You know, for the past three or four weeks I've been watching LSU and thinking "Man, these guys are going to have to step their level of play waaaaay up if they want to play for the National Championship."
They seemed to be playing down to their competition. Not to take anything away from the last three or four teams that they played, but there's no way that Ole Miss or Alabama should have hung around as long as they did. Shoot, Louisiana Tech hung in there with LSU for the first half before they lost the depth battle.
As a graduate of LSU, I hate that they lost to Arkansas. I hate that they're going to be bumped out of a chance to play for they crystal ball. But I'm not surprised that they got bumped. Not surprised at all.
Now, the big question is "Does Les Miles jump ship for Michigan?"
Me, I'm thinking that he does and a couple of months ago I would have told you that I would hate to see him leave. But based on LSU's performance over the past few weeks relative to the talent on that squad, I'm thinking that we might be better off if Miles moves on. Those kids just don't seem to be playing with the level of intensity that it takes to win. If they did, then they wouldn't have significantly less talented squads hanging around until the fourth quarter.
*sigh*
Oh, and McFadden's a beast. It's not fair if he goes to NE. Not at all.
If Miles goes to Michigan, who goes to LSU?
