Grady Jackson?

GP

Go Texans!
Grady Jackson: Large defensive player was cut by Falcons.

Too lazy to give the link.

He's 678 lbs., which would beef up a light dline we currently have.

13 tackles for loss last season. Considered to be a massive run stopper.

Yeah he's coming down. That was before breakfast this morning though so take it with the proverbial grain of salt. He might be back over 700lbs if he went with the Big Country Breakfast.

I've got an extra 10 bucks around here. I'll kick that in towards a signing bonus.

"I didn't just sign a lucrative deal where I can sit around and watch this ship sink," Hall said. "I can't do that. I've got one more year on my deal. I feel as though I can go out and get a ton of money, whether it's here of somewhere else. I've got a lot of stuff to play for."

Leon can't feed the family on that 1st round rookie contract. Leon has to get paid. Leon can't get paid if one of those other guys don't jump on the ball.

*cough.. deangelo.. cough*

but yeah it looks like he wants to be traded this offseason

He's 35? I'd rather go with the youth we have then bring in a player cut by a bad 1-5 team.

How old is Zgonina? He's a 14 year veteran and Grady Jackson is an 11 year veteran. Grady Jackson is bigger than Zgonina and also led the league in Tackles for losses last year with 13. He currently has 5.5 and was on pace for 12.5 this year before being cut.

He would look great in Battle Red, Deep Steel Blue, and Liberty White.

No way. He is easily the most overrated player in football. In his career, he has shut down exactly one big time receiver (TO), but that same receiver owned him the next time they played.

He promotes himself as great, when the truth is he's mediocre.

I can't stand Hall but after reading that whole article I can see where players would be concerned. I'm not sure if Petrino was the man for that job. some guys are better with college kids.

Exactly.

He has blazing speed which allows him to make up for his mistakes, but anyone who says he is a shutdown corner, isnt watching.

I do not think anyone is saying sign him to a multi-year deal but what would the rest of the season matter. Besides he would be cheap.
Actually, I think he'll be a bit on the expensive side for us. There's no reason to suspect that he'll be cheap. The guy led the league in tackles for a loss and was on his way to leading the league once again this season. He was doing his job and then he was pushed out of Atlanta.

I want Grady. Bad. I don't think he's coming. Do we have the cap room? I really don't think so. I really think that Grady is just what we need alongside Mario.

Isn't he like 40?
He's 35 and an eleven year veteran who was leading the team in tackles for loss with 5.5 to go along with his league leading 15 tackes for a loss last season. I don't know. I don't think he's just about ready to be pushed towards retirement if that's what you're getting at.

My point was he'd just be a band-aid, unless he brings intangibles like leadership or a coaching ability to the team. If he can be leveraged as a teacher first, then he might be worth taking a look at.

I would hope that an 11-year veteran could teach Amobi & TJ somethin over the course of a year.

He's from Atlanta. Not to knock their team but I'm not so sure that they're team players over there. There's a huge 'me' mentality on that team. A buncha thugs. I still want Grady. Bad.

He has been there for a year and a half. The other 10 years of his career were spent in Oakland, Green Bay and New Orleans.

Titans are losing Simon so I am sure they will make a push for Grady, and if makes them not get him I am all for signing him.

The way Jeff Zgonina was thrown around like a rag doll the other day, I'm willing to replace him with a better run stuffer. We need a big heifer or two to clog the middle.:)

Agreed 100%. Don't let him get to the tacks!

"After eight NFL seasons, Titans defensive tackle Corey Simon is ready to call it a career. Simon informed the Titans on Wednesday he plans to retire from the NFL, according to sources familiar with the situation. He is expected to make an official announcement today. The Titans signed the former Pro Bowl selection on Aug. 28, but he has played in only four games, was used sparingly and credited with one tackle. Simon was not on the practice field Wednesday because of what was called a "team decision" on the injury report. Coach Jeff Fisher and Simon could not be reached for comment on Wednesday night. The agent for defensive tackle Grady Jackson, released by the Falcons this week, said the Titans are among the teams who have expressed interest in the 11th-year veteran. Tennessee's level of interest is unclear, however."

He knew it was Deangelo, he was just quoting the "Leon" from the Budweiser commercials a couple years ago.

The only reason the Titans are losing Simon is because he isn't playing much. I think he has only 1 tackle the whole year. The Titans don't exactly have a hole to fill.

What is so funny about Oakland? They happen to have a very good defense. Now, if you were talking about offense then you'd have something to laugh about there. As for New Orleans, their defense is in shambles this year but they have been pretty good in the past. I'm not sure when he played for them. They might have been good while he was there.
