We're #3 in Tailgating!!!

Shotgun 30 Time
I saw this on the news this morning and decided to look it up. I thought it was neat that for a franchise that has only been around for a few years, that we were ranked third. But then again...I already knew that Texans fans know how to tailgate!

"After analyzing a host of criteria, including stadium parking lots, overall tailgating environment, tailgating-fan enthusiasm and the sales of tailgating accessories like in-car live TV systems and mobile programming, an alliance of tailgating experts has released for the first time the America's Best Football Tailgating Cities Index, a ranking of the “tailgating-friendliness” of the 31 U.S. cities with an NFL team plus NFL-hopeful Los Angeles. And the winners are...
1. Baltimore
2. Denver
3. Houston
4. San Diego
5. Cincinnati"

Niiiiiiiiiiiiice :-) But they're telling us what we already knew!

Precisely what I said. I don't think the Texans tailgate parties can be beat!

We had Dennis Watley (former Chiefs VP) at the opening game tailgate. I think he was impressed.

Nice to see us get some postive pub for once!

How in the heck do you rank Dallas at #26???

There isn't any tailgating in Dallas! :ouch:

wow...that's great!

But I'm surprised that we're ranked higher than KC or Green Bay, cities with historic tailgating.

I'm not complaining, though. The Houston Texans and their fans rock! :texflag:

BTW, we wnated to come over Sunday - but our grill pick up man left his tickets at home, and not realizing you could have them printed at Reliant, drove back to Galveston. So by the time we fired up the grill there was no time for Shotgun 30 :-( Hoping for the next game!

You know where to find us...the Yellow lot drank all of our beer by 11 AM...and it was allot!

They must have been there the game WE went to Dallas and tailgatged before the game...

Something I hope we will start seeing more often through this great state...
:texflag: Welcome to Texans territory! Sorry Cowboy fans!

Well I would like to say I think they got that pretty much right.. I can only imagine if they allowed us to get in before 4 hours before kickoff, Platinum lot'ers no reply needed, I know....you got the bonus hr. But I know we get at the gate way before they open and set up for breakfast, a pretailgate party, and I see other cars doing alot of that as well. And since I doubt the "experts" get there that early, the #3 ranking could be a little low.

Regardless, we know how to freaking have a Texas sized party, and ain't no other fans can say that !!

I would have figured Kansas City would be #1. Apparently their games are supposed to have an almost college-like atmosphere. I guess they aren't as nice as other cities...

I never would have guessed Baltimore either. They look like they get down pretty good.

Damn no love for the steelers either....

When I was there this summer I saw people tailgating for the Pirates and they are always bottom-feeders.

We do it right.:texflag:

I had always heard great things about KC and Philly tailgating. One thing we got going for us is great food and wide variety of cultures. The huge amount of parking helps too.

I gave up my tickets this past week to some family and I heard that the parking lot police are now a lot more vigiliant about not taking up extra spaces and the whole parking thing in general. We loved turning our 2 passes into 3 lots with some creative unloading and tent placement. My dad said that era seems to have ended.....boo.

and it looks like everyone is beginning to realize the yellow lot is definitely the place to be. Can't wait till the Colts game.

I wouldn't go that far, each lot has it's own personality. Yellow, Blue, and Orange all seem to go about it the same way. It's when you have 35 vehicles lined up at each gate 1.5 hours ahead of time, you know this ain't no second rate tailgate ctiy !!

35 vehicles? Is that all you orange lotters bring to open the place?

Agreed. I've said it before...I'll say it again. The '<insert color here> lot is best' debate has gotten stale.

Can't we all just get along? :)

When it's 6:30 in the AM, that's a good start...When the gates open, cars are lined down Fannin, around the corner coming from 610, around the bend to 45, and well, I can't see that far...But recall the part at the end of Field of Dreams when all those cars are coming from miles...That's our lot baby !!:coolb:

It has been a few years since I was in Denver, but I don't recall them having all that much going on compared to our Yellow and Blue. Maybe I was in the wrong lot(s).

All lots are created equal.....:texflag:

Some are just more equal than others. :joker: j/k!

yeah, well you get a head start with the Montrose being so close to the stadium and all. :victory:

That's while the BLUE crew is kickin back, watching all you guys/gals fight for a parking spot!! J/K!!!!! Haven't waited in a line in three years now.

Texan tailgating is only getting better and better each year. Don't matter if its two people, or a huge group, as long as your having fun, enjoying ALL fans, and supporting our team with gusto, the color of the lot is totally insignificant.

You would be correct, the color of one man's lot should not make a difference !! We are lucky enough that we are the first ones in the Orange and don't have to wait...Now you platinum people get set up and are 3 drinks in before the rest of us are...If I ever park in blue, I am coming to the fence near ya'll and I hope to be served a hot breakfast !
