My fear

awtysst

Draft Guru
I have a fear that I wanted to share with the group. My fear is that the Texans are finally starting to get a little recognition and will be playing the Colts on Sunday. I fear without Andre(as it is questionable if he plays) our offense will not be as smooth without him and we might not play as well as we could without him. My fear is that a whole bunch of media people who have started looking at the Texans will just say that the Texans were not really what they thought we were prior to Indy and talk about how we are "just the same old Texans". Any thoughts to assuage my fears? I really like that we are get talked about in a positive light, and I would hate to go back and be ignored or looked down upon by the media...again.

Honestly, who cares what they think. Where have they been through the hard times? They were raggin' on us hard......but we deserved it. We will get hammered if we lose Sunday and it doesn't bother me a bit if it happens. All of these media retards are just on the bandwagon for "now". That's it....just right now. None of them are fans and they only care about us because the other network may mention us or someone at the water cooler said "hey, those Texans may be on to something this year". They give stats that aren't true, talk about us and call us the "Titans", and other lowly things that I will not mention because I already ate dinner. Bottom line, I could care less where they are at. I'll be here next Monday, win or lose, supporting my team. And to be honest with you, I see a lot of new posters on the message board today. While I'm all for new fans, where have they been for the past several seasons? I've been here most of the time, the other times I've been curled up naked on the shower floor crying my eyes out, but that's another story.

Dude.

Here.

Have some koolaid.

It doesn't matter if people are picking us or not. It doesn't matter if people think we're going to win or if we're ranked #10 in the power rankings or #32. It really doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is our team winning. You know this is a good team. I know this is a good team. We're not going to win every game. Schaub is going to have some off games. We're going to beat the snot out of some teams and some teams are going to beat the snot out of us.

One of these teams might be the Colts this week.

Doesn't matter.

It's just one game out of 16. Let's just do the best we can.

Stop and consider that in a lot of ways nothing (short of a win) could be better than the scenario you just described. If in fact the Texans are coming together finally then what could be better than the media telling the rest of the NFL that we're nothing to be afraid of?

When teams do finally turn the corner a few extra weeks of flying under the radar really helps. Plus who cares if the media ignores us or looks down on us. I've been ignoring and looking down on the media for years and they're no worse for it.

win or lose this team is going in the right direction. We all know the Texans still have more upgrades to do to become an elite team in certain areas, but for now I am enjoying the ride (after 5 years of stalls)

and if we lose, we will see the folks come out again and say what you are saying

But this team is going the right direction:texflag:

Trust the offensive system my man.

AJ is a beast but we have depth at WR now and if AJ is out, JJ will start and we know he is a weapon to be reckoned with.

We have beaten one team we should have, one team that some doubted we could, and now we face a team that would start favourite against 30 othe NFL teams so a loss playing tough and competently won't damage our growing reputation.

Just quietly I think we could steal this one, especially without AJ. It might drop their guard a bit, then we get on a roll and they are like the "what the1?!?!?" and then we pound the ball on them and Peyton starts pushing and the rest is a repeat of history past. (A guy can dream can't he??)

on top of that, on the road.. on the freaking road no less
Wow

Well, as a newbie to this site (I found it through the Battle Red Blog) I'd like to say that I've been a Texan fan since I heard Houston was awarded the franchise. Bud Adams left an acrid taste in my throat when he skipped town for the hills of Tennessee. Having said that, who cares what the media says? As far as your "fear", remember, we have a real, legitimate, top 5 defense. If Andre Johnson doesn't play, it might be the chance Jacoby Jones needs to show his receiver skills. All is not lost by any means. I think we have a huge chance to beat the Baby Horses. The Titans came within 2 points. The home crowd at Reliant is worth 2 points. Demeco, Mario, Amobi and Dunta are still gonna play their hearts out. So, keep your chin up.

This isn't the NCAA. The media has no input on who advances to the offseason so who cares what they think?

People get worked up over the most insignificant issues on this board. What's next, Bill Simmons is going to write something negative about Houston which in turn will lead to a 30 page thread about how he is an i d i o t and how Houston gets no respect?

Thanks. It's really good to find a site like this. Living in San Antonio, everything here is Dallas, Dallas, and more Dallas. Sickening.

Looking forward to communicating with Texan fans.

Good point. Sometimes coaches and players need a catalyst for change or coming of age. This could be one--making JJ shoulder the load. He has the big play potential--let's see if he steps up with the maturity to make it happen.

Finally, I have the confidence to say the QB will get him the ball if he is in position.
