So what do you think about Kubiak now ?

You have to give Kubiak an "A" for honesty, for candor as he admits that he did a horrible job getting the offense ready for yesterdays game. And then he goes on to admit that the game-time adjustments were "too little too late".
But these kind of admissions are starting to get too routine, which is not a good thing needless to say. And I wonder what big Bob McNair is thinking about now regarding his decision to hire Kubiak ?
 
For the past 4 weeks the team has not been ready to play if you ask me. While it is nice for Coach to fall on the sword for his team, it really is starting to shake my confidence in him. The way he continues to call the same gameplan even though it is not working is pissing me off. All sports require adjustments, being stubborn makes you predictable and gives you losses.

I have to keep reminding myself that just as Mario is in his 2nd year, so is his head coach.
 
I don't care if he keeps admitting that he's done a poor job for the next 4 weeks.

I mean I want the wins, but I don't care how routine this is, or is getting. I assume, if he keeps admitting it, he is conitnuing to at least try to get better.

Of course I expect it to pay off, but I have a feeling with Kubiak, that when it does, it's going to pay off for a long, long time.
 
I personally like Gary Kubiak. He's honest, and does not play favorites.

Having said that, there is a trend developing with his not being able, or willing, to make adjustments to what the other team is doing to his offense. Maybe he is learning on the job, but the adjustments need to come much earlier.

I am very interested to see how the rest of the season plays out.
 
Kubiak appears to be stuck in "the formula should work, it is going to work, and we are going to keep doing it until it works" mindset. He seems incredibly stubborn about this. But, it isn't working and, with our personnel, it ain't gonna any time soon. And while he does say it is all on him - which is great - he isn't taking that next step of changing what he is or isn't doing. I find this bothersome.

On the plus side, he has the potential to be a great coach, he has brought heart, a never give up attitude, some good players and he isn't stupid. The question is how many times does he have to run into a wall before he figures out a way to get around that wall?

Even though the future of this season looks pretty grim, don't give up on Kubiak yet.:heart:

One thing I learned from this game is that this team will surprise you when you least expect it.:texflag:

I'm betting Kubiak finds a way around that wall.
 
I'll admit his statements bother me. This is the second week in a row I've heard him admit this....last week he admitted it about clock management. The reason it bothers me so much is that the last few opponents haven't been that complicated. This isn't the Colts. I mean Atlanta, Miami and the Titans aren't exactly high scoring teams and besides the Titans this week their defenses haven't been exactly ones that are shutting teams down. Yet we look lost and confused. I think we are past the point of "unprepared." That bothers me. I still think Kubiak is a winner and that we will do well. I just don't like what I'm seeing.
 
Its funny coaches always have this same similar quote post game when they lose and this seems to be Kubiaks.

"This loss was on me, its my job to get the guys ready and prepared..." every time we lost this year i've heard it.

The Titans secondary was always suspect, I think we saw the Texans try to attack them earlier it just didn't work then, but boy did it work in the 4th qtr.
 
My confidence in Kubiak is definitey shaken....but not broken.

Notwithstanding the 4th quarter yesterday, you have to really be concerned about the way this team has come out and played the past four or five games. Ever since I was in middle school I have always heard that three indicators of poor coaching are turnovers, penalties and missed tackles. This team excels in all of these areas.

I don't think we have the horses yet, but I still feel like this team under-performs and it is incredibly frustrating.
 
We're a work in progress. Kubiak makes some mistakes, but he's done so many other good things for us so far. All in all he's getting a big PLUS in my book.
 
I think Kubes had pretty much proved he won't be the coach to win us a championship, but he can build a good team for the next guy that can
 
I still have confidence in Kubiak. While I do feel that he has to improve his adjustments, I think he can only do so much. We know Kubiak would love to run the ball in order to open up the passing game but that's just not happening. Ahman Green has been a major disappointment as has the run blocking. I think he did a terrible part yesterday of having the offense ready to go, but as a whole I think he's done pretty well with what he has to work with. It kinda sucks having to throw the ball 40 times each game.

My thoughts exactly. We are turning it around, it's just going to take a little time. We need a few more pieces, but we are definitely on the correct path.

Yes Kubiak tries hard to feed the Kool-aid and I see some of you are buying it.

He has yearly speeches it seems.

This year's theme is 'It's my fault'

Last year it was 'David and I still have some work to do.' and 'I'm looking for offensive lineman that can play more of a 'swing' role.'

Whatever.

Kubiak is a tool when it comes to press conference the least he could do is say something to fire up the team, even if it means calling someone out.

Just be honest and have a press conference that goes like this

'Our running game sucks, our o-line is not doing it's job and Ahman Green is not the answer. Sage is better than Schaub and he proved it yesterday. The defensive line of first round picks needs to play like it, they need to pressure the quarterback, or, I'm afraid, we will not win another game this year. Go Aggies.'

I've mentioned to some friends that his demeanor kind of bothers me. I can't see Marty Schottenheimer or Bill Parcells look so defeated all the time. His body language doesn't really impress me and he doesn't come across as confident all the time. He does everything wrong from looking down at his feet so much to not giving the appearance that he is confident at times with his body language... till now I figured that the "aw shucks" disposition wasn't hurting the team. Not sure it does now, but it's something that may point to broader issues.

My initial reaction when I read this Vinny was..."Vinny, you are reading way too much into this....." But then I remember what McClain told me a few years ago out in the parking lot. That was, that Kubiak had these issues (i.e. body language and being 'in front' of the cameras etc.) that prevented him from getting the job 6 years ago (of course no HC experience factored into to)
