10 random thoughts from Week 7

1) We need a new O-line. That's not that random or surprising. Or even original. I just wanted to say it. I have no suggestions on where to get one other than maybe Sam's Club.

2) Adrian Peterson v1.0 (Chicago version) looks an awful lot like Whoopie Goldberg.

3) Do you ever wonder what Minnesota might be able to do with Adrian Peterson v2.0 and that defense if they actually had a QB other than Tarvaris Jackson or Brooks Bollinger? Maybe THEY should have beaten Carolina to the punch and signed Testaverde....

4) The New England v. My-am-uh matchup today was interesting. If I'm a Dolphins fan, I'm wondering if the hated Patriots have a chance be the second team to go undefeated while the current Dolphins go winless. I'd have to imagine that if that happened, Don Shula's head would explode and Miami would fall into the ocean. Unlikely for the 'Phins to lose 'em all, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Pats ran the table.

5) Priest Holmes. 4 carries for 9 yards. 1 reception for -6 yards. It's an unimpressive stat line but considering this man truly beat the odds to even make it back on the field, I'd have to say its pretty impressive.

6) It could be worse. We could be Arizona fans. Oh, and we have better uniforms than the Bengals. That counts for something, right?

7) The Philidelphia Eagles "get it." They kicked away from D. Hester all day and he's got 0 return yards. Apparently they got the memo.

8) One plus that came from all of the Texan fans bailing out of Reliant early: There was plenty of quiet for Sage to run the offense.

9) Think Schaub had a bad day at the office? Try Mark Bulger's day: 2 picks and 7 sacks. And if he got sacked 7 times, he probably got rolled something like 817 times. I bet his ribs feel AWESOME!

10) That loss today was a real back-breaker. I'm not sure what to say about it other than I hope the team can rebound.

going winless sounds fine to me. let's get Glenn Dorsey and turn things around.

but i don't think we go winless with our offense actually being kind of decent. well, Ronnie Brown hurt his knee, so if that's significant, then no, we go winless. big time.

Do you think Cam Cameron is on the hot seat?

And yeah, I'm looking forward to the offseason already, too. Maybe a nice pass rusher or WR in the draft.

I'm hoping Alex Smith is healthy next week....today's game was pretty tough to watch at times. Patrick Willis is playing pretty good though.

How many coaches have gone winless and still kept their job? (disregarding expansion teams).

I don't know, but he is only in his first year, so maybe the owners will give him a pass. And I don't think that they're that bad of a winless team...ex not as bad as the Raiders of last year.

Cameron is fine, the offense has been MUCH better since he's arrived. pretty much everyone else should go. the defense is miserable, so Dom Capers is gone. the special teams has been awful for the past 4 years, so Keith Armstrong is gone. possibly GM Randy Mueller. etc.

I'm hoping he's not.

Seriously though, what's the likelyhood of him starting do you think? Also, I had heard that Gore went down early in the game with an ankle but got back in the game, you think it will affect him this coming weekend?

We lost our starting center, Faine, against Atlanta yesterday. Didn't appear really serious, but I'm not sure of his status for Sunday at all.

The Dorsey I saw on the sidelines alot of the LSU game because he was banged up?

Man, for home games I don't get to see a lot of football. Memo to self...get DVR!!!

So I'll have to cut my random thoughts down to 5.

1) Was there a better team in all of football...for one quarter, than our Houston Texans?

2) Was there a worse team in all of football...for 3 quarters, than our Houston Texans?

3) I'm getting a little sick and tired of New England sports.

4) Thanks to New England sports, specifically pro football, my fantasy team did well this week, provided Harrison and Taylor don't have monster games tonight.

5) Well, shoot, I guess I'm going to have to cut it to 4.

You and me both. But those Pats are so freakin' good.

Can we just fast forward to their game against the Colts, call it the Super Bowl and spend the rest of the year playing for the rights to give Tony Kornheiser an atomic wedgie on the 50 yard line of the winning team's home field?

I'd have to think that would bring out some inspired play!

^^^yes.....but it is...I enjoyed walking around the yellow lot trading verbal jabs with fans......it was all in good fun so...........

nah...it didn't really matter to me, I'm actually glad the Texans came back and made it a close game, because I want to get my moneys worth...I was high fiving texans fans when the texans went ahead and I did the same with titans fans when they went ahead.......as I have said before I'm not a diehard Texans or Titans fan (but I am a diehard VY fan) so I was happy either way...especially since Vince wasn't playing.

First off, Alex Smith is probably 50/50 at starting this week. If he starts, our offense would be better....but probably not much. Our entire offense looks horrible under our new offensive coordinator.

Frank Gore did in fact go down against NY. He hurt his ankle, but only sat out for a couple of plays, even though his ankle wasn't ready. Apparently he needed assistance getting to the locker room after the game. Right now, it looks like he is going to play Sunday, but not practice too much in the days leading up to the game.
