Love From ESPN(it took them long enough)

Ryan

THIS YEAR
On SportsCenter, they were asking merril hodge and mark schlereth(sp?) on buying or selling some 2-0 teams. They both are buying the texans high saying we have an explosive offense and a very good defense.

And on Monday Night Countdown, Bill Parcells said that the best offseason acquisition by any team was Matt Schaub for the Texans :fans:

it's about time!

Most of these talking heads are reactionary. I'll give a couple of them credit - like Michael Smith and NFLN's Baldinger - but the rest of them are just jumping on the bandwagon.

I don't mind, but I just don't put much stock into the insight these guys like to think they have.

neither do i, but it's just nice to hear something positive from a national standpoint, which we never have really gotten in 5 years.

oh, don't get me wrong, I completely dig the love for the team, too.

I just find it rather amusing to see so many 'experts' jumping on our bandwagon. Nature of the beast, I guess.

Yep, jumping on the bandwagon. Adam Schefter (sp) of NFL Network was talking on Total Access and the guys were discussing breakout players for week #3. He picked Jacoby as someone who is going to have a big week and then they asked about top recievers in the NFL and he picked Andre. I was surprised that both of his answers were Texans players. Doesn't mean much, battle red is just the flavor of the week.:texflag:

your right if they were such experts they should of been talking about us 2 weeks ago. we all knew this season was gonna be different why didnt they.

Maybe because we didn't use 5/7 picks for our god-awful OL and instead chose ANOTHER DT in the first round. God, what were we thinking? :shades:

If they had more foresight and less foreskin they would have seen it coming just like we did.

Bandwagon. If we lose the next two games ESPN will laugh at us and refer to 'The Texans of old' as being back in Houston. It's sensationalism, it's pretty big in American media. Made up news are easier to manage, and you do not risk reality to mess you your story. That's why I spend very little time getting my info from the American media. :)

Most of those analysts are reactionary, but I think the praise for Schaub means a lot more coming from Parcells. He also said last year, when asked about us taking Williams #1, "They made the right choice."

I must admit that I wasn't totally on Mario's side at that time, but Parcells believed in that pick.

I agree, the word of Parcells does carry a whole lot more weight than some of the other talking heads.
