Van Pelt still clinging to the dream...

BVP, on behalf of all of us who were subjected to watching you play this preseason: PLEASE GIVE UP ON TRYING TO PLAY QB!

"Former CSU star and backup Broncos quarterback Bradlee Van Pelt is living in Santa Barbara, Calif., and considering whether to play in the Canadian Football League as a quarterback next year. If Van Pelt tries to return to the NFL, he may have to consider making a switch to safety."

Or, may I offer the Dr. Seuss version:

You can't play QB here, you can't play QB there. In fact, you can't play QB anywhere.

So switch to safety, play the deep ball now. You've no QB skills and could miss the broad side of a cow!

At QB, you're an abomination. An embarrasment at best. So switch to safety and give this QB dream a rest!

Has any QB every made the switch to FS and made an NFL team. Crouch and the guy we drafted from Nebraska both failed.

Nolan Cromwell was a Kansas QB and went on to become a Pro bowler and NFC Defensive Player of the Year in 1980...probably the most successful switch from QB to FS (played for the Rams).

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that. Is it safe to assume he was an option Qb in college?

Different position I know, but I think Mike Furrey the Detroit Lions Wide Receiver is mightily impressive.

Coming into the League as a Receiver, converting to Safety when the Rams needed help in depth and ended up starting before going back to Receiver with the Rams to have a thousand yard season.

Some guys just have it.

Minnesota Vikings
He was selected in the 4th round (98th overall) of the 1987 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots, who envisioned converting him to a defensive back. Gannon balked at the idea, and he was quickly traded to the Minnesota Vikings. After two years of playing sparingly, Gannon became the Vikings' starting quarterback in 1990, displacing incumbent Wade Wilson, until he was passed over for Sean Salisbury towards the end of the 1992 season.

So he did..

Bill Bradley, who got beat out at UT by James Street was an excellent Safety for the Eagles for many years. Why does an Aggie have to bring this up? Are all the teasips asleep or just a bunch of kids who can't remember anything before VY ?
