Echemandu out for Oakland?

Latest off the chronic:

Echemandu's 62 rushing yards on 10 carries in his debut provided a lone ray of hope on an otherwise dreadful afternoon against the Chargers, but such is the Texans' luck of late that he may not be able to play against the Raiders Sunday because of a pulled hamstring.

An MRI Monday, he said, ``showed a deep contusion'' in the muscle, which he apparently damaged the first time he ran the ball in San Diego. That he found a way to run it nine more times, breaking one for 20 yards, speaks to his toughness and desire.

BOOOOO!!!!!!

I guess that covers the results of the MRI.

anyone know what a contusion is? sounds like it sucks...

well, if he can run 10 times against san diego maybe he'll run 10 times against oakland? i hope so, seeing somebody run that fast made me pee my pants a little the first time it happened...scary...

Deep contusion of the muscle and pulled hamstring are not the same thing. Sounds like they thought it was a hamstring on the sideline and the MRI shows a deep bruise. I'll bet he plays. Funny how all the sudden when he was in there were holes. In addition to being slow, Dayne has very little vision--bad combination.

I sincerely hope that you are correct! He really was a bright spot on Sunday and I'd love to see him run roughshod over the Raiders.

I know this is "old school" - but give the guy a shot (both kinds) and let him play - he has a week off to let the bruise get better - this is no time for sitting out due to a bruise - for goodness sakes.

As one of my fathers-in-law said, "Forget your broken leg - just go run the ball down the field."

We need a little old school, smash mouth football around here.

Would that be similar to rub some dirt on it or as my coach would say - put some tape over it and get back out there?

I think those 62 yards will live forever on this board. Hopefully he can give us some consistency - something we lack.

Ah, Football!
No we have Cook and Leach, granted they are classified as FB but at this point it seems it is all we got.
Too bad Abbate went on IR. I betcha he could grind out some yards. That guy has the heart of a lion and could probably play any position on the field. I loved watching him in practice. The guy is a scrapper. :cowboy1:

What is weird about the article is that it says he is likely going to miss the Raiders game because of a hamstring strain, but then the MRI says deep contusion of the muscle.

Wha?

If Darius Walker doesn't get activated for this game, there isn't a game he will ever get activated for.

We're the KING of sitting players out because of slight injuries.

After all, we want to make sure they are fresh for the playoffs.

Then get him off the practice squad and get someone else there. If he can't be useful when injuries occur why even have him around.

It's go time!
From yesterday's practice quotes:
".......running back Adimchinobi Echemandu (hamstring) practiced at full speed today, as did running back Ron Dayne."

Sounds good for Ichy. So Dayne practiced falling over at 10mph?

That's hilarious! Don't you think 10mph might be too generous?
