I think the outcome could have easily been the opposite. Indy's D couldnt stop the run, even when they knew it was a run.

Mannings recievers couldnt catch a cold. And they just couldnt seem to get up to speed in the cold.

Tom Brady is a great QB as well.
 
I would bet if you looked at Montana vs. Marino in terms of stats, you would come away with a similar misconception.

Very true. To Mannings defense a little I don't like fans that lay it all at the lap of the QB either. Marino and Manning are both excellent QB's. All year long, folks knew the biggest key to beating Indy and couldn't get it done--grind out long drives and keep Manning off the field. The Pats got it done. Manning wasn't on the field when the Patriots used up almost half the game on just 3 drives. This failure lays at the feet of management that decided an explosive offense was all that mattered.

Don't know if it is true, but saw an NFL trivia fact on some website that said the difference in salaries between Manning/Harrison & Brady/Brown would pay the entire Pats starting D.

I think that was just overhyped stuff for the media to talk about. The New England field has heaters in it to help thaw and dry the field. Plus, an NFL inspector looked at it and said it passed muster. Last, some variation is what home-field advantage is about. The Steelers being used to swirling winds, the Colts with the only astroturf stadium left and the Patriots with snow for the playoffs.
 
There is one thing that Brady has that Manning doesnt. It is called the Patriots defense.

Manning is the better QB, Brady plays on the better team.

it didnt help us when we kept the painted mud in there...it just got us another loss and alot of complaints.

while your at it. Get a few of those high powered fans at each end of the field.
 
Manning is part of a team of champions while Brady is part of a champion team. Looking at the number of Superbowl rings each has it should be obvious who is the better QB overall (statistics or not aside)...

Yup, that's the bottom line. Just as Marino and Elway and others were always better than Montana, but Montana had the good fortune to be on the better team, usually the best team and they overstated and distorted his perceived abilities just as the Pats do for Brady.
 
Brady is 6-0 V.S. the Dolts including the play-offs , that in turn makes Manning 0 for 6 ..... no denying the fact who's the winner there .

At the same time, I'm not convinced the Pats would've won two superbowls with Manning at the helm. But then again what if's don't really matter, superbowl rings do. Brady has two (with a decent chance of three), Manning has zero. And Brady has done it with less offensive weapons, IMO.

On a sidenote, does anyone think the Colts will ever be able to afford a top-caliber defense as long as they're shelling the big bucks for their offense?

Using your analogy, do you truly think that Manning would have two Super Bowl rings had he been with the Patriots? I don't think so as I personally don't thing Manning is a fit for what the Patriots do.

I am just curious Huge, would you say the same thing about Joe Montana? Or, Troy Aikman for that matter? In simple terms, Tom Brady fits New England's system, just like Montana, Aikman, and Bradshaw did for their respective teams.

The fact is, Tom Brady has two Super Bowl Rings and is a two time MVP. He also stands a great chance of picking up a third this year. What ever you think about him, his career has HOF written all over it. He is a winner and I for one would love to have him on my team when I needed to win the big game.
 
People always look at Aikman when it comes to cowboys because he had a better team them before that. Technically staubach was better...
