TV Coverage Map: Week 2

I hope either Fox or CBS offers 2 games this Sunday like we are used to seeing, because that of course was not the case this past Sunday.

^^That is because the Texans were playing at 12 PM, so Fox didn't show a game. I wish we would get a Texan game in DFW. Hopefully I make it out to the sports bar.

sucks that VY and the Texans come on at the same time...............I thought they'd show the Colts and Titans late, because of the matchup........

Houston will get the Cowgirls/Fins 3 PM game on Fox. As usual.

Going to the bar I guess. I hate KEYE, Austin, UT, Vince Young, Bud Adams, Titans fans living in Texas....etc.

There are actually not that many thumbtack fans. Put God on the raiders and we would be seeing the raiders versus the flaming meatballs.

True...not many Titans fans, but plenty of VY > Houston fans. Or at least, enough to make me feel violently ill walking through the stadium. I have no respect for anyone that ditches a team for one player, especially when they are on a team (owner) that already turned its back on Houston.

Don't get mad when you see me with my #10 jersey on Oct. 21st, lol......I can root for VY and the Texans.

I'm sorry not more of the country gets to see the Indy/Ten game, sheesh...it looked like the Republican party kicked a$$ the U.S. was so red!

I'm not really looking forward to the KC/CHI game. They are 'hurtin for a squirtin'. 40-0. If KC scores at all it'll prob. be either a)in the 4th when chicagos scrubs are playing and are down by 100. or b) their defense scores b/c of grossman or benson fumbles

Pick one dude. That is like me going to a Yankees and Red Sox game with a Red Sox jersey and Yankee hat. Can't happen.

I don't know I just don't hate the Titans. I rooted for them when they played the rams in the superbowl because I still felt like guys like Mcnair, Matthews,Wychek, George, and Fisher were Oilers first....and now that VY is there I can't help but to pull for the hometown guy that I've watched blossom since highschool....I understand hating Bud, but I can't let that hatred spread to the entire team....

Well this is my feelings on the Texans. I "like" them, I watch their games, and I do root for them, because they are from Houston......BUT I just haven't had the time to really say that I "love" this team. When I think of my favourite sports teams and "my" rivals...I think of the Jazz, Spurs, Mavs, Redsox, Cardinals, Braves, etc....you'll never catch me rooting for any of those teams.

Don't get mad when you see me with my #10 jersey on Oct. 21st, lol......I can root for VY and the Texans.

I can't really help it...I see all the jerseys of VY running around and it processes as if the people are thumbing their nose at the Texans/Houston. It almost made me physically ill when the Texans lost to the Titans at home and all these people that claim to be Houstonians, Texans, etc were sporting the rivals jersey and appeared so happy to be doing it.

I don't have any real loyalty to the Titans. I remember going to a few Oilers games with my dad back before they left, and my first "stuffed animal" was an Oilers player that I still have. I really quit caring about football entirely when the team left, and didn't care again until I made myself watch the Houston-Dallas opener (which I still have on tape somewhere at home.)

I know I probably place a borderline unhealthy amount of loyalty to the Texans, but for a city thats otherwise known as humid, obese, and "Houston, we have a problem", I wish people would put more value into what we do have going for us. Root for VY all you want...because he is from Houston...but there are 6 games against non Houston opponents to cheer for him to win. I will always say team and city > player.

I just don't get it. We have a team, it is the Texans. Who really cares where a player is from. If that is the case maybe we should sport Addai jerseys when Indy's in town, Maybe Strahan for the Giants, even LT for the Chargers (I know not Houston but close enough). I think the Titans games last year was the low point in this franchise. For an opponent to get that kind of cheering at home makes me sick. I for one am a huge Kevin Kolb fan, will you ever see me sporting a Eagle green Kolb jersey, absolutely not. That ship has sailed, I will continue to support the Texans as a team. It is fine to like other players but when they are playing the home team it just does not seem right to wear their uni and cheer for the opposite team. I wonder if there are Cleveland folks that sport Ravens jerseys because that is the original Browns. I highly doubt it.

There are Texans fans, and then there are people who only made them their favorite PRO team until their favorite college player went elsewhere. If he went to Timbuktoo, that's who they'd root for. What it amounts to, is they are not pro football fans. They are college football fans.

I suggest that about 80000 Texans fans show up for a Longhorns home game wearing the opponents Jerseys and cheering for them. Actually, that could be a lot of fun.

I think people wearing jerseys last year was more an "I told you so" moment more than anything....I even enjoyed VY running in the game winner, because I wanted to rub it in the face of all the people who doubted him.

With VY it's different because this city absolutely LOVED this guy since highschool at Madison. People were calling into radio stations begging for months to draft this guy so I think the organization should expect some sort of backlash realistically.

When it comes to professional football teams I've been a long time Packers and Boys fan so where are you going with this one????

From a national standpoint it looks terrible. Support the team, not all the decisions by the FO. I have lived near Denver, in Boston, and now Pittsburgh in a relatively short span, and these things are the reason why Houston has such a bad rap. Most people in those towns consider us fair-weather and to an extent I think that is true. Everyone is entitled to their favorite players, but it does make me sick to see all the VY jerseys in Reliant. I have heard the stories about everyone loving VY since high school and I don't doubt that they did, but would it be different if he went to play college ball at Michigan? I bet it would be. I hope to not see the same fiasco this year that I saw last year at Reliant when the tacks are in town. We now have a QB who is perfect for our system and some hope for a winning franchise. FWIW I think VY is a decent QB (he may be great, we will see in 5-10 years), but Kubiak has a QB thats fits his offense much better.

Your "I told you so moment" was more important than the home team winning? :hmmm: I think thats called being a front runner...

So?!?! Strahan went to Westbury and Adai went to Sharptsown. Are you pimping their jerseys??? Not to mention ALL of the other studs around the NFL that were reared in and around Houston....

As someone put it (very nicely I might add): City/team > player

That's the thing though I just don't see why you have to root for your home team , because they're from your "home town"....and if VY had went to Michigan I'd still root for him the same way considering I'm not a big Longhorns fan.

[Your "I told you so moment" was more important than the home team winning? I think thats called being a front runner...

Call it what you want, but yes it was important and somewhat entertaining also. The city wanted it, and VY wanted it, but the F.O. didn't make it happen....

No, because like I said VY was recognized and loved more by the city of Houston more than any of those guys

I bet anyone who went to Stratford was not rooting for VY since his days at madison, that is probably the most idiotic statement I have ever heard. There are a lot of people who follow college but have no clue in high school football.

Yes lets base football decisions based solely where someone went to school. That is brilliant, I mean to hell with building a team for the long haul but lets build it so as to appease the vy jock sniffers. Makes great sense to me.

I think it is pretty scary that you have been in-love with this guy since he was a minor. In fact I think it is extremely scary.

Let me add that since you love vy so much take your happy ass to the titans board and stay there as far as I am concerned, because you are not a Texans fan in the slightest.

1. Again, given that logic - where is your man-love for Adai and Strahan??

2. That's simply pathetic, and even worse that you admit to it... But hey, its a free world - carry on.

3. You really shouldn't take liberties by putting words in people's mouths (or keyboards).... I see plenty of people on this board alone that dont care about that running back in Tennessee. I also know plenty of 'sips who loved what Vince did for their University, but that was then and this is now...

AND for the last time, if the Texans were really interested in drafting a running back last year, they would have drafted RB and still not your man-crush...

Damn straight. Rep for you.

I think Bum Phillips said it the best...

"The day the Oilers left town they went went out of my heart and out of my mind."

You can sit there and try to justify your VY worship all you want. However, there is no fence riding on this...

You're either a Texan or you aint'. I don't care who plays for the Titans, they are to be despised forever in this town.

The slap in the face was Bud having the media event @ George Bush Airport the day after the draft. That fat turd should have been strung up right then and there. How dare he set foot in this town again!

I can tell by your age your probably a little too young to understand the emotions behind the situation. But in my view Vince Young plays for my sworn enemy and therefore he is my enemy until he takes that uniform off and repents.

And that's all I got to say about that.:cowboy1:

I say there needs to be a volunteer posse collecting VY jerseys at all of the gates @ Reliant. We shouldn't allow them in our house.

Any one who says they are a Texan fan and then goes to a game wearing an opposing team jersey is NOT a fan.

Go wear your jersey in Timbukto (Tenn) and leave the Texans alone.

gotta agree with you on that one. if you wanted VY, fine, but you shouldnt wear an opposing team's jersey to the stadium if you are a fan of the Texans. I think that crosses the line imho. respectfully cheer? sure. root for him? no freakin way. the football gods have him playing for our only true rival and that is the reality of the situation. is it brutal? yes. was it a good move keeping Carr and passing on VY? no. but the move was made and no amount of 'rubbing the Texans brass in it' will change that.

the great thing is that the organization realized the error in their ways, got rid of loser, and got a pretty damn capable QB for us within a year. I might add that our QB (Schaub) is arguably a better fit for our system and is probably a better bet long term due to him not relying on his feet as much as that puts QBs into possible injury situations. When you couple that with the fact that Schaub is a better passing QB and a very bright football mind, we may actually be in better shape than if we would have cut bait with Carr and drafted VY. Yeah the team would be more hyped and the local community would probably be a little happier with VY but I don't know if it helps us as a football team more now that we got rid of the Carrbage.

Schaub > or = Young

I love VY and think he is great but he is with the Titans. He is Enemy Number One because of that. Its really that simple for any real Texans fan.

I hate that damn city. If I just lived a little bit closer to San Antonio, I would probably get their programming and be able to watch the game at home. At this rate though I doubt I'll ever see a Texans game at home in San Marcos until I'm out of college.

I bet anyone who went to Stratford was not rooting for VY since his days at madison, that is probably the most idiotic statement I have ever heard. There are a lot of people who follow college but have no clue in high school football.

VY has been one of the most if not the most popular high school sports figure that this city has ever seen....

Yes lets base football decisions based solely where someone went to school. That is brilliant, I mean to hell with building a team for the long haul but lets build it so as to appease the vy jock sniffers. Makes great sense to me.

No, let's base football decisions on a guy who has tremendous talent and leadership abilities. I wanted VY, because I believed "he WAS the best player in the draft" last season....makes great sense to me.

I think it is pretty scary that you have been in-love with this guy since he was a minor. In fact I think it is extremely scary.

And I think it's scary that a lot of the people on this board (your retarded ass probably included) were dumb enough to believe that this guy wasn't going to amount to anything....

Let me add that since you love vy so much take your happy ass to the titans board and stay there as far as I am concerned, because you are not a Texans fan in the slightest.

I've already registered...and fortunately you're not God so you don't decide who "is" and "isn't" a texans fan.

LOL...not hurting me one bit. Be on the look out on Oct. 21st for the guy in the VY jersey...........oh wait................that will be a lot of people....... :doot:

Y'all can all ride the VY bandwagon, just don't expect a warm reception once VY gets hurt (ALL run first QBs get hurt) or fails to live up to potential or the lack of talent around him means the Titans are permenant basement dwellers.

I can tell by your age your probably a little too young to understand the emotions behind the situation. But in my view Vince Young plays for my sworn enemy and therefore he is my enemy until he takes that uniform off and repents.

I really don't think that's it, because when they were here I was an Oilers fan and I experience Buffalo in '92 and K.C. in '93...and my father was a huge Oilers fan since he and my mom moved here in the 70's, but even he found some satisfaction out of VY beating us last year.........

I don't think it's wrong to support a player on another team, I do it with Zach Thomas. But I would never, ever support an individual player over the Texans; and I don't think any true Texans fans would.

that's the thing though I'm not saying VY > Texans. It's obvious that I'm a fan of some sort if I take time out of my busy schedule to post here....

I've editted the post (in case anybody gets confused), but there is a difference between us. I don't own a Dolphins jersey, and if I had one I would not even consider wearing it to a Texans game.

Texans > then all others past, present and future.

some people just take this "fan" thing a little too far imo....I am probably the BIGGEST Rockets fan there ever was. I cried and threw hissy fits when they used to lose, I make an ass out of myself to get season tickets AND I go to EVERY game (preseason, season, and playoffs) despite working and going to school.........with all that being said I still have a Michael Jordan jersey hanging in my closet and a Lebron James "Witness" shirt, because I like those players....I hate fans who look down on other fans just because they don't swing off the home teams nuts and like other players from other teams..I repeat "no one on this board truely "loves" this team, because they just haven't been here long enough"...that's right...... we don't have any "remember when this happened" moments, we haven't been through enough ups and downs and we haven't known any of the players (the ones who have actually stayed) long enough to actually say we "love" them.....the texans are equivalent to that chick you use as side ***** and until you get to know her she is that girl that you like to hang around and occassionally bang.......she hasn't been here long enough to get the "wifey" status just yet.

I think that the bigger factor is that it's Vince Young. As you well know it's still an issue amongst the fan-base, and after over a year of hearing about it some people's nerve's on the subject are worn out; and hence the reaction you are getting.

I don't think it would be as big a deal if it was any other jersey, with the exception of Reggie Bush.
