Kubiak, Sherman candidates for A&M job....

Since Coach Fran's (Mr. VIP Connection) days are numbered up at Aggieland... there is speculation that both Kubiak and Mike Sherman may be interested in the A&M job...

http://www.footballrumormill.com/scoop.php

I heard the same thing on ESPN Radio this morning...

Kubiak also said last week that he loves a&m and will always loves them but his loyalty is toward Bob McNair and the Texans since they gave him his 1st head coaching job.

The aggies could have and should have hired Kubes before fran and they didn't so they lost their chance.

because that's never been said before *cough* nick saban *cough*

I feel like if we got an OC with a WCO background, it would do wonders for our offense. I'm afraid that Kubiak has too much respect for Sherman to fire him, so it's going to take someone else hiring him to get rid of him.

Do you know anything about Sherman? How much more WC can a guy get?

Well you go look, but I dare you to find a strech play in our offense over the last fifteen games. And....Sherman's offense got to two super bowls. Y'all can run the guy off. But guess what ? The nine o-lineman they got is who they've got. And these coaches decided that the best way to move the ball was to go to the Green Bay power game. You can dump Sherman, but the same o-lineman they've got is who they've got. I've been telling you for four years. It ain't the coaches.
From my tree, they don't have five guys who can run the WCO.

Didn't we already cover this ground a couple of weeks ago ? Blend the threads.
The Aggs are not going to offer Kubes seven mil a year. And even if they did..... the guy stood in front of a podium and gave a very direct quote of no way jose.
Integerty is this guys stock and trade. He takes the even mil. , I won't gripe.

A&M, I have never asked you for anything, but I am going to ask you one favor. PLEASE HIRE KUBIAK!! It would get the flatliner out of Houston without making McNair look like a moron for hiring him in the first place and then we can join the BILL COWHER SWEEPSTAKES. The winning club gets Bill Cowher, the staff he will bring with him, and instant front runner status for Alan Faneca in the offseason.

Its obvious Gary's carebear brand of football isn't good for a young team and we need a guy to come in who has some fire and chutzpah. Bill would own this town overnight and would SERIOUSLY upgrade our coaching staff, which is currently one of the worst in the league. Gary isn't a horrible head coach but his coaching staff and assistants are pathetic....imho of course.

GET IT DONE A&M!! SIGN GARY NOW!!

Sherman's offense or Holmgren's offense? Because both Holmgren and Kubiak come from the Niners and the WCO, Sherman did not.

what is he supposed to say? he has a job that is paying him well presently, but if he is smart he needs to see the writing on the wall. he isn't cut out to be a quality NFL head coach and doesnt have the ability to get some of the good assistants to work for him. most of his cohorts still work for Shanny. He needs to realize that last year will probably be his last year with the Texans unless he turns things around and can get this team ready to play on Sunday. He fails in that regard on a weekly basis.

i just want some good football and Gary aint gettin it done and he has done a woefully poor job of acquiring assistant head coaches to work for him. why are we so damn cheap when it comes to coaches. if we are supposed to have so much resources than why do we have one of the cheapest staffs in the league? its one of the few things you can do to improve your team that doesnt hurt you in the future or via the salary cap.

BRING BILL TO TEXAS....and spare no penny to get it done. if we get Bill we have finally made a franchise defining move and a move that will send the message that the Texans have finally decided to get serious about winning.

Carebears like Gary dont survive in the NFL...so get it done while we have one of the best coaches in teh league currently unemployed (cowher)

I stand by my statement. He is supposedly an o-line guru. This o-line guru has chosen the GB power runinng game. this HC agreed. This offensive line is not tallented enough to run WCO. But y'all do what you want. I'm posting the problems are not walking out the door with Mike Sherman. Once he leaves the problems will still be on the roster.

Bull dung. He has a patched up offense jugernauting to the top of the NFL in passing. Now you can believe what you want. I was born at night but it wasn't last night. He can't play for the players. Either they have the tallent to execute the offense or they don't. They don't have enough money to blast Cower out of the booth. And certainly not enough to make him take over this reclamation project. Get use to it. We have our HC for the foreable future. The cowboys are calling you SH.

I don't care if he is an OL guru, he shouldn't be calling the plays.

You guys are really something Mike Sherman is calling the plays that have the best chance to succeed. Now , if the plays aren't succeeding, guess what ? It's everyones fault but the players ? Com'on. Too funny. Yeah that's right the coaches don't know how to call the plays correctly. Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket. Too funny. Where is John Lovitz's Tommy Flanagan at ?

That is such a bad argument. OK, by that logic, Joe Pendry was calling the plays that had the best chance to succeed and shouldn't have been fired. I agree that all blame shouldn't be placed on the coaches and players do need to execute, but coaches should share some of the blame for the plays they call.

Nooooo, in that curcumstance...It wasn't all the plyers fault...Just DC's. Swicth DC and all things will be possible...wasn't that the company line. Now some Jack ass has the hots for the jaw and is promising the moon if we make the switch. Like what ? When we swtiched QBs ? Uh huh now tell me another one.

I've been here and I'm not going anywhere.... I could use a raise though. :specnatz:

so because I think Gary is a bad head coach (he has made headway with the offense but a lot of that is due to teh fact that Carr isn't our QB anymore...of which Gary is partly to blame for DC being our QB in 05) I should be a Cowboys fan? give me a break. i knew DC sucked when all of you had his Tiger Beat pictures on your lockers and i know Kubes sucks way in advance as well....nothing surprising. I am just not blind and will not homer for someone who sucks just because he is affiliated with my hometown team.

but whatever, im a bad fan and should go to Cowboys because I think Kubes is soft and a bad fit at Head Coach...nice logic.

can you troubleshoot networks? can you show up to a job site without reaking of homegrown bud and Thunderbird wine? if so, i'll hire ya with a raise :)

maybe I can hire Cowher as a technician...yesterday was such a bad day, nothing was working...i could just have him yell at the machines and make them work next time that happens....

Oh yes that's a brilliant idea. Nothing like changing your D to a sytle you have but maybe two D-line men and maybe one LB (and it ain't Ryans) for. Yup, man that usre would be a great idea, deciamting the strongest part of our D. Man I wish you could be our GM!!

I don't think the following is needed, but just in case:

so the defense we currently run IS suited to our talent? wow, it sure hasn't shown on the field....

football is football. all the excuses about personnel and the like are just that...excuses. you act like going from 3-4 to 4-3 is some huge big deal. it isn't. the only thing we would have to add is a true fireplug NT. To be honest, I think both Okoye and Mario could flourish playing the DE position in a 3-4. We would have to add some speed on the edge at OLB but finding those guys isn't that hard....unless your Casserley and you think your smarter than everyone else.

bottom line is that our defense sucks in a 3-4 or 4-3. Cowher would fix that. This guy had people leaving his team every year but could find pieces to put in place and coach em up and get results. No team lost more talent on an annual basis than the Steelers since the Salary Cap era....yet Cowher made it work. Something tells me he could make it work here.

I am sorry that Kubiak is a bad head coach, but I am just telling the truth. A head coach is more than Xs and Os...more than anything its getting guys ready to play on Sunday and hiring/maintaining a good staff of coaches. He has failed on those last two with flying colors. We come out flat and we have a horrific staff...but whatever, I am the bad guy because we need a change and everyone else is too homer to admit it....just like with DC.

I was right then when everyone said i was a hater and was wrong....and I am right on this one too.

kubiak must go...flatlining spineless carebear coaching isnt going to work in the NFL much less the NFL's AFC South.

The Truth is Kubiak was brought in to take over a 2-14 football team.
If you expected him to come in here and literally make us world beaters in a year than shame on you, ain't gonna happen.

We are sitting here going into week 11 and we are one game behind .500 and are wild card contenders...and you are calling for Kubiaks head?

It wouldn't suprise me if Kubiak left for A&M.

After the season is done, he may reflect on where he is at with the Texans and he may think going to A&M is a better deal than sticking it out.

We'll see...

Please spare me the loyalty to McNair speech. It's the NFL!

Daahmm... :hairpull:

Posters on this site had me convinced at the beginning of the season that our problem had been solved... :sarcasm:

Looks now like it was a little more widespread than that...:lightbulb:

This year , depending on whose post you read, its the O line, the running backs, the d line the d backs or the coaching.

A few have even questioned our new solution to the previous problem.

I think the best thing I can do is let this season play itself out before placing any "blame", or forming an opinion.

S.H..just used your post as a good jumping in spot.
