We need to be physical......

Overtraining
on the Colts' receivers to have a chance to win this game. I'm not talking about hurting them and taking them out of the game, that's just a classless idea, but most of the time their receivers get the ball and get down or out of bounds. I'm not saying they are soft, I'm just saying we need to make them pay for catching the ball and try not to let them get out of bounds or to the ground without taking a big hit. This will wear them down, make them hear footsteps, and maybe think twice before catching that pass across the middle. This may make no difference at all, but I notice Marvin gets low fast or steps out so he doesn't have to take the hit. I'm not knocking him, I know that's the reason he's been able to sustain a lengthy career and be consistently one of the best in the league year in and year out. This may be something that didn't need to be said, but I think we are going to have a harder time stopping them from catching the ball than we are seeing snot bubbles after the catch. If we can bring a great pass rush and bring the wood after the catch, I think our offense will be able to put up atleast 20 points and we can win this game. Our DBs will have their hands full in coverage, but we know that they are some of the hardest hitting in the league.

Ah, Football!
Off topic: The title of this thread now has me thinking of that stupid song. Thanks, much appreciated. :doot:

Anyway, I agree about being physical, but it should be on both sides of the ball. People have tried to be physical with Indy's receivers all the time, but it rarely works... Being physical on offense is what I think will be more of an influence on the game.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with playing a hard hitting, physical style of football. I am convinced that the only way to win this Sunday is for the Texans to move the ball methodically down the field and eat clock while pressuring Peyton Manning and his receivers early and often. Getting in there and ringing their bells is necessary. If we are to win this game, or even stay competative in it from start to finish then our defense is going to have to keep us in it.

I'm wondering if we're going to be seeing any blitzing this week. The Texans have been almost too quiet when it comes to blitzes. True, they haven't much needed them so far. I understand that. I also think that they're going to pop a few surprises out for the Colts.

One thing that's an absolute MUST is crowd noise. Reliant Stadium must be the loudest it's ever been when the Colts are on offense. Without the crowd this game can't be won. IF YOU ARE GOING TO THE GAME AND COME OUT OF THERE WITH YOUR VOICE INTACT THEN YOU DIDN'T DO YOUR JOB.

Gee thanks! She was hot back then.

I don't think we'll have to worry about being physical. The first 2 games are proof of how much more physical we are as a team.

The key to the game is being able to RUN THE BALL. We've got to keep their offense off the field. There's no doubt the Colts are going to score. We just have to limit their time on the field to do so. So far, we've proven we're able to sustain long drives.:)

Actually, that has been disputed :) But for ME, that's true. I get hoarse by the 3rd quarter.

So I am busy at work and am tossing in, the key is the D Line getting to Peyton. He HATES getting hit and starts making mistakes. It's on Mario, Okoye, TJ (?), and Weaver.

There is no valid basis for a dispute YiT. If people want to watch an NFL game in peace and quiet then they need to stay home and watch it from their couch. Noise is necessary and it's the fans duty to provide it. Failing to do so should result in heaps of shame piled upon them.

Ahh, you missed DB's post. He used to be a heavy metal singer and he simply cannot make himself hoarse. He also posted a DVD metal singers use for training their voices and suggested Texans fans pick up a copy.
