Dom Capers "D"?

Hook'er

Waterboy
Over on the Finheaven.com Boards they are pretty much sick of ol' Doom Capers. Seems they can't stop the run & are saying how even Dayne should rack up some yardage on them? Man I'm glad he's gone!:texflag:

At one time Capers was a very good coach in both New Orleans and Pittsburgh. Not sure what happened to him. Maybe it's David Carr's fault.

I think he had a tramatic event that happened to him. He always looks like he is in a state of shock.

If they are saying Dayne should rack up alot of yards, I'm at a loss for words...Did I read that correctly?

We were supposed to have a field day running the ball against Atlanta too. That was until we began giving Dayne the ball.

Just saying:specnatz:

A BIG reason why Miami's run defense has been so poor lately is that Zach Thomas has been out the past couple of games. Just imagine what our run defense would look like with Ryans sitting out with an injury. Pretty ugly isn't it? Zach Thomas is expected to play in the Texans game, and I expect that their run defense will be much better this week. The Dayne train just won't cut it. We'll need Green back for sure.

No doubt about it. Watching Dayne run the ball is worse than pulling teeth.:texflag:

I keep waiting for a thread to pop up titled "Rick Smith does it again!" telling how he traded our backup long-snapper for Chester Taylor or something like that..

Sadly, it hasn't happened and I'm getting a little nauseous thinking of another Sunday spent cussing the TV and throwing the rally chickens across the living room because Ron Dayne couldn't get a yard on a 3rd and 1.

I also find myself fixated on trying to come up with nicknames that capture Dayne's ineptitude. Hunger Pain Dayne. Fat Train Dayne. Down the Drain Dayne. No Gain Dayne. Drive Thru Lane Dayne.....

Dayne has never been known to run big at any point in his career. He has always thought he was a scat back in a big man's body. Watch him try and pick up 3rd-and-shorts here, and he tiptoes. He seldom just hits it up in there, and when he does, he has no feel for creases. He just rams his own linemen.

That said, if the O-Line can open up some holes for him, he can occasionally have a good game.

Here's my vote.

Exactly. He took Charles Spencer out and then damn near broke Owen Daniels ribcage open. I wonder if someone paid him to come here and sabotage our growing franchise. Capers, maybe?

Did anyone listen Marc and Andre this morning?? They had Jimmy Cefalo - the voice of the Dolphins (and yes the one that played for them). Anyway, he was talking about the age of the Miami's D - coupled with their injuries. Zach Thomas is more than likely out this week with a concussion (although listed as questionable). Vonnie Holliday is day to day. Tillman is questionable..

Dom Capers had good defenses in Pittsburgh, NO, Carolina, and even here for a year. Part of the early success was due to scheme, I'm sure, but he had quite a few great players along the way. He's never struck me as a coach to make chicken salad out of ..... well, you get the point.

I think that the game is slowly passing Dom Capers up...his defense used to be "cutting edge" but the league has seen it for decades now and his fronts and packages are all old hat.

Vinny.....I can't believe you talked about his "front package". Get your mind out of the gutter. For God sakes man......

That's a good possibility. Throw that in with the fact they're getting old. They had 6 players on D that were over the age of 30.

Keith Traylor's 38? Is that right? Dang!
