for the past three or four weeks I've been watching LSU and thinking "Man, these guys are going to have to step their level of play waaaaay up if they want to play for the National Championship."

They seemed to be playing down to their competition. Not to take anything away from the last three or four teams that they played, but there's no way that Ole Miss or Alabama should have hung around as long as they did. Shoot, Louisiana Tech hung in there with LSU for the first half before they lost the depth battle.

As a graduate of LSU, I hate that they lost to Arkansas. I hate that they're going to be bumped out of a chance to play for they crystal ball. But I'm not surprised that they got bumped. Not surprised at all.

Now, the big question is "Does Les Miles jump ship for Michigan?"

Me, I'm thinking that he does and a couple of months ago I would have told you that I would hate to see him leave. But based on LSU's performance over the past few weeks relative to the talent on that squad, I'm thinking that we might be better off if Miles moves on. Those kids just don't seem to be playing with the level of intensity that it takes to win. If they did, then they wouldn't have significantly less talented squads hanging around until the fourth quarter.

*sigh*

Oh, and McFadden's a beast. It's not fair if he goes to NE. Not at all.

If Miles goes to Michigan, who goes to LSU?

I feel your pain, I actually wished LSU and OSU could have played in the title game. I actually have heard NOTHING about who will take over LSU.

And yes, topic for another thread, Goodell was an ***** for letting them keep their highest pick.

i'm not sure why LSU fans would be so bummed over Miles jumping ship. i said it at the beginning of the year, i can't trust a team this talented coached by Miles to go too far. just not that great of a coach.

If Les bolts to the Michigan job, I'd bet Bo Pelini takes over the program. Bo's name has been mentioned highly with the Nebraska job as well. Pelini was Nebraska's defensive coordinator in 2003 and led the Huskers to an Alamo Bowl win over Michigan State as interim head coach following the firing of Frank Solich.

I wouldn't mind him taking over the A&M position, but I doubt he's a big enough name for most Ags. I would love to have a coach in there who'd bring back the old Wrecking Crew days (another huge mistake by Fran).

This really sucks...mostly because Matt Flynn went to high school just a few miles from my house. I was really pulling for him to lead that team to a title.

Guess I could hitch my wagon up to the other Texas kid in Mizzou...

We could do a heck of a lot worse than promoting Bo.

And yes, Kast, I'm beginning to agree with regards to Les. A good coach would have had his kids playing hard for 60 minutes. As talented as this LSU squad is, they just don't show up until the third quarter and it bit them yesterday.

With all the changing of the coaches in top level schools it will be interresting on the recruiting front for several schools.

Michigan and LSU recruit a lot of the same players as does Notre Dame and Ohio State, so you culd see some kids change where they have a verbal.
