Kubiak...where's the fire???

Baga21

Practice Squad
Last year Coach Kubes would jump down a players throat if there were mistakes made. DC would get an earfull seemingly every time he came off the field.

Maybe he's just beat down too but show some fire on the sidelines. That's the first thing I noticed when the Kubes era started and it's definitely been missing this past season.

When Salaam false starts...get in his grill, when Schaub throws pass in triple coverage...get it his grill...when Mario isn't playing up to par...get in his grill...and for goodness sakes, when Turk makes a bonehead play to cost us 5 more points than it should have...GET IN HIS GRILL.

Has anyone else noticed this lack of sideline discipline?

The Texans are not as bad as it appears on this board.

Where is the fire crew?

Your star WR goes down and so does your number two.

You have lost several in your secondary, a couple at the S position that you did not have allot of depth at in the first place.

Schaub is playing better then most fans of other teams expected. Your pass game was really working before all of the injuries.

If I have read your injury report correctly you have 11 on the IR! This season seems as if it might be headed south but there should still be allot of hope for next season. Losses happen, let me tell you SD handed the Titans there arse on a plate last season and the fans were calling for blood.

Just moving past the Carr era was a huge step. Your team has improved with Kubiak ....

Think back to the start of the season and how well you played. Think of it is a preview of what could be in the future.

It is no fun to kick someone when they are down .... so stand up brush yourself off ..... I am a Titans fan and I KNOW you are better then some of the down hearted would make it seem.

Just saying.

First, I am a Kubes fan. I do believe he has us going in the right direction and will eventually, hopefully sooner than later, lead us to the playoffs and winning football.

My concern is where did the fire and passion go from last season to this season? He definitely was a more get-in-your-face coach last season. I know that doesn't solve anything, but at the very least it does keep players focused and on their toes.

Holy crap. I thought it was Halloween, not April fools. BA, as much crap as we've run back & forth, I never thought I'd say this, but rep for you my friend.

After stepping back and thinking about it this week, he's right. Time for us to dust ourselves off and move on. Have we had some bad luck? Sure. Have we missed some opportunities? Yes. Have we looked pathetic at times? Absolutely. But...and this is a big but....we've also seen glimpses of greatness. We beat a KC team that is atop the AFC West, we came back from a 14 pt deficit to beat a Carolina team that's pretty decent, and we nearly beat a superior Titans squad after falling behind by 29.

We are playing way understrength, for all intents & purposes, we have rookie starting at QB, and a 2nd year HC.

Give 'em time...for all the talk of 'heart' and 'fire' it's high time that the heart of this organization begins & ends with the fans!

I'm stickin' with 'em for better or for worse.

Go Texans!

This is what I've been thinking, too! I'm with you guys...waaaay too many fickle fans of the Texans....

I'm glad I'm not the only one sticking with them through better and worse..:texflag:

It's sad when a Titans fan comes across better and more objective than most Texans fans.

The losing, criticize everything urge is BS. Kubiak has repeatedly talked to players coming off the field, cussed officials, etc. Disappointment in the results does not justify revisionist history.

Now, why would you go and confuse perception with reality?:gun:

I have seen fire from Kubes also. I remember specifically in the Jacksonville game when we couldn't get a 1st down in short yardage, he pulled the whole offensive line to the side and it looked like he was giving them an earful. Just because he handles himself differently does not mean he is the same way at the podium. He wants to win just as us fans want to. To say he does not have any fire is ridiculous.

Rep to you BA.......

Was it also the Jacksonville game when Chester Pitts gave up a couple bad/stupid penalties? Kubiak followed him from sideline to sideline carping on him.

I don't think Kubiak has lost his fire. I think he's trying not to lose his cool.

Kubiak is not a coach that blows his top and gives the media nice sound bites for beer commercials. He's not going to meltdown in public. Dude was a professional QB behind a HoF QB on winning teams. He knows what it takes to win and what is required. We just have to be patient and give him time to put it together.

His first two seasons with the Texans are heavily weighed down by decisions beyond his control. The owner's desire to give a broken QB another chance, the previous FO's salary cap problems and bad personnel decisions, and a losing atmosphere in the locker room are all obstacles that Kubiak and Rick Smith are going to have to overcome to turn this thing around.

I'm as disappointed as anyone, not even sure what I expected this season and why. But that doesn't change the fact that I'm a Texans fan for life, and we just have to ride the storm out.

You fellas are right! I guess the early success and my desire for this team to play some consistent winning football have really skewed my expectations. Also, the way this team seems to be imploding has been really tough to watch.

While I do stand by my comments...I do see this team improving and I am damn proud to have Kubiak and Smith leading the charge for us. I also am a Texan fan for life, good and for now, bad.

I must have been reading this MB too long and I need to take a deep breath and calm down. Thanks for smacking some sense back into me!

Serenity now! Serenity Now!!!!!!

This helps

Go Texans!

In the same breath, we got beat by an inferior Atlanta team. Beat down by Jaxsonville. Looked lost and dumb founded against San Diego. Our game plans for some of the games has made you scratch your head in awe. For any good we have done, we have an equal amount of bad. Go Texans.

Our game plans have been irrelevant to the last two games. Turn the ball over 11 times in two games and you will have two L's 99.99999999% of the time.
