All Day AP

Hall of Fame
He's having another good day, this time against the SD defense. 26 carries 205 yards 2 TDs.

*Doh* He fumbles with 10:00 to go in the 4th quarter. SD recovers.

wow.

what a player! first time I've had the pleasure to watch him and the Vikings, and it's pretty easy to see why he's being heralded as the best RB in the league right now...even with LT on the same field.

legitimate question...is he the best back in the league? I know he has to do it for more than half a season, but right now, he's the best back in the league in my eyes. GO AP!

fixed it for ya :specnatz:

Well it will continue to need to be fixed because now it's 28 carries 258 yards 3 TDs.

Chester Taylor just ran one in too.

Him and Chester Taylor are the best 1-2 punch in the league when it comes to yards. Look it up.

Gotta think these two will stay together.

Does this mean Mewelde Moore could be available at the end of the year?

AP = best running back in NFL........LT has the edge on seniority, but Jesus Christ this guy is amazing.......

for the record...

the Raiders, Lions, Browns, Bucs, Cardinals, and 'skins all passed on him in the draft, but not the Texans.

:fans:

Nobody else likes the idea of getting Mewelde Moore in the offseason?

With Chester Taylor AND All Day Adrian Peterson they won't keep Moore and offer him new money will they?

Oh yea, McFadden is awesome, a great prospect, just as AD AP, but hey we probably won't have a chance at him. We can't be thinking about trading up for him. We have limited picks as is and we need every single one of them. We will have to let him go to a team that picks above us like we had to do with AP.

If Minnesota wanted to trade with us last draft we could have given them Amobi Okoye and Jacoby Jones for an Adrian Peterson trade. (it would have been our 1st and 3rd for their #7).

As far as McFadden goes...he's an incredible prospect and should be the #1 on the Texans board but I see absolutely no reason to trade up for him. I see us having a pick around 10 again and Jonathan Stewart should be there. Trading up to get McFadden would probably cost us our 2008 + 2009 1st round picks...if not more. I'd rather "reach" for Stewart.

Adrian Peterson is absolutely a beast. I can't get over how good he has looked. He looks like a seasoned vet. I would still say Ladanian is the best RB in the league but Peterson is #2. If we were offered to have any RB in the league, I'd take LT first, then I'd take AP, then I'd have to think about the others.

This is regardless of best right now or building for our future (ie Run for the SuperBowl for next season vs. building a franchise). Peterson is a stud for both situations and beats out the likes of Gore/Johnson/Alexander/Brown etc.

Vikings got a steal at 7. I still find it funny that Jamarcus Russell is nowhere near ready to be the Raiders signal caller.

LT is still that dude, but AD is fast becoming a man among boys. @ this rate he could make a serious run @ 2K.

Note to RB: " this is what a once in a decade back looks like son."

Like most, I figured AD would be a pretty good NFL running back, but did not realize he was the kind of prospect that many people said Reggie Bush would become. As it turns out, Bush is pretty good but AD is the stuff of greatness !
He's on an entirely different level and if we had passed on AD in the Draft, I would truly be sick from that miscalulation.
Barring injury, he will surely be one of the NFLs all time greats in his specialty.

Did the guy not impress you guys in college? This guy looked to be a lock for a great player since his freshman year in college.

i was impressed with him in college and actually liked his running style better than some other player that I dare not mention

The college game is totally different from the NFL game.

Anyway, go to NFL.com/videos and watch the Adrian Peterson highlights. They have a 4:40 thread dedicated to Adrian. At the end of the video when they announced that he had broken the NFL record, it looked like he hadn't even started sweating yet.

This guy is something else! Phew!

I thought he was a lock since high school. When a kid from Palestine, Texas (uh where?) gets recognition as best in the country, it kinda tells you to fasten your seatbelt, because this is going to be an exciting ride.

IIRC, the only issue/concern with him was durability. Everyone saw how good he was/is. If he can stay healthy, he will be very special.

I remember when the Texans won the Browns game last year and cost them selves AD, and I said that win was a huge mistake and got flamed for it (The culture of winning or something).

I'm sure the Vikings would trade AD for a win over the Browns

Best single game rookie performance I have ever seen. Probably the best back to enter the NFL since Barry. The guy is a total freak and to be doing this without the benefit of a passing game and against 7 and 8 man fronts is just insane and off the charts. If they can match him up with a decent QB in Minny they could really become a dominant offense.

I had that feeling watching Peterson play as a freshman at OU that he was going to be special. Always hoped we could have drafted him, we would have been set at RB for a decade. The dude is just sick.....bottomline.

So in other words you are condoning tanking games? That is what you got flamed for and you deserved it.

I'm glad he was drafted by a NFC team. I can sit back and be a fan. AD is amazing! Now if they can get him a real QB, Minnesota would be a scary team. Just hand it off to AD All Day.

This is how Earl came into the league. Campbell was rookie of the year, NFL rushing champion and NFL MVP in 1978. I don't think Peterson can get MVP because of Tom Brady, but his year will likely end up even more impressive than Earl's was statistically.

I'd definitley take the loss to the Browns and get Adrian Peterson...however how would that effect the Schaub trade? We'd be sitting at either the 5th or 6th overall pick (atlanta had the 10th) I don't know if we get a trade done or if we just swap 1sts, give them a 2007 4th and our 2008 2nd...I don't know. The deal may not even get done, but I'm sure somehow it would.

However, I would want the Browns to beat us fair and square. If we would have intentionally lost the game to get a higher pick, I'd stop watching the Texans and wouldn't be a fan anymore.
