Blue Crew: Texas Bowl

Yankee_In_TX

Dance Lindsay!
Ok, I said Bullpen in the other forum, but since all the seats around mine are Blue Crew - anyone going to the Texas Bowl this year? Changed to C USA/Big 12 - chance of U of H, A & M, Texas, and/or NEB. Fun game to go to, weird to see a college game from our seats.

Today is the last day, Adam and I bought all of our seats and parking (4 116H, 4 116D, and 2 Platinum). I hope some others come this year, it was fun last year!

I'm pretty sure we'll see Southern Miss in the texas bowl over U of H. :shades:

Lets here it for the Golden Eagles

Give me U of H, UT, A&M, or NEB. 2 of those games b/c I want to watch them. 2 of those games because tickets will be worth $$$$$$$!

Come on now Yankee. You gotta cheer for Southern Miss. Even though they did take a beating by Boise st. last night.

I renewed my tickets & parking this year. If UH or Nebraska is playing I'll be there - otherwise I'm probably gonna sell 'em.

Although I am not a member of the Blue Crew, I do plan to attend and have purchased my tickets. I sit in 115 Q, and last year I purchased tickets for the same seats. I later got a call from the Texans organization(?) that Rutgers band would be sitting in that area, and offered to move me down to 115 B. It worked out well and I had a great time.

I received a call Monday to inform me that one of the bands will again be utilizing my seats. Therefore, I have been moved to 116, and if I recall correctly, Row B.

Hopefully the Coogs will not be in the Texas Bowl. I would much rather be in the Liberty Bowl again.

I agree with you. I just think that If they don't make the Liberty Bowl, they may decide to go to the Texas Bowl just to be in Houston even if they end up ranking higher than #5. But I hope they go to the Liberty Bowl.

Doesn't matter to me... I'll either be there hanging out with everyone else, or I will be selling the tickets... just depends on what teams make it here...

New Projection is Colorado vs Tulsa for the Texas Bowl.

UH is on track for the Liberty Bowl. Go Coogs!

Just posting another update for those interested. After the loss to Tulsa, UH will be in the Texas Bowl unless Rice can beat Tulsa this weekend.

We're there UNLESS it's A&M v. U of H, then I might have to test the market value of the tickets (hey, I have a wedding to pay for!).

We have 4 in D, Jeff and Dean bought theirs, and Adam and I's in H.

If we go we'll use 4/8. Already made offers to a few people (if we dcide to go instead of scalp).

Thank God you brought it up BEFORE you introduced me to that Buckeye drink... :drunk:

I'm skeptical that A&M would be there. They are bowl eligible but I'd imagine other bowls may want them. That said - anything is possible. I'm still hoping the Coogs go to the Liberty Bowl though....

It's all about bowl affiliations. I think the Texas Bowl includes affiliations with The Big 12, Big East and Conference USA. So depending on where they finish in their respective conferences is how they determine who will be invited. That match-up would be pretty sexy for the Bowl promoters and I think other bowls may shy away from A&M because of the 'Farewell to Fran' tour.. UH missed their opportunity to go back to the Liberty Bowl after that Tulsa fiasco...

Don't get me wrong - I'm not counting them out. It would be huge attendance wise for the Bowl. I think it's more likely they'll be at the Sun Bowl or Independence Bowl or something.

And the Coogs aren't out of it. Rice needs to somehow beat Tulsa this weekend. If that happens and the Coogs win, they've got a shot.

LMAO... I dont really know how to respond to that. I mean I hear what you are saying, but I'm laughing too hard right now...

I would not be shocked if Rice beats Tulsa. Rice throws the ball down field, Tulsa is miserable at defending the long ball. UH has more of a lateral passing game.

Plus, Rice wants to hang one on Graham.

If Tulsa beats Rice, expect Dave Maggard to come on the field immediately after the Cougar game and announce that we have accepted an invitation to play in the Texas Bowl.

We'll go to see the Coogs. We have plenty of tickets and 2 Platinum spots (we're using both spots). We'll toss down for a full tailgate :)

My extra tickets will be sold with priority to Blue Crew members willing to tailgate :)

Bill, I have you down for 2. Currently taking a headcount for our corner - a lot of people are out of town.

Opponents in the mix for the Texas Bowl vs UH include TCU, Colorado, and Air Force. We probably won't know for sure until the BCS selections are made.

Yank - Jen & I will be there for the tailgating in my usual spot.

Excerpt from the Houston Texans e-mail:

E-mail I received said:
The Cougars' side will be on the east side of Reliant Stadium. On the field level, those sections would be 122-134. In the Verizon Wireless East Club Level, those sections would be 329-346.
