We lost the ratings war barely, but Vinson is siding with the Texans.
We need to remember that when KEYE does something good, we need to praise them as well.

Vince Young and his Tennessee Titans edged the Houston Texans in the ratings Sunday, but Young will not get the nod this weekend from KEYE-TV.
The local CBS affiliate will air the Texans-Jacksonville Jaguars game on Sunday while the Titans are at Tampa Bay.
"We had a choice. ... We're going to attempt to balance them out," said Gary Vinson, the programming/research director for KEYE.
The question of whether KEYE ought to air Titans or Texans games is one that is hotly debated among local football fans. This past Sunday seemed like a perfect chance to measure the respective support of the two teams, as they went head-to-head in the same noon time slot with neither team facing an opponent that was much of a draw.
"It was fan base vs. fan base," Vinson said.
On KEYE, the Texans' last-second 22-19 win over the Miami Dolphins drew a 7.2 rating, which means the game was seen in 43,400 of the 602,340 homes in the Austin viewing area. The Titans' 20-13 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on KTBC earned an 8.9 rating, seen in 53,600 households, Vinson said.
In spite of the larger numbers for Young and the Texans, Vinson said, "I think the Texans had a great showing."
Vinson said that in some ways, it was still too early to see how the season will play out. KEYE chooses games 12 days in advance.
The offering for Oct. 21 is a no-brainer, as the Texans play the Titans.
We need to remember that when KEYE does something good, we need to praise them as well.
